1. INTENDED USE
The SSL-3736, Single-bay battery charger is intended to charge 2054-style, smart, li-ion
battery packs supplied by Sunoptic Technologies
®
.
2. WARNINGS
•Upon initial receipt and before each use, inspect each battery and charger for damage.
Do not attempt to charge a damage battery. Do not attempt to operate the charger if the
cord and/or plug appear to be damaged, such as cuts, bent pins or contacts, and/or
cracks.
•Do not expose the charger to heat, fire, or mechanical shock.
•Place the charger in a cool spot, away from any heat sources.
•Do not use this equipment in the presence of a mixture containing flammable anesthetic
and/or air or oxygen or nitrous oxide.
•Do not sterilize, immerse, or expose the charger, or power supply to water, solvents,
lubricants, or other chemicals to clean the charger unless otherwise directed. Do not
allow water to collect in the bays or on top of the charger. Do not allow water to enter the
power connection on the back of the charger. Keep clean and dry.
•Do not short-circuit, crush, open, shred, incinerate, or dismantle the charger or the
power supply brick.
•The charger does not have serviceable parts. Contact Sunoptic Technologies
®
for
replacement instructions.
•Do not modify or change the power cord. The power cord should be plugged into a
hospital grade outlet.
•Do not bend the power cord forcibly or place a heavy object on it. This will damage the
cord and may cause fire or electrical shock.
•Use only the charger and charger accessories as intended.
•Do not operate the charger at a different voltage than what is listed on the unit and in
this Instructions for Use.
•Unplug the power supply from the wall socket during extended periods on non-use.
Disconnect the power plug by pulling from the plug housing and not the cord.
•If the charger or the battery generates excessive heat, becomes discolored, emits an
odor, or leaks disconnect the power cord from the wall socket immediately.
•Do not repeatable insert a fully charged battery into the charger. Due to the high initial
charge, the battery may become overcharged, which could cause damage to the battery
and/or charger.
•This battery charger may not be located in the vicinity of a patient. In accordance with
EN60601-1-1, the horizontal distance must be at least 1.5m (4.9ft.).

4. BATTERY CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS
Place the charger on a stable surface. Plug the output connector of the external AC/DC
power supply into the DC input located on the rear of the charging station. Then plug the
external AC/DC power supply into an AC outlet.
The charge process will start after inserting a battery pack into the slot after a battery
recognition and initialization. Leave the battery in the slot until the indicator light turns
green. The battery is fully charged and is ready for use. See Table 1 for a legend of the
LED indicator.

The battery was not recognized as a Smart Battery.
Either a conventional battery is inserted or an
extremely discharged Smart Battery. If it is a Smart
Battery, it will be reactivated within 15 minutes. If this
is not the case, the LED will light red – see below.
Orange blin

The battery is currently being calibrated
Orange light
The inserted battery is the correct type and is currently
being charged.
Green light
The battery is fully charged and can be removed for
use.
Red blinking
The battery is too hot or too cold to be charged without
damage. If the battery is too cold, it will be charged as
soon as it has warmed up sufficiently. If the battery is
too hot, it should be removed to cool down.
Red light
Either:
•The battery is badly damaged and must be
replaced, or
•It is a conventional battery which cannot be
recharged.

NOTE:
•The unit will become warm during normal operation. This does not indicate a
malfunction.
•Prevent metallic objects from coming into contact with the metal parts of the DC
plug of the power supply. If this happens, a short may occur and the unit may be
damaged.
•Ensure the battery has proper orientation before insertion. Do not attempt to
force a battery into the slot as this may damage the contacts.
•Try to recharge batteries once they are fully depleted. This will allow the charger
to more accurately calculate capacity and exact charging requirements.
5. CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
•Disconnect the Charger from the power source.
•Clean the exterior of the charger with a cloth that has been dampened (not dripping)
using a hospital disinfectant. Follow applicable hospital protocols during cleaning and
dry immediately.

6. DISPOSAL/RECYCLE
•In accordance with the European Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE) directive, we encourage our customers to recycle this product whenever
possible. Disposal of this unit must be performed in accordance with the applicable
local environmental regulations.
•In the US a list of recyclers in your area can be found at: http:/www.eiae.org/.
•Please contact our Repair Department to issue a return authorization to return
product to manufacturer at the end of product life.
7. TROUBLESHOOTING

8. LIMITED WARRANTY
Your single-bay battery charger carries a 3-years warranty from the date of shipment on
workmanship and all defects of material except batteries. Should your product prove to
have such defects within three years from the date of shipment, Sunoptic Technologies
®
will repair or replace the product or component part without charge. Should your single-bay
battery charger need servicing under this warranty, please contact Sunoptic
Technologies
®
for return authorization documentation. You should carefully pack product in
a sturdy carton and ship it to the factory. Please include a note describing the defects, your
name, telephone number and a return address. Warranty does not cover equipment subject
to misuse, accidental damage, and normal wear and tear. This warranty gives you specific
legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
POST WARRANTY REPAIRS: You may return your product(s) for repair, shipping prepaid
to the factory. Your product will be inspected and an estimate of repair charges will be
submitted to you for approval. Payment must be received before repairs are completed.

1. UTILISATION PRÉVUE
Le chargeur de batterie à baie unique SSL-3736 est conçu pour charger des batteries li-
ion intelligentes de type 2054 fournies par Sunoptic Technologies.
2. AVERTISSEMENTS
• Lors de la réception initiale et avant chaque utilisation, inspectez chaque batterie et
chargeur en vue d'éventuels dommages. N'essayez pas de charger une batterie
endommagée. N'essayez pas de faire fonctionner le chargeur si le cordon et/ou la prise
semblent endommagés, comme par exemple des coupures, des broches ou des
contacts pliés, et/ou des fissures.
• N'exposez pas le chargeur à la chaleur, au feu ou à des chocs mécaniques.
• Placez le chargeur dans un endroit frais, loin de toute source de chaleur.
• N'utilisez pas cet équipement en présence d'un mélange contenant un anesthésique
inflammable et/ou de l'air, de l'oxygène ou de l'oxyde nitreux.
• Ne pas stériliser, immerger ou exposer le chargeur ou l'alimentation à l'eau, aux
solvants, lubrifiants ou autres produits chimiques pour nettoyer le chargeur, sauf
indication contraire. Ne laissez pas l'eau s'accumuler dans les baies ou sur le dessus du
chargeur. Ne laissez pas l'eau entrer dans le raccordement électrique à l'arrière du
chargeur. Conserver le propre et sec.
• Ne pas court-circuiter, écraser, ouvrir, déchiqueter, incinérer ou démonter le chargeur ou
le bloc d'alimentation.
• Le chargeur ne possède pas de pièces de rechange. Contactez Sunoptic Technologies
®
pour obtenir des instructions de remplacement.
• Ne modifiez pas ou ne changez pas le cordon d'alimentation. Le cordon d'alimentation
doit être branché dans une prise de qualité hospitalière.
• Ne repliez pas le cordon d'alimentation avec force et ne placez pas d'objets lourds
dessus. Ceci endommagerait le cordon et pourrait causer un incendie ou un choc
électrique.
• Utilisez uniquement le chargeur et les accessoires du chargeur comme cela est prévu.
• N'utilisez pas le chargeur avec une tension différente de celle indiquée sur l'appareil et
dans ce mode d'emploi.
• Débranchez l'alimentation de la prise murale pendant les périodes d'inutilisation
prolongées. Débranchez la fiche d'alimentation en tirant sur le corps de la prise et non
sur le cordon.
• Si le chargeur ou la batterie génère une chaleur excessive, se décolore, dégage une
odeur ou fuit, débranchez immédiatement le cordon d'alimentation de la prise murale.
• Ne pas réinsérez pas une batterie complètement chargée dans le chargeur. En raison de
la charge initiale importante, la batterie pourrait être surchargée, ce qui pourrait
endommager la batterie et/ou le chargeur.
• Ce chargeur de batterie ne doit pas être situé à proximité d'un patient. Conformément à
la norme EN60601-1-1, la distance horizontale doit être d'au moins 1,5 m (4,9 pied).

4. INSTRUCTIONS POUR LE CHARGEMENT DE BATTERIE
Placez le chargeur sur une surface stable. Branchez le connecteur de sortie de
l'alimentation AC/DC externe dans l'entrée DC située à l'arrière de la station de charge.
Branchez ensuite l'alimentation AC/DC externe dans une prise secteur.
Le processus de charge commence lors l'insertion d'une batterie dans l'emplacement,
après la reconnaissance et l'initialisation de la batterie. Laissez la batterie dans
l'emplacement jusqu'à ce que le voyant passe au vert. La batterie est complètement
chargée et prête à l'emploi. Voir le tableau 1 pour une légende de l'indicateur LED.

Auto-test; Le chargeur est prêt à l'emploi
Rouge/Vert clignotant La batterie n'a pas été reconnue comme une batterie
intelligente. Une batterie conventionnelle est insérée,
ou une batterie intelligente extrêmement déchargée.
S'il s'agit d'une batterie intelligente, elle sera réactivée
dans les 15 minutes. Si ce n'est pas le cas, la LED
s'allume en rouge - voir ci-dessous.
Orange clignotant
La batterie est en cours de calibrage
Lumière orange La batterie insérée est de type correct et est en cours
de charge.
Lumière verte La batterie est complètement chargée et peut être
retirée pour utilisation.
Rouge clignotant La batterie est trop chaude ou trop froide pour être
chargée sans dommage. Si la batterie est trop froide,
elle sera chargée dès qu'elle aura suffisamment
chauffé. Si la batterie est trop chaude, elle doit être
retirée pour refroidissement.
Lumière rouge Soit :
•La batterie est gravement endommagée et
doit être remplacée, ou
•C'est une batterie conventionnelle qui ne
peut pas être rechargée.

REMARQUE :
• L'unité devient chaude pendant un fonctionnement normal. Cela n'indique pas
un dysfonctionnement.
• Empêchez les objets métalliques d'entrer en contact avec les parties
métalliques de la fiche DC de l'alimentation. Si cela se produit, un court-circuit
peut arriver et l'unité peut être endommagée.
• Assurez-vous que la batterie est correctement orientée avant de l'insérer.
N'essayez pas de forcer l'installation d'une batterie dans l'emplacement car cela
pourrait endommager les contacts.
• Essayez de recharger les piles une fois qu'elles sont complètement épuisées.
Cela permettra au chargeur de calculer avec plus de précision la capacité et les
exigences de charge exactes.
5. INSTRUCTIONS DE NETTOYAGE
• Débranchez le chargeur de la source d'alimentation.
• Nettoyez l'extérieur du chargeur à l'aide d'un chiffon humide (pas de gouttes) avec
un désinfectant hospitalier. Suivre les protocoles hospitaliers applicables pendant le
nettoyage et sécher immédiatement.

d'alimentation.

8. GARANTIE LIMITÉE
Votre chargeur de batterie à baie unique bénéficie d'une garantie de 3 ans à compter de la
date d'expédition couvrant la main d'œuvre et de tous les défauts de matériel à l'exception
des batteries. Si votre produit s'avère présenter de tels défauts dans un délai de trois ans à
compter de la date d'expédition, Sunoptic Technologies® réparera ou remplacera le
produit ou la pièce sans frais. Si votre chargeur de batterie à baie unique doit être réparé
sous cette garantie, veuillez contacter Sunoptic Technologies® pour obtenir la
documentation d'autorisation de retour. Vous devez soigneusement emballer le produit
dans un carton solide et l'expédier à destination de l'usine. Veuillez inclure une note
décrivant les défauts, votre nom, votre numéro de téléphone et une adresse de retour. La
garantie ne couvre pas les équipements sujets à une mauvaise utilisation, des dommages
accidentels et une usure normale. Cette garantie vous donne des droits légaux spécifiques
et vous pouvez également recevoir d'autres droits variant d'un état à l'autre.

2. WARNUNGEN
• Inspizieren Sie jeden Akku und jedes Ladegerät bei Empfang und vor jeder Benutzung
auf Schäden. Laden Sie keinen beschädigten Akku. Betreiben Sie kein Ladegerät, wenn
das Kabel und / oder der Stecker Schäden aufweisen, z.B. Einschnitte, verbogene Stifte
oder Kontakte bzw. Risse.
• Setzen Sie das Ladegerät keiner Hitze, Feuer oder mechanischen Stößen aus.
• Bewahren Sie das Ladegerät an einem kühlen Ort und fern von Wärmequellen auf.
• Verwenden Sie dieses Gerät nicht in der Nähe von Mixturen, die brennbare Anästhetika
und / oder Luft oder Sauerstoff oder Stickstoffoxid enthalten.
• Ladegerät oder Netzteil nicht sterilisieren, untertauchen oder beim Reinigen Wasser,
Lösemitteln, Schmiermitteln oder anderen Chemikalien aussetzen, sofern nicht anders
angegeben. Lassen Sie kein Wasser in den Ladebuchten oder auf dem Ladegerät
ansammeln. Lassen Sie kein Wasser in die Stromanschlüsse auf der Rückseite des
Ladegeräts eintreten. Sauber und trocken halten.
• Ladegerät oder Netzteil nicht kurzschließen, zerquetschen, öffnen, zerschnitzeln oder
demontieren.
• Das Ladegerät hat keine wartbaren Teile. Kontaktieren Sie Sunoptic Technologies

Anweisungen zum Austausch.
• Das Kabel darf nicht modifiziert oder verändert werden. Das Stromkabel muss in eine
Schutzkontaktsteckdose eingesteckt werden.
• Stromkabel nicht gewaltsam biegen oder schwere Gegenstände daraufstellen. Dies
beschädigt das Kabel und kann zu Brandgefahr oder Elektroschock verursachen.
• Ladegerät und Zubehör nur wie vorgesehen verwenden.
• Ladegerät nicht mit anderer Spannung verwenden, als der, die auf dem Gerät und in der
Gebrauchsanleitung angegeben ist.
• Netzteil ausstecken, wenn das Gerät längere Zeit nicht in Gebrauch ist. Immer den
Stecker aus der Steckdose abziehen, nicht am Kabel.
• Wenn das Ladegerät oder der Akku überhitzen, sich verfärben, Gerüche abgeben oder
lecken, sofort vom Stromnetz trennen.
• Legen Sie den vollständig geladenen Akku nicht wiederholt in das Ladegerät ein.
Aufgrund der hohen ursprünglichen Ladung kann der Akku überlastet werden, was zu
Schäden am Akku oder am Ladegerät führen kann.
• Dieses Akkuladegerät sollte nicht in der Nähe eines Patienten aufgestellt werden. Der
horizontale Abstand muss nach EN60601-1-1 mindestens 1,5 m betragen.

4. ANLEITUNG ZUM LADEN VON AKKUS
Stellen Sie den Akku auf eine stabile Oberfläche. Stecken Sie den Ausgangsstecker des
externen AC/DC Netzteils in den DC-Eingang an der Rückseite der Ladestation. Dann
stecken Sie das externe AC/DC Netzteil in eine AC-Steckdose.
Wenn Sie einen Akku in die Ladebucht einlegen, beginnt der Ladevorgang beginnt,
nachdem eine Akkuerkennung und -initialisierung durchgeführt wurde. Lassen Sie den
Akku in der Aufnahme, bis die Leuchtanzeige grün leuchtet. Der Akku ist dann
vollständig geladen und betriebsbereit. Eine Legende für die LED-Anzeige finden Sie in
Tabelle 1.

Blinkt Rot / Grün Der Akku wurde nicht als Smart-Akku erkannt.
Entweder wurde ein konventioneller Akku eingelegt
oder ein extrem entladener Smart-Akku. Handelt es
sich um einen Smart-Akku, wird er innerhalb von 15
Minuten wiederaktiviert. Ist dies nicht der Fall, leuchtet
die LED rot - siehe unten.

Der eingelegte Akku ist der richtige Typ und wird derzeit
geladen.
Leuchtet Grün Der Akku ist vollständig geladen und betriebsbereit.
Blinkt Rot Akku ist zu heiß oder zu kalt zum Laden ohne
Beschädigung. Ist der Akku zu kalt, wird er geladen,
sobald er ausreichend aufgewärmt ist. Ist der Akku zu
heiß, sollte er entfernt werden, bis er abgekühlt ist.
Leuchtet Rot Entweder:
•Akku ist schwer beschädigt und muss
ersetzt werden, oder
•Es handelt sich um eine konventionelle
Batterie und kann nicht geladen werden.

HINWEIS:
• Das Gerät wird beim normalen Betrieb warm. Dies ist keine Fehlfunktion.
• Vermeiden Sie, dass Metallobjekte mit den Metallteilen am DC-Stecker des
Netzteils in Kontakt kommen. Sollte dies vorkommen, kann ein Kurzschluss
auftreten und das Gerät wird beschädigt.
• Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Akku vor dem Einstecken richtig ausgerichtet ist.
Versuchen Sie nicht, den Akku gewaltsam in die Aufnahme zu stecken, da dies
die Kontakte beschädigen kann.
• Versuchen Sie, Akkus aufzuladen, wenn sie vollständig entleert sind. Auf diese
Weise kann das Ladegerät die Kapazität und die Ladeanforderungen genauer
berechnen.
5. REINIGUNGSANWEISUNGEN
• Trennen Sie das Ladegerät von der Stromquelle.
Reinigen Sie die Oberfläche des Ladegeräts mit einem feuchten Tuch (nicht nass) und
Desinfektionsmittel. Gehen Sie bei der Reinigung nach Krankenhausprotokoll vor und
trocknen Sie das Gerät umgehend ab.

Produkt innerhalb von 3 Jahren ab Versanddatum solche Schäden aufweisen, dann
