INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
TallyGenicom printers are connected to IBM AS400/iSeries and mainframes,
primarily in warehouses, back office retail and manufacturing environments.
TallyGenicom is a well established printer
manufacturer, known for supplying high quality
Dot Matrix, Line Matrix, Mono and Colour Laser
printers into the IBM systems market.
IBM Connectivity
IBM users have been quick to migrate from legacy cabling
systems (Coax for mainframe and Twinax for AS400/iSeries)
to devices connected via IP. Today’s printers support Ethernet
as standard, supporting either the need for direct connection,
or alternatively with AFP/IPDS, TN3270e and TN5250e. These
direct connect devices are fully compatible with IBM’s
resident iSeries systems drivers to ensure link integrity.

IPDS (Intelligent Printer Data Stream) is available which is

• TallyGenicom’s range of mono and colour lasers include
our Intelliprint series, which have been tested with our new,
small unobtrusive external Ethernet IPDS solution
