Duplexer Setup Guide
The optional duplexer enables printing on both sides of a sheet of paper.
1. Unpack the duplexer from its shipping container.
2. Ensure that the printer power switch is set to the OFF [ O ] position.
WARNING: To prevent the danger of electric shock, before installing any options be sure to
turn the power switch of the printer to the off [O] position and disconnect the power cord
from the wall outlet.

3. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
NOTE: If an optional face-up tray is installed on your printer, complete the following two steps to
remove it, otherwise proceed directly to Step 6 below.
4. Lift to remove the face-up tray.
5. Untighten the thumbscrews as indicated and remove the connecting plate.

6. Make sure the multi-bypass feeder on the printer is completely open.
7. With both hands, move the duplexer close to the printer, horizontally and hook the
duplexer onto the printer as indicated.
8. Firmly insert the stopper on the right side of the duplexer into the printer.
9. Secure the duplexer by hooking the safety wire of the unit to the printer as indicated.

10. Plug the cable of the duplexer into the connector on the printer.
11. Close the duplexer.
12. Connect the power cord to the wall outlet.

13. Turn the printer power switch to the ON [ I ] position.
The installation of the duplexer option is now complete.
