Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Targus Mobile Security Lock for iPod®. This mobile lock is designed
specifically to be used as a mobile solution with your backpack, notebook bag, purse or stationary object. It
provides an affordable way to secure their iPod while at work or on the go.The Mobile lock is compact, flexible
and comes with a unique housing designed to facilitate the use of the retractable head and allow for ease of
storage in backpacks, notebook bags or other carrying cases.

NOTE: TO PROPERLY SECURE THE LOCK TO THE iPOD, ENSURE THAT THE LOCK CLICKS FIRMLY INTO PLACE, INDICATING THAT THE LOCK TEETH HAVE TAKEN PLACE
IN THE iPOD. ONE CAN LINE UP THE LOCK-HEAD PROPERLY BY MATCHING THE TARGUS LOGO AND SILVER LINES ON THE LOCK HEAD.
Locking the Mobile Security Lock to your iPod
1. Using the dials, enter the correct combination.The combination appears in the numeric slots just below the Targus logo.
2. Initial preset combination is 000, and should be changed to a personalized combination for increased security.
3. Secure your iPod by inserting the locking head as you depress both of the designated notches located on each side button.
Press near the top of the side release buttons.
4. For security purposes, turn the combination dials to prevent access to your personalized combination code.

Securing the Mobile Security Lock
Select an object in the room to which you will secure your iPod with the Mobile
Security Lock. Choose a large, heavy piece of furniture such as a table or desk, or
an immovable fixture such as a closet hanging bar.
1. Push the lock out from the hole at the back of the casing.
2. Press and hold the casing release button, and pull the cable out lightly.
3. Take the lock and wrap it around the selected object to create a loop.
4. Feed the lock through the back hole of the casing as shown. Wrap the cable
around a part of the object that will deter a potential thief from slipping the cable
off (for example, a table or a desk leg with a cross bar or a drawer handle).
Changing the Mobile Security Lock Combination
1. Using a small flat-head screwdriver or similar object, push in and rotate the reset screw 90 degrees counter-clockwise
so that the screw’s groove appears vertical and aligns with the combination line mark as shown.
2. Using the dials, enter the new combination.
3. Using a small flat-head screwdriver or similar object and rotate the reset screw 90 degrees clockwise so that
the screw’s groove appears horizontal.
4. Press and hold the locking buttons of the lock and insert the Mobile Security Lock into your iPod.
5. Turn the dials to conceal your combination.
NOTE: HOLD THE MOBILE SECURITY LOCK FIRMLY FOR ADDITIONAL STABILITY WHILE INSERTING OR REMOVING THE LOCK. INPUT THE CURRENT COMBINATION PRIOR
TO BEGINNING THE RESET / CODE CHANGE PROCESS.

Unlocking the Mobile Security Lock
1. Using the dials, enter the correct combination.
2. The combination is visible through the numeric slots, and the proper input side is noted by the Targus logo and silver notches.
3. To release the lock, press on the designated notches on both buttons and pull the locking head away from the iPod.
Press near the top of the side release buttons.
4. Remove the Mobile Security Lock from your iPod 30-pin slot.
WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE MOBILE SECURITY LOCK WITHOUT USING THE COMBINATION, OR IT WILL CAUSE PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO YOUR iPOD.

Verrouillage du Mobile Security Lock
1. Entrez la combinaison de votre choix au moyen des molettes. La combinaison apparaît dans les cases numériques
situées sous le logo Targus.
2. La combinaison prédéfinie en usine est 000. Pour de plus de sécurité, vous devez en changer et opter pour une
combinaison personnalisée.
3. Sécurisez votre iPod. Pour ce faire, insérez la tête de verrouillage tout en appuyant sur les encoches désignées sur
chaque bouton latéral. Pressez la partie supérieure latérale pour débloquer les interrupteurs.
4. À des fins de sécurité, tournez les molettes de réglage de la combinaison pour prévenir tout accès au code
personnalisé que vous avez choisi.

Fixation du Mobile Security Lock
Sélectionnez l'objet auquel vous voulez fixer votre iPod au moyen du Mobile Security
Lock (meuble, table ou bureau massif et lourd).
1. Poussez le verrou hors du boîtier par l'orifice pratiqué au dos de ce dernier.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton de déblocage du boîtier et, tout en le maintenant enfoncé,
tirez délicatement sur le câble.
3. Saisissez le verrou et passez-le autour de l'object sélectionné pour former une
boucle.
4. Insérez le verrou dans l'orifice pratiqué au dos du boîtier, tel que représenté.
Passez le câble autour d'une partie de l'objet pour empêcher tout voleur potentiel
de retirer le câble en le faisant glisser (le pied d'une table ou d'un bureau pourvu
d'une traverse ou la poignée d'un tiroir).
Changement de la combinaison de la Serrure de Sécurité Portable
1. En utilisant un petit tournevis plat ou tout autre objet similaire, enfoncer l'extrémité et effectuer une rotation de 90
degrés de la vis Reset dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d'une montre de sorte que la cannelure de la vis apparaisse
verticalement et alignée avec la rangée de la combinaison comme montré.
2. Entrer la nouvelle combinaison avec les chiffres.
3. En utilisant un petit tournevis plat ou tout autre objet similaire, faire pivoter la vis reset de 90 degrés dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre de sorte
que la cannelure de la vis apparaisse horizontalement.
4. Appuyer et tenir les boutons de verrouillage de la serrure et insérer la Serrure de Sécurité Portable dans votre iPod.
5. Tourner les chiffres pour annuler votre combinaison.
REMARQUE: TENIR FERMEMENT LA SERRURE DE SECURITE PORTABLE POUR UNE MEILLEUR STABILITE LORSQUE VOUS METTEZ OU ENLEVER LA SERRURE.

4. Retirez le Mobile Security Lock du connecteur 30 broches de votre iPod.
