We, the TECH company, Batorego Street 14, 34-120 Andrychów,
declare with absolute liability, that these thermoregulators ST-22,
ST-24, ST-30, ST-80 230V, 50Hz produced by our company,
fulfill the requirements of the Minister of Economy, Labour and
Social Policy (Dz. U.03.49.414) from 12th March 2003
implementing the provisions of Low Voltage Directive (LVD)
2006/95/WE, and Ordinance of the Minister of Infrastructure
(Dz. U.03.90.848) from 02.04.2003 implementing the provisions of
Directive EMC 89/336EWG.
Controllers ST-22, ST-24, ST-30, ST-80 were positively
examined according to EMC compatibility with optimum
electrical loads.
To conformity assessment there were used harmonized standards
PN-EN 60730-2-1:2002

Attention!

supply (connecting wires, installation of the device,
etc.) it is necessary to make sure that the regulator is
not connected to the grid!
Assembly and installation should only be carried out by
a qualified electrician.
Before activating the controller it is necessary to do the
measurement of the effectiveness of the resetting
electric motors, the boiler and the measurement
insulation of electric wires.

Maintenance
In the ST 22, 24 30, 80 controllers one should inspect the state of the electric
wires before the heating season and during it. The mounting of the controller
should also be checked, it should be also cleaned and dust must be removed.
Besides, check the grounding of the pump and ventilator motors.

Operation principle
Microprocessor regulator ST-22. 24, 30, 80 is constructed for the purpose of
a central heating boiler regulation – a boiler equipped with a ventilator and a
central heating pump. Its aim is to sustain the setup temperature by means of a
ventilator usage. When the controller works during the ignition function whilst
the boiler temperature is lower than 20oC, then for switching on the controller
(ventilator) press – it will result in lighting an indicator meaning manual
work. The function will be active till the water temperature reaches the setup
temperature. Another press of the button results in deactivation of this function.
After having reached the setup temperature, the controller starts working in the
sustain function. In this function the controller steers blows of the ventilator
varying their frequency according to a client’s setup and the kind of fuel.
Controller functions
Revolutions regulation function (this function can be started by pressing the
“Opcje” button – the indicator “Reg. obrotów” lights up. This function controls the
speed of the ventilator revolutions. The range of regulation is between 1 – 6 or,
depending on the program 1 – 10 (it can be called gear shift). The higher gear,
the quicker rotates the ventilator turbine. 1 is the lowest gear and 6 or 10 is the
highest. The speed of the ventilator rotations depends on the revolutions
regulation function setup. The function prevents from douting of the fire inside
the boiler. The gear shift of the ventilator can be proceeded by the
buttons. After having reached the setup temperature, the boiler starts operation
in the sustain mode. For the proper boiler work the client sets up two parameters
(the ventilator work and the ventilator pause).
Ventilator work function (“Praca przedm.”) is the time (in seconds) in which
the ventilator works. This option is used for setup of the ventilator operation time
during the sustain mode.
Ventilator pause function (“Przerwa przedm.”) is the time (in minutes) of the
ventilator stoppage between its blows.
Functions, that are setup in these two menus are used for boiler operation
regulation during the sustain mode.

ATTENTION: Improper setup of the two functions may cause a constant
temperature increase! Especially, the ventilator pause should not be too short
and the ventilator work should not be too long.
Setup temperature function
Setup temperature is the temperature that is set up for the boiler. It can be
changed by the buttons (up) and (down). The temperature is changed
when the display pulses. After 4 sec. the display shows the boiler temperature.
Central heating pump control
Central heating pump control (“C.O.”). This function is used for switching on
or off the c/h pump depending on the temperature of the water in the boiler. The
pump switches on after having reached 30oC. Above the temperature, the pump
works constantly. The pump is switched off below 28 oC – this prevents the pump
from unnecessary operation.
Protection
The controller is equipped with diverse protection elements. Any errors are
displayed:
E4 – the maximum boiler temperature exceeded (setup at 85 oC)
E5 – the temperature sensor is damaged
In the both cases the ventilator switches off whilst the c/h pump switches on
(if the pump is not just working). In the case of E4 appearance, the alarm can be
deleted by pressing after the temperature decreases to the proper level.
Besides, the controller is protected by a bimetallic mini-sensor that cuts out the
electricity supply (at 85 oC), during the process the central heating pump still
works.
This type of the safety temperature limiter is a protection causing return to
the start position: automatic. The ST-22 controller includes a fuse WT 1,6A
protecting the grid. The regulators ST-23, 30, 80 are equipped with two fuses
1,6 protecting the grid. Usage of a higher value fuse may damage the controller.

 Any usage of a valve closing the central heating system is forbidden
 The controller cannot operate in closed central heating system. In the
system have to be mounted safety valves, pressure valves and an open
expansion vessel for prevention from water boiling in the system.
 The controller HAS TO BE connected to a grounded plug. During the
controller montage there should be a measure of the grounding efficiency
done. The electric wires cannot be vulnerable to temperatures exceeding
90oC. The wires must be isolated from those elements of the boiler that
heat up to high temperatures.
START/STOP
(function available depending on the version of the program)
The and buttons are used for switching on and off the ventilator during its
constant operation. If the boiler has reached 30 oC but have not increased up to
the setup boiler temperature, the button functions as the START/STOP one.
Thanks to this function the ventilator can be switched on or off during its
operation. This is signalized by pulsating light of the diode marked as “praca
ręczna” (manual operation). This function is available for more safe boiler usage
– the door of combustion chamber cannot be open during ventilator work.
