THE TIMEX MODEL 65 IS A 9% X 123 -4 LIGNE ELECTRONIC CALENDAR MOVE-
MENT WITH
THE ADDED FEATURE OF A SECOND HOUR HAND TO SHOW
THE TIME IN TWO ZONES SIMULTANEOUSLY.
THE BASIC MODEL 65 MOVEMENT IS SIMILAR TO THE TIMEX MODEL 50
MOVEMENT WITH SOME
PARTS AND ASSEMBLIES WHICH ARE DIFFERENT .
THE TIMEX CODE NUMBER APPE A RS ON THE EDGE OF THE DIAL.
THE CODE NUMBER SHOWS THE CATALOG NUMBER, MOVEMENT NUMBER
AND YEAR OF MANUFACTURE FOR THE WATCH ( SEE PAGE 1.1 OF THE TIMEX
SERVICE MANUAL FOR EXPLANATION).

D. Release the Crown and Stem
Assembly
by spreading both
sides of the Stem Bracket with
tweezers while pulling the Stem
out of the Case (see Figure 3).
E. Remove Crystal with crystal

To Remove Dial From Movement:
A. Remove Sweep Second Hand
and Minute Hand.
B. Straighten four tabs sufficiently
to release Dial from Movement
while holding Dial in place.
C. Turn assembly over and lif t off
Dial Assembly. Note position of
parts under Dial (see Figure 6).
The clutch mechanism which
permits. setting the time
differ-
ence between Hour Hands is
contained in the Dial Assembly.
D. Lift off in order :
Date Ring (Detent Spring will
move over).

THE MODEL65
The basic movement (Hands, Dial,
etc. removed) of the Model 65 is
cleaned and lubricated in the man-
ner described
for the Model 50 on
Page 50.12
of the Service Manual.
CAUTION: Extreme care must be
exercised when cleaning Cases,
Dials, Hands, special rings, etc.

The
Model 65 requires lubrication
in
addition to that applied in the
basic movement
as described
below :
A. Apply non spreading watch oil
(Moebius Synt-A-Lube Oil is
used in the factory) to the cen-
ter post and the post for the
Date
Wheel Assembly (see
Figure
7) .
B. During reassembly, apply non
spreading watch
oil to three
teeth
of the Date Ring and at
the end of the Detent Spring
where it engages the Date Ring
(see Figure 8) .
C. The Dial Rest has been coated
with a solid film lubricant and
needs ri0 further lubrication.

Reassembly of the Model
65
Movement
After
the basic movement
is
cleaned, lubricated
and
reassembled, the Model
65
is
reassembled as follows:
A.
Insert
Crown

Stem Assembly in movement
and
push in
while
rotating
to
engage
the
bracket
.
B. Position Center
Wheel
Assembly on Center
Post
and
engage
with

teeth.
