SlopeSafety
•Operatethemachineupanddownslopeswith
theheavyendofthemachineuphill.Weight
distributionchangeswithattachments.Anempty
load-bearingattachmentmakestherearofthe
machinetheheavyend,andafullload-bearing
attachmentmakesthefrontofthemachinethe
heavyend.Mostotherattachmentsmakethefront
ofmachinetheheavyend.
•Raisingorextending(ifapplicable)theloaderarms
onaslopeaffectsthestabilityofthemachine.

Keeptheloaderarmsintheloweredandretracted
positionwhenonslopes.
•Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtolossofcontrol
andtip-overaccidents,whichcanresultinsevere
injuryordeath.Operatingthemachineonany
slopeoruneventerrainrequiresextracaution.
•Establishyourownproceduresandrulesfor
operatingonslopes.Theseproceduresmust
includesurveyingthesitetodeterminewhich
slopesaresafeformachineoperation.Always
usecommonsenseandgoodjudgmentwhen
performingthissurvey.
•Slowdownanduseextracareonhillsides.Ground
conditionscanaffectthestabilityofthemachine.
•Avoidstartingorstoppingonaslope.Ifthe
machinelosestraction,proceedslowly,straight
downtheslope.
•Avoidturningonslopes.Ifyoumustturn,turn
slowlyandkeeptheheavyendofthemachine
uphill.
•Keepallmovementsonslopesslowandgradual.
Donotmakesuddenchangesinspeedor
direction.
•Ifyoufeeluneasyoperatingthemachineona
slope,donotdoit.
•Watchforholes,ruts,orbumps,asuneventerrain
couldoverturnthemachine.Tallgrasscanhide
obstacles.
•Usecautionwhenoperatingonwetsurfaces.
Reducedtractioncouldcausesliding.
•Evaluatetheareatoensurethatthegroundis
stableenoughtosupportthemachine.
•Usecautionwhenoperatingthemachinenearthe
following:
–Drop-offs
–Ditches
–Embankments
–Bodiesofwater
Themachinecouldsuddenlyrolloverifatrack

Note:Thetreeforkisanexcellenttoolfortransporting
balledandcontainergrowntreesandshrubs.Youcan
alsousetheforktomoverocks.Maximumpayloadis
100kg(220lb).
1.Ifyourtractionunithasaspeedselectoranda
owdivider,movethespeedselectortothefast
(rabbit)positionandtheowdividertothe10
to11o’clockposition.
2.Pulltheauxiliary-hydraulicslevertotheoperator
griptoopenthetinesifnecessary.
3.Driveforwardandpositiontheobjecttobe
movedbetweentheforktines.
4.Pushtheauxiliary-hydraulicsvalveawayfrom
theoperatorgriptoclosetheforktinesaround
theobject.
Important:Becarefulnottosqueezeapot
orrootballtootightly.Usingthefullforceof
thetinesonatreemaydamagetherootball.
5.Raisetheloaderarmstolifttheobject.Keepit
asclosetothegroundaspossible.
6.Drivetothelocationwhereyouwanttoputthe
objectandloweritintoplace.
7.Releasetheobjectbypullingtheauxiliary
hydraulicslevertotheoperatorgrip.
TransportingtheTreeForks
1.Placetheforksonatrailerortruckcapableof
carryingthem.
2.Securelytietheforkstothetrailerortruckusing
tiestrapsappropriatefortheweightoftheforks
andforhighwayuse.
TransportPosition
Whentransportingaload,keeptheattachmentas
closetothegroundaspossible,nomorethan15cm
(6inches)abovetheground.Tiltitrearwardtokeep
theloadlevel.

ttings,kinkedlines,loosemountingsupports,
wear,weather,andchemicaldeterioration.
2.Makenecessaryrepairsbeforeoperatingthe
machine.
CAUTION
Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan
penetrateskinandcauseinjury.Fluidinjected
intotheskinmustbesurgicallyremoved
withinafewhoursbyadoctorfamiliarwith
thisformofinjury,otherwise,gangrenemay
result.
•Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrom
pinholeleaksornozzlesthateject
high-pressurehydraulicuid.
•Usecardboardorpapertondhydraulic
leaks;neveruseyourhands.
Storage
1.Beforelongtermstorage,washtheattachment
withmilddetergentandwatertoremovedirtand
grime.
2.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatisdamagedor
worn.
3.Ensurethatallhydrauliccouplersareconnected
togethertopreventcontaminationofthe
hydraulicsystem.
4.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paint
