stainless steel pistons, automatic cool down system,
detergent siphoning system, quick connect spray tips, safety

Your pressure washer requires some assembly and is ready
for useafter it has beenproperly serviced with the
recommendedoil and fuel.
If you haveanyproblems with the assemblyof your pressure

UnpackPressureWasher
1. Removethe parts bag,accessories, and inserts
included with pressurewasher.
2. Opencarton completely by cutting eachcorner from
top to bottom.
3. Ensureyou haveall included items prior to assembly.

To prepare yourpressurewasher for operation, youwill
need to perform these tasks:
1. Fill out and send in registration card.
2. Attach handleto main unit.
3. Add oil to engine crankcase.
4. Addfuel to fuel tank.
5. Connecthigh pressure hoseto spray gun and pump.
6. Connectwater supply to pump.
7. Attach nozzleextensionto spray gun.
8. Select/attachquick connect spray tip to nozzle
extension.
Attach Handleand Accessory Tray
1. Placehandle (A) onto handle supports (B) connectedto
main unit. Makesure holes (C) in handle align with
holes (C) on handlesupports.

NOTE:It may be necessaryto move the handle supports
from sideto side in order to align the handle so it will slide
over the handle supports.
2. insert carriage bolts (O) through holesfrom front of
unit and attacha plastic knob (E)from backof unit.
Tighten by hand.

Race accessorytray (F) over holes (G) on handle
(viewing from front of unit). Pushthe tree clips (H) into
the holes until they sit fiat against the accessorytray.
.insert spray gun holder wireform (J) through hole on
left side of handle(viewing from front of unit). Hold
wireform in place and attacha plastic knob (K) from
inside of unit. Tighten by hand.

5. Insert multi-colored spray tips and other supplied
accessoriesin spacesprovided in accessorytray. See
How to UseAccessory Tray.
Add EngineOil
1. Placepressure washer on a fiat, levelsurface.
2. Cleanareaaroundoil fill and removeyellow oil fill
cap/dipstick.
NOTE:See Oil Recommendationsin Maintenancesection.
Verify provided oil bottle is the correct viscosity for current
ambient temperature.
3. Using oil funnel (optional), slowly pour contents of
provided oil bottle into oil fill opening.
NOTICE

properlyservicedwiththerecommendedoil.Thismayresultin
anenginefailure.
4. Replaceoil fill cap/dipstick and fully tighten.
AddFuel
Fuel mustmeet these requirements:
•Clean,fresh, unleadedgasoline.
•A minimum of 87 octane/87AKI (91 RON).High
altitude use, seeHigh AIItitude.
Gasolinewith up to 10% ethanol (gasohoi) or up to
15% MTBE(methyl tertiary butyl ether) is acceptable.
NOTICE
Avoid pressure washer damage.
Failureto follow Operator's Manualfor fuel
recommendationsvoids warranty.
•DONOTuseunapprovedgasolinesuchasE85.
•DONOTmixoil in gasoline.
•DONOTmodifyengineto runonalternatefuels.
To protect the fuel system from gum formation, mix in a fuel
stabilizerwhen adding fuel. SeeStorage.All fuel is not the
same. If you experiencestarting or performanceproblems
after using fuel, switch to a different fuel provider or change
brands. This engine is certified to operateon gasoline. The
emission control system for this engine is EM (Engine
Modifications).

2. Cleanarea around fuel fill cap, remove cap.
Slowly add regular unleadedfuel (A) to fuel tank (B). Be
careful not to overfill. Allow about 1.5" (4 cm) (C) of
tank space for fuel expansion.
3. Install fuel capand let anyspilled fuel evaporatebefore
starting engine.
HighAltitude
At altitudes over 5,000 feet (1524 meters), a minimum
85 octane/85 AKI (89 RON)gasoline is acceptable.To
remainemissions compliant, high altitude adjustment is
required.Operationwithout this adjustment will cause
decreasedperformance, increasedfuel consumption, and
increasedemissions. Seean Authorized Briggs & Stratton
dealerfor high altitude adjustment information. Operationof
the engine at altitudes below 2,500 feet (762 meters) with
the high altitude kit isnot recommended.

NOTE:Removeand discard the shipping caps from the
pump's high pressure outlet and water inlet before attaching
hoses.
1. Uncoil high pressure hoseand attachone end of hose
to base of spray gun. Tighten by hand.
WARNING

= Keephigh pressure hose connectedto pump and spraygun
while systemis pressurized.

2. Attach other end of high pressure hoseto high
pressure outlet on pump. Tighten by hand.
3. Beforeconnecting garden hoseto water inlet, inspect
inlet screen (A). Cleanscreen if it contains debris or
haveit replacedif damaged.DONOTrun pressure
washer if inlet screen is damaged.
4. Run water through your garden hosefor 30 secondsto
cleanout anydebris.
iMPORTANT:DONOTsiphon standing water for thewater
supply. UseONLYcold water (less than 100°F (38°C)).
5. Connectthe garden hose (not to exceed50 feet (15 m)
in length) to the water inlet. Tighten by hand.
NOTICE
Using a One Way Valve (vacuum breaker or check valve)
at pump inlet can cause pump or inlet connector damage.
= ThereMUST beat leastten feet (3 m) of unrestricted garden
hose betweenthe pressure washer inlet and any device,such as
avacuum breakeror checkvalve.
= Damageto equipment resultingfrom failure to follow this
instruction will void warranty.
6. Turn ONthe water and squeezethe trigger on the spray
gun to purge the pump system of air and impurities.

Checklist Before Starting Engine
Reviewthe unit's assembly to ensureyou haveperformed all
of the following.
1. Be sureto readthe OperatorSafetysection and How to
Use Your Pressure Washerin Operationsection before
using pressurewasher.
2. Make sure handle is in placeand secure.
3. Checkthat oil hasbeen addedto proper levelin the
engine crankcase.
4. Addproper fuel to fuel tank.
5. Checkfor properly tightened hoseconnections.
6. Checkto make sure there are no kinks, cuts, or damage
to high pressure hose.
7. Provide a proper water supply at an adequateflow.

Howto StartYourPressureWasher
To start your pressure washer for thefirst time, follow these
instructions step-by-step. This starting information also
applies if you havelet the pressure washer sit idle for at least
a day.
1. Placepressure washer near an outside water source
capableof supplying water at a flow rategreaterthan
3.3 gallons per minute (12.5 liters per minute) and no
less than 20 PSI (1.38 BARS)at pressure washer end
of garden hose. DONOTsiphon supply water.
2. Checkthat high pressure hoseistightly connectedto

7. Apply detergent to a dry surface, starting at lower
portion of areato be washedand work upward, using
long, even,overlapping strokes.
8. Allow detergent to "soak in"for 3-5 minutes before
washing and rinsing. Reapplyas neededto prevent
surfacefrom drying. DONOTallow detergentto dry on
(prevents streaking).
IMPORTANT:You must flush the detergent siphoning
system after each useby placingthe filter into a bucket of
cleanwater, then run the pressure washer in low pressure
for 1-2 minutes.

Examinethe filter on the detergent tube and clean ifclogged.
Thetube should fit tightly on the barbed fitting. Examinethe
tube for leaks or tears. Replacethe filter or tube if either is
damaged.
CheckSpay Gunand NozzleExtension
Examinethe hose connection to the spray gun and make
sure it is secure.Test thetrigger by pressing it and making
sure it "springs back" into placewhenyou releaseit. Putthe
trigger lock in the ONposition and test the trigger. You
should not be able to press the trigger.
Nozzle Maintenance
A pulsing sensationfelt while squeezingthe spray gun
trigger may be caused by excessivepump pressure. The
principal causeof excessivepump pressure is a spray tip
clogged or restricted with foreign materials, such asdirt, etc.
To correct the problem, immediatelycleanthe spray tip
following these instructions:
1. Shut off engine and turn off water supply.

8. Reconnect nozzleextensionto spray gun.
9. Makesure garden hose is connected to water inlet.
Check that high pressure hose is connected to spray
gun and pump. Turnon water.
10. Engagetrigger lockon spray gun and start engine
following instructions How to Start Your Pressure
Washer.
11. Test pressurewasher by operatingwith eachquick
connect spray tip.

Purchasean O-Ring/Maintenance Kit, model 6048 by
contacting the nearestauthorized service center. It is not
included with the pressurewasher. This kit includes

Checking Oil Level

Replaceand tighten dipstick. Removeand and check oil
level.
3. Verify oil is at "Fulr' mark on dipstick. Replaceand

Adding Engine Oil
