“Safety Standards for Mechanical Power Transmission Apparatus,” and
ANSI/ASME B20.1- 2012 “Safety Standards for Conveyors and Related
Equipment,” or other applicable safety standards. When revisions of
thesestandardsarepublished,theupdatededitionshallapply.
2.Always lock outthe power switchbeforeinstalling,removing,lubricating
orservicingasystem whichusesPTUCproduct.
3.Whenconnecting or disconnectingPTUCproducts,eyeprotectionisrequired.
Wearsafety glasses, protectiveclothing, gloves andsafetyshoes.
4.Improperinstallationormounting, as wellas operatingconditions andmaintenance,
can affectthe performance ofacamclutch.Thecamclutchshouldbeinspectedregularly.
“PTUC is used by U.S. Tsubaki to designate “Power Transmission Unit Components.”

3. Beforeinstallation,verifythatthedirectionofrotationofinnerraceoftheCamClutch(shownbythearrowontheinnerrace)isthesameasthe
directionofrotationofthe conveyor.
4. WheninsertingtheCamClutchontheshaft,applypressureonlyonthesurfaceoftheinnerracewithasofthammer.
Neverstrikethe CamClutchwith asteel hammer orapply unnecessary impact loads.
5. Alwaysuseaparallelkeyforinstallationontotheshaft andthenfixtheCamClutchtotheshaftwiththeendplate.
Neverusetaperedkey whichgive the damagetoCamClutch.
6. Use the frameor pin toeliminate outer race rotation.
7. Set0.5 mmclearancebetweenthetorquearmandflame(torquearmstopper)orlongslitinthetorquearmandthepin.
Ifthetorquearmisrigidlymounted, it will applyaloadto CamClutch whichmayeventuallydamage it.
8. TheCamClutchispre-lubricatedwithlowtemperaturegreasebeforeshipmentandisreadyforinstallationandoperation.
Nolubricationmaintenanceisrequired.Theambientoperationaltemperaturerangeis-40 ℉ to+122 ℉ ( － 40 ° Cto50 ° C).
However, the maximum temperature should be determineddepending on therotatingspeedofthe inner race.
Further,if the rotatingspeed islow,ahigher ambientoperationaltemperature isallowable.Please consultTsubaki formoredetail.
