TUNAP. We have implemented the most up-to-date technology within the injector cleaning sector in the TUNAP ICM
Cleaning System. This enables you to achieve the best cleaning results and the highest level of customer satisfaction, while
simultaneously sustainably reducing cost. Please carefully observe the summarised information and advice within these
operating instructions/manufacturer's specifications in order to utilise the system's full range of functions.
The information provided within these operating instructions is the result of careful testing. Information regarding application
is to be considered as recommendation based on knowledge and experience. We cannot assume a liability in light of
the product's versatility in terms of use and application. No contractual relationship is therefore created, and no ancillary
obligations arise from any contract of sale. The operating instructions are only valid in their most current form.
Please carefully read the operating instructions/manufacturer's specifications in full before you
use the TUNAP ICM 2020 Cleaning System for the first time.
The TUNAP ICM 2020 Cleaning System is solely for professional use by the motor industry and
is approved for the following cleaning purposes:
• Cleaning of injection systems of diesel vehicles
• Cleaning of injection systems of petrol vehicles
You must adhere to the safety precautions in order to avoid damage to the device and the injection
system being cleaned, as well as avoiding personal injury.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CLEANING SYSTEM
• Observe the current safety data sheet.
• You must wear safety goggles, gloves and the appropriate protective clothing when
using the cleaning system.
• Suitably protect plastics and paints prior to contact with the cleaning liquid.
• The ICM 2020 Cleaning System is only approved for use with the microflex® 938
Injector Intensive Cleaner Diesel and the microflex® 937 Injector Intensive Cleaner
Petrol. The use of non-approved cleaning chemicals can cause operational or safety-
relevant problems.
• Maintenance and servicing can only be carried out by the manufacturer of the cleaning system. Please contact the
dealer for more information.
• To guarantee safety, only use original TUNAP spare parts and accessories.
• Never use the cleaning system within an explosive environment.
• If there is damage to the connection hoses or a connection cable (power supply), they must be replaced immediately.

incomplete, please contact TUNAP.
• Prior to its first use, check the device and connection cables for possible defects or damage.
• Should you determine defects or damage, please contact the dealer and do not use the device.

• Use the microflex® 937 Injector Intensive Cleaner Petrol
exclusively for cleaning petrol injector systems.
• Use the microflex® 938 Injector Intensive Cleaner Diesel
exclusively for cleaning diesel injector systems.
• Cleaning takes place via the TUNAP CM 2020 Cleaning
System item no. 1400850, without the removal of the
injectors.
• Before separating fuel lines, ensure that the lines are not
under pressure.
• Before working on the fuel system, observe the
manufacturer's specifications.
• Wear suitable protective clothing, protective gloves and
safety goggles / facial protection when working.
• Only connect to 12V DC. Protect cables so that they
do not become fragile or frayed.
• Do not open the device and tamper with the internal
components.
• Do not let the hoses come into contact with hot
surfaces.
• Should the engine run hot, turn it off, turn the device off
and release the pressure.
• Release the pressure from the device before separating
the connection hoses.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• Do not expose the device to temperatures above
50 °C / 122 °F.
• Should flammable liquids come into contact with the
device, wipe them off immediately and maintain drying
time before using the device again.
• Do not use the device as a storage area and do not
make abrupt movements (e.g. allow it to fall).
• Do not smoke when using the device.
• Stand the device on a secure and flat surface.
• The engine should be operationally warm prior to
cleaning.
• Test drive after cleaning. Read out the fault memory
and reset it.
• After cleaning, regularly add microflex® 974 Injector
Direct-Protection Petrol or microflex® 984 Injector
Direct-Protection Diesel to the tank as a preventative
measure.
Maintenance:
• Replace the filter every 6 months or after 50 uses,
whichever first arises. Filter spare part number
1400901.
• Should the device not be used for more than
one week, all liquids should be pumped out of
the device.

vehicle or form a closed circuit.

connect the inflow.
• Always ensure that either the pre-
feed pump is disconnected from
the vehicle or a closed circuit has
been created.
• If a vehicle is to be connected
with several return flows, ensure
that the ICM 2020 is connected
after the intersection.

In internal spaces:
Connect the exhaust to
an extraction system
Recommendation:
Read the injector values and injection times
beforehand and compare with those after. As a
result you can check the efficacy of the cleaning.
The cleaning liquid should never flow through the filter. If it is
not possible to connect it any other way, always change the
filter beforehand.

• Fill the ICM 2020 up with the
937 (petrol) or 938 (diesel).
When first filling the device, it is
recommended to use two doses.
• Ensure that there is enough
cleaning liquid in the tank. If the
warning alarm sounds during
cleaning as a result of a low fill
volume, you can add a dose
when in operation.

vehicle's 12 V battery (do
not connect directly to the
charging device). Ensure that
the red cable is connected to
the + pole and the black cable
is connected to the - pole of
the battery.

• Ensure that you have correctly
connected the ICM 2020 to the vehicle
(see Connection Options).
• Press ON and hold.
• Whilst doing this, turn the
pressure regulator clockwise
until the pressure builds up.
• Then you can let ON go.

neutral (ensure that the pipes
from the tank are all sealed).
• Ensure that the pressure is
being maintained.

ICM 2020 sounds an alarm (turn the
engine off and then the device).

5 minutes to the cleaning time. - To return
to 5 minutes, hold the button for 2 seconds.
• Preventative cleaning 10 min.
