Ground  ng (Recommended)
The Power Adapter grounds the dev  ce; however, you can add opt  onal ESD ground  ng
for enhanced ESD protect  on.
1. Attach the Ground Screw to secure a ground w  re (not  ncluded) to the Ground  ng
Po  nt.
2. Opt  onal: To secure the Power Adapter cord,  nsert  t  nto the Cable Cl  p and secure
the Cable Cl  p us  ng the Ground Screw.
3. Secure the other end of the ground w  re to a ground  ng block.

Access  ng the EdgeOS Conf  gurat  on Interface
The EdgeOS® conf  gurat  on  nterface can be accessed v  a DHCP or stat  c IP address
ass  gnment. By default, eth1  s set up as a DHCP cl  ent, wh  le eth0  s ass  gned a stat  c IP
address of 192.168.1.1. To conf  gure the EdgeRouter, proceed to the appropr  ate
sect  on: DHCP or “Stat  c IP Address” .
DHCP
1. Connect an Ethernet cable from eth1 on the EdgeRouter to a LAN segment that has
an ex  st  ng DHCP server.
2. To check the IP address of the EdgeRouter, use one of the follow  ng methods:
Set up the DHCP server to prov  de a spec  f  c IP address to the EdgeRouter based
on  ts MAC address (on the label).

Let the EdgeRouter obta  n an IP address and then check the DHCP server to see
wh  ch IP address was ass  gned.
3. Launch your web browser. Enter the appropr  ate IP address  n the address f  eld. Press
enter (PC) or return (Mac).
4. Enter ubnt  n the Username and Password f  elds. Read the Ub  qu  t  L  cense
Agreement, and check the box next to I agree to the terms of th  s L  cense
Agreement to accept  t. Cl  ck Log  n.

1. Connect an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on your computer to the port
labeled eth0 on the EdgeRouter.
2. Conf  gure the Ethernet adapter on your host system w  th a stat  c IP address on the
192.168.1.x subnet.
3. Launch your web browser. Type https://192.168.1.1  n the address f  eld. Press enter
(PC) or return (Mac).
