through installation andalso includeswarrantyterms.

Hardware Installation
1. ConnectanEthernetcable(not included)tothe Ethernet
Port.
2. Connect the other endof the Ethernet cable toa porton a
networkswitch,such as aUniFiPoESwitch.
Powering the UniFi Cloud Key
Usean802.3af-compliantswitch,suchasaUniFiPoESwitch,or
aUSBpower source (notincluded).

Optional Rackmount Accessory
Note: If using the optional Rackmount Accessory (sold
separately), remove the protective film from the
Rackmount Connector before attaching to the rackmount.
There is an optional UniFi Rackmount Accessory (sold
separately)thatcanmounttheCloudKeyGen2inastandard
19” rack.

To install the Rackmount Accessory, follow these instructions:
1. AttachtheRackmountAccessorytotherackusingfour
Mounting Screws.(Iftherackhassquareslots,thenuse
Cage Nuts withtheMounting Screws.)

2. ConnectanEthernetcable(not included)tothe Ethernet
Port onthefrontof the Rackmount Accessory.
3. Connect the other endof the Ethernet cable toa porton a
compatible PoEswitch,suchas aUniFiPoESwitch.
4. Removethepre-installedstickerfromthe13-pinconnector.

5. Insert the Cloud Key Gen2 into the docking bayonce the
following three conditions are met:
a. The13-pinconnectorisfaceup
b. The LCD screen is faceforward
c. Thereisno Ethernet cable connected tothe
Ethernet Port on the Cloud Key Gen2
Warning: Toprevent creating a loop or other
unfavorable behavior on the network, only one
Ethernetconnectionshouldbeused.Donotuse
theEthernetportontheCloudKeyGen2andthe
Rackmount Accessorysimultaneously.

Setting Up UniFi SDN via App
Download and install the UniFi SDN app to configure the
Cloud Key Gen2.
Note: Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on
your mobile device. You will needto setupthe
Cloud Key Gen2 with your mobile device and
bewithin 1.5m (5’) fromwhere itisinstalled.
1. Launch the app and tap the+icon to adda newcontroller.

2. Once detected, the appwill automatically connect tothe
Cloud Key Gen2 and the LED will begin to flash blue. If
morethan one controller isdetected,swipe through the
app screens horizontally until you locate the correct
CloudKeyGen2.ThentapSet upthiscontroller.
3. Once connected, the corresponding Controller Setup screen
will appear.Enter a namefor theUniFi SDNcontroller
and select the appropriate Country and Time Zone
information.When you are finished, tap Next.

4. When the Cloud Controller Access screen appears, select the
services you wish to enable by tapping the toggle switch
toon,foreachofthefollowingitems:Enable Cloud Access,
AllowLocalLoginwithSSO,andEnableUniFiProtect.When
you arefinished, tap Next.
Note: To ensure continuous accessibility to the
Cloud Key Gen2 once setup is complete, turn
theCloudAccessoptionon.Enable CloudAccess,
alongwithAllow Local Login with SSO,will onlybe
availableiftheCloudKeyGen2hasaccesstothe
internet duringsetup.

5. WhentheAdopt Devices screenappears,tapthedevice(or
devices)youwish toadopt.To skiptheadoptionprocess,
tap Finishand proceed to step 8.
6. Onceyou’ve selectedoneormoreUniFiAccessPoints
to adopt, an additional step will be added to the setup
process allowing youtocreateawirelessnetwork. Tap
Next tocontinue.

7. WhentheAdd Wireless Network screenappears,tapthe
toggleswitch toonandcreate a wireless network name
andpassword.Whenyouarefinished,tapFinish.
Note:Youmayalsocreateanoptionalguest
networkbytappingtheEnableGuestAccess
toggle switch to on and following the on-
screeninstructions.
8. Leavethe appopenuntil theconfiguration process is
complete.

9. Installationisnowcomplete.WhentheSetup Complete
screen appears, tap Done.
10. The Cloud Key Gen2will nowappearinthelist of
available controllers.

Chrome Instructions
Use the Chrome web browser to set up your
Cloud Key Gen2.
1. EnsurethatyourhostsystemisonthesameLayer-2
networkas the Cloud KeyGen2.
2. LaunchtheChromewebbrowserandtypetheIP address
ofyourCloud Key Gen2into the address field.
Press enter (PC) or return (Mac).
Note:The IP addressofyourcontrollercan
be found on the front panel LCD of your
Cloud KeyGen2.
3. Whenthefollowingsplashscreenappears,clickLaunch,
underUniFi SDN,to setup yourUniFi SDNcontroller.

Setting Up UniFi SDN
1. WhentheUniFiSetupWizardscreenappears,selectyour
countryandtimezone andclick Next.
2. Select eachofthedevices youwouldlike toconfigure
and clickNext.
3. If configuring a UniFi access point during setup, a
Configure WiFi screenwillpromptyoutocreateawireless
networkname(SSID)andpassword.Ifyouwanttoskipthis
stepandsetyouraccesspointupatalatertime,clickSkip.

4. OntheControllerAccess screen,createanadminaccount
fortheSDNcontrollerandclick Next.
5. Confirm your SDN settings and click Finish. Toupdate
anyofthesesettings,clickBacktovisitaprevioussection
andmakethenecessarychanges.Whenyoureturntothis
screen, clickFinish.
6. Enter the login credentials for your UBNTaccount and
clickEnableCloudAccess.Ifyoudonothaveanaccount,
click Register Nowand follow theon-screenprompts to
create one.
