Bootup to a  rOS When power  ng on, the Power, GPS, L  nk, and S  gnal 1-4 LEDs l  ght
on. Once the CPU code takes over, the GPS, L  nk, and S  gnal 1-3 LEDs turn off. The
S  gnal 4 LED rema  ns on to  nd  cate the boot sequence  s underway.
In  t  al  z  ng a  rF  ber Software When the a  rF  ber appl  cat  on beg  ns to boot under
a  rOS®, the S  gnal 4 LED goes from sol  dly on to a 2.5 Hz ash. Th  s cont  nues unt  l
the AF-5XHD  s fully booted.
S  gnal Level Once fully booted, the S  gnal 1-4 LEDs act as a bar graph show  ng how
close the AF-5XHD  s to  deal a  m  ng. Th  s  s auto-scaled based on the l  nk range, the
antenna ga  ns, and the conf  gured TX power of the remote AF-5XHD. Each S  gnal
LED has three poss  ble states: On, Flash  ng, and Off. All S  gnal LEDs would be sol  dly
on  n an  deal l  nk. If the l  nk has a 1 dB loss, the S  gnal 4 LED w  ll ash; a 2 dB loss
and the S  gnal 4 LED w  ll turn off. The full bar graph LED states are shown below.

Management  s d  sabled, the MGMT port  s the only port that can mon  tor,
conf  gure, and/or update f  rmware. Th  s port can also be used to prov  de redundant
PoE power. Default IP address: 192.168.2.20
To reset to factory defaults, press and hold the Reset button for more than 10
seconds wh  le the dev  ce  s powered on.

Connect the a  rF  ber PoE Adapter to the Data port, and connect your computer to
the MGMT port.
Conf  gure the AF-5XHD.
Recommended: Install the IP67 Upgrade K  t (  ncluded) to prevent  ntrus  on by water,
dust, and  nsects.
Install a ground w  re and mount the AF-5XHD on an a  rF  ber X or RocketD  sh
antenna.
At the  nstallat  on s  te,  nstall the a  rF  ber X or RocketD  sh antenna w  th the mounted
AF-5XHD rad  o (see the antenna’s Qu  ck Start Gu  de for  nstallat  on  nstruct  ons).
Secure the ground w  re and mount the GPS antenna.
Establ  sh and opt  m  ze the RF l  nk.

Frequency Sett  ng The operat  ng Frequency must be the same on both the Master
and the Slave.
There are two methods for conf  gurat  on:

1. Launch the UNMS app.
2. Opt  onal: Enable Bluetooth on your mob  le dev  ce.
Note: By default, Bluetooth  s enabled on the AF-5XHD.
3. On the Connect  ons screen, select the AF-5XHD.
4. Enter ubnt  n the Username and Password f  elds. Select your Country and Language.
You must agree to the Terms of Use to use the product.
Note: U.S. product vers  ons are locked to the U.S. Country Code to ensure
compl  ance w  th FCC regulat  ons.
5. On the Summary screen, tap Conf  gurat  on, and then tap W  reless.
Note: UNMS screens shown here are from the  OS-based app. The Andro  d-
based app d  ffers sl  ghtly  n appearance and operat  on.
6. Conf  gure these sett  ngs:
a. On one AF-5XHD, enable Master Mode; on the other AF-5XHD, keep the default
sett  ng (Off) for Master Mode.
b. Enter a name  n the L  nk Name f  eld. Th  s should be the same on both the Master
and the Slave.
c. Select your Country.
Note: U.S. product vers  ons are locked to the U.S. Country Code to ensure
compl  ance w  th FCC regulat  ons.

d. If needed, change the Channel Bandw  dth, Frequency, Output Power (EIRP),
Antenna Ga  n, and Max TX Modulat  on sett  ngs. The Channel Bandw  dth and
Frequency should be the same on both the Master and the Slave.
e. In the Secur  ty Key f  eld, enter a comb  nat  on of alphanumer  c characters (0-9, A-
Z, or a-z).
7. Cl  ck Save Changes.
8. Conf  gure each a  rF  ber rad  o w  th a un  que IP address for the Data port:
a. Tap Conf  gurat  on, and then tap Network.
b. For both the Data LAN Network and Management Network opt  ons:
DHCP Have your router use DHCP reservat  on to ass  gn a un  que IP Address.
Stat  c Change the IP Address, Netmask, and other sett  ngs to make them
compat  ble w  th your network.
Note: The key  s an alphanumer  c password between 8 and 63 characters
long.

192.168.2.x subnet.
3. Launch your web browser. In the address f  eld, type the address of the port you are
us  ng to manage the dev  ce:
