1Introduction
You have made a good choice by purchasing the
UNICRAFT Sandblasting Cabinet.
Read the operating manual thoroughly before commissioning
the machine.
It gives you information about the proper commission-
ing, intended use and safe and efficient operation and
maintenance of your sandblasting cabinet.
The operating manual is part of the Sandblasting
Cabinet. Always keep this operating manual in the loca-
tion where your Sandblasting Cabinet is being
operated. All local accident prevention regulations and
general safety instructions for the operating range of
your Sandblasting Cabinet must also be complied with.

may be used in conjunction with the operation of the
Sandblasting Cabinet. Any application beyond those
described is not permitted without the written approval
of Stürmer GmbH.

2 Safety
This section provides an overview of all important safety
packages for the protection of operating personnel as
well as for safe and fault-free operation. Other task-
based safety notes are included in the paragraphs of
the individual phases of life.
2.1 Symbol explanation
Safety instructions
The safety notes in these operating instructions are
high- lightet by symbols. The safety notes are introdu-
ced by signal words which express the concern of the
risk.
DANGER!
This combination of symbol and signal words indi-
cates an imminently dangerous situation which may
lead to death or severe injuries if they are not
avoided.

Safety
Tips and recommendations
It is necessary to observe the safety notes written in
these operating instructions in order to reduce the risk of
personal injuries and damages to property.
2.2 Obligations of the operating company
The operator is the person who operates the machine
for commercial or economic purposes himself or leaves
it to a third for use or application and bears the legal
product responsibility for the protection of the user, per-
sonnel or third during operation.
If the sandblasting cabinet is used for commercial pur-
poses, the operating company of the sandblasting cabi-
net must comply with the legal working safety regula-
tions. Therefore, the safety notes in this operating
manual, as well as the safety, accident prevention and
environment protection regulations applying for the area
of application of the sandblasting cabinet must be met.
The following applies in particular:
- The operating company must be informed about
the applying industrial safety regulations and fur-
ther analyse hazards resulting from the special
working conditions at the place of use sandblast-
ing cabinet. She must implement these in form of
operating manuals for the operation of the sand-
blasting cabinet.
- During the entire lifetime of the sandblasting cabi-
net, the operating company must verify whether
the operating manuals prepared by her corre-
spond to the current status of the regulations, and
must adapt these if necessary.
- The operating company must unambiguously reg-
ulate and determine the responsibilities for instal-
lation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance
and cleaning.
- The operating company must ensure that all per-
sons who work with the sandblasting cabinet,
have read and understood this manual. Further-
more she must instruct the staff in regular intervals
and inform them about the hazards.
- The operator must provide the necessary protec-
tive equipment to the staff and order the use of the
necessary protective equipment in a binding way.
Furthermore the operating company is responsible to
keep the sandblasting cabinet always in a technically
flawless state. Thus, the following applies:
- The operator must ensure that the maintenance in-
tervals described in this manual are kept.
- The operator must have all safety devices
checked regularly for their good working order
and their integrity.
2.3 Requirements to staff
The different tasks described in this manual represent
different requirements to the qualification of the persons
entrusted with these tasks.
Only persons reliable working procedures can be ex-
pected from, are allowed to perform all works. Persons
the responsiveness of which is affected by e. g. drugs,
alcohol or medication, are not allowed to work with the
machine.
The qualifications of the personnel for the different tasks
are mentioned below:

WARNING!
Danger due to insufficient qualification of persons!
Insufficiently qualified persons cannot estimate the
risks while using the machine and expose them-
selves and others to the danger of severe or lethal
injuries.
- Have all works only performed by qualified per-
sons.
- Keep insufficiently qualified persons out of the
working area.

Operator:
The operator is instructed by the operating company
about the assigned tasks and possible risks in case of
improper behaviour. Any tasks which need to be per-
formed beyond the operation in the standard mode
must only be performed by the operator if it is indicated
in these instructions and if the operating company ex-
pressively commissioned the operator.
Electrician:
The electrician is due to their professional training,
knowledge and experience as well as knowledge of the
relevant standards and regulations able to work on
electrical systems and independently recognize and
avoid possible dangers. The electrician is specially
trained for the work environment in which he works and
knows the relevant standards and regulations.
Qualified personnel:
Due to their professional training, knowledge and expe-
rience as well as their knowledge of relevant regulations
the specialist staff is able to perform the assigned tasks
and to recognise and avoid any possible dangers them-
selves.
Manufacturer:
Certain works may only be performed by specialist per-
sonnel of the manufacturer. Other personnel is not au-
thorized to perform these works. Please contact our cus-
tomer service for the execution of all arising work.
2.4 Personal protective equipment
The personal protective equipment serves to protect
persons against impairments of safety and health while
working. The staff member has to wear personal protec-
tive equipment while performing different tasks on and
with the machine which are indicated in the individual
paragraphs of these instructions.
The personal protective equipment is explained in the
following paragraph:
2.5 Safety Information
The sandblast cabin has a number of safety markings
that must be observed and followed.
The safety labels must not be removed. Damaged or
missing safety markings can lead to malfunctions, per-
sonal injury and material damage. They are to be re-
placed immediately.
If the safety markings are not immediately recognizable
and comprehendible, the sandblasting cabinet should
be taken out of service until new safety markings have
been made.
Head protection
The industrial helmet protects the head against fall-
ing objects and hitting on fixed objects.
Ear protection
The hearing protection protects against damages of
hearing due to noise.
Respiratory protection
The respiratory protection protects the respiratory
tract against the ingress of dust and small foreign
bodies.
Use safety glasses!
The protective goggles serve to protect the eyes
against parts flying off.
Protective gloves
The protective gloves serve to protect the hands
against sharp components as well as against fric-
tion, abrasions or deep injuries.
Safety boots
The safety boots protect the feet against crushes,
falling parts and slipping over on slippery under-
ground.
Protective clothes
Protective clothes are made of a tightly fitted fabric
without the protruding parts of low tear strength.

Intended use
The following safety labels and symbols are appropri-
ate:

3 Intended use
The sandblasting cabinet SSK 1/SKK 1.5 must only be
used to Rust removal and cleaning of metal surfaces
with air tools using sandblasting
with grain size of
0,12 -
0,25 mm (SSK1) and 0,12 - 0,18 mm (SSK 1.5).The wor-
king pressure may be max. 8,6 bar(SSK1) and max. 7,9
bar (SSK 1.5) amount. The work may only be carried out
in the closed box, where careful attention must be paid
to absolute tightness.
The sandblasting cabin may only be operated by per-
sons who have been instructed in this product.
Proper use also includes compliance with all information
in this manual. Any use beyond the intended use or
otherwise is considered misuse.
For structural and technical changes to the sand blas-
ting cabin, the company Stürmer Maschinen GmbH as-
sumes no liability.
Claims of any kind due to damage due to improper use are
excluded.

Delivery
Check the sandblasting cabin for visible transport
damage after delivery. If you discover any damage,
immediately report it to the transport company or the
dealer.
Transport
The sandblasting cabinet may only be transported up-
right. The sandblasting cabins must not be stacked on
top of each other. Also, no other objects may be parked
on them.For transport, the sandblasting cabinet is on a
pallet. The pallet must be secured in the loading area in
accordance with the regulations. To protect against mo-
isture and dirt, all bare metal parts are greased.
Transport with a forklift / pallet truck:
For transport with a sufficiently dimensioned pallet truck
or forklift, the sandblasting booth must be secured on a
flat, firm surface (for example on a pallet) secured with
bolts.
Packaging
All used packaging materials and packaging aids are
recyclable and should be taken to a materials recycling
depot to be disposed of.The delivery packaging is
made of cardboard, so please dispose carefully by hav-
ing it chopped up and given to the recycling collection.
The film is made of polyethylene (PE) and the cushioned
parts of polystyrene (PS). These materials should be
taken to a collection point for recyclable materials or to
the local waste disposal company.
Storage
The sand blasting cabinet should be cleaned and then
stored in a dry, frost-free environment.

Assembly
and connecting
The sandblasting cabinet may only be set up and
operated in dry, well-ventilated rooms.It must be set up
stable on a level and firm ground.
It is important to ensure that there is enough freedom of
movement and sufficient lighting to work.
7.1 Assembly
The sandblasting cabinet is already pre-assembled.
The filter still has to be screwed on and the sandblasting
gun has to be connected:
Step 1: Open the lid of the cabin and the enclosed fil-
ter at the exhaust opening at the top rightin the
cab (Fig. 5). (If not mounted yet)

Step 2: Attach the four rubber buffers to the underside
of the cabin legs.
Step 3: Check all bolts and nuts for tightness and
tighten if necessary.

Step 4: Secure the blasting line to the funnel with a
hose clamp and connect the compressed air
line to the housing. Guide the blasting line up
through the rack and connect both lines to the
sand blasting gun.
Step 5: The Pedal aconnect to the housing of the SSK
1.5. Make sure that the correct cables (Fig.7)
are connected to each other.

Step 6: Fill the blasting abrasive through the storage
grid into the funnel of the sandblasting
cabinet.
7.2 Electrical connection
Step 1: Check if the mains voltage corresponds to the
voltage indicated on the nameplate.
Step 2: Ensure a good grounding of the sand blasting
cabin.

Step 3: Connect the power cord to the mains.
7.3 Compressed air connection
To operate the sand blasting cabin you need a com-
pressor with at least 350 liters / min (SSK1) and 196 li-
ters / min (SSK1.5) Filling capacity and a container size
of at least 50 liters. The generated air must be cleaned,
free of condensate and oil-free.
Adjustable operating pressure SSK 1: 2,8 - 8,0 bar.
Adjustable operating pressureSSK 1.5: 5,5 - 7,9 bar.

Step 1: Connect the duckbill duct to the compressed
air port on the outside of the cab on the right
side.
Step 2: Extraction with 2m3 / min. Connect the suction
power to the suction connection.
7.4 Air regulation SSK 1.5
The working pressure at the SSK 1.5 can be adjusted to
the side of the SSK with the aid of the regulator (Fig.11).
To adjust the working pressure, pull out the regulator
and turn to the right to pressurize and to the left to
release pressure. Press the control back after setting
the pressure.

DANGER!
Danger to life by electric current!
There is an immediate danger of electrocution on
contact with live components.
- Work on the electrical system only by electricians.
ATTENTION!
The sand blasting cabin must have a good ground-
ing to avoid static electricity and sparking.
ATTENTION!
Moisture in the compressed air impairs the flow of
abrasive and can cause clogging and clogging of
valves and line.
NOTE!
If the pressure drops by several bar, the air supply is
insufficient or blocked.

Commissioning
8 Commissioning
Step 1: Select a suitable blasting medium and fill in the
sandblasting booth until max. half funnel
height.
Step 2: The workpiece must be free of oil, grease and
moisture. If necessary, clean the workpiece
before placing it in the blast cabinet.
Step 3: Set the desired working pressure at the com-
pressed air supply (compressor). Make sure
that the maximum pressure is not exceeded!
Adjust according to the sensitivity of the mate-
rial set lower working pressure.
Step 4: Connect the sandblast cabin to the com-
pressed air source.
Step 5: Place the workpiece to be machined in the
sandblast booth and switch on the lighting of
the sandblast cabin.
Step 6: Use the integrated protective gloves to hold
the sand blasting gun and the workpiece and
start sandblasting. Hold the sand blasting gun
at an angle of 45 ° to 60 ° to the workpiece,
with the blasting medium being blown away
from the workpiece against the back wall of
the sandblasting cabin. Use the lever to dose
the blasting agent addition
Step 7: After finishing work, disconnect the tool from
the compressed air source and remove the
workpiece.
WARNING!
Danger of life!
There is danger to your life if you do not follow these
rules.
- Never work on the blast cabinet if you are under the
influence of alcohol, drugs or medicines and / or
you are overtired or suffer from concentration-
impairing illnesses..
- The sandblasting cabin may only be operated by
one person. Other persons must keep away from
the work area during operation.
ATTENTION! HEALTH HAZARD
Inhalation of abrasive material and abrasion can
cause lung damage from fumed silica! Possible for-
mation of a silicosis. Information on this

Particularly hazardous is the inhalation of
substances with particle sizes below 5 μm!
Never use abrasives with smaller particle sizes than
0,12 mm and make sure the cab is absolutely tight.
Wear respiratory protection.
Use ear protection!
During operation, a noise level of over 85 dB (A)
may occur. From 85 dB (A), ear protection must be
worn!
Use safety goggles!

NOTE!
Before using the sand blasting cabin for the first
time, carry out the following points.
- Check all screw connections on the installed
sandblast cabinets and tighten them if necessary.

Check the sand blasting cabin for leaks.
ATTENTION!
The sandblasting gun must always be directed away
from the operator. Never work with the sandblasting
cabin door open.
ATTENTION!
Never use sand as abrasive.
ATTENTION!
The workpiece must be clean and dry.
NOTE!
The distance of the blasting gun to the object plays an
essential role and should not exceed 20 cm.

9 Care, maintenance and repair
9.1 Care by cleaning
The sandblasting cabin should always be kept in a
clean condition.
All plastic parts and painted surfaces should be
cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and some neutral deter-
gent.
Keep the tool clean and dry.
9.2 Maintenance and repair
If the sandblasting cabin does not work properly,
contact a dealer or our customer service. The contact
details can be found in chapter 1.2 Customer Service.
All protection and safety equipment must be reinstalled
immediately after completion of repair and maintenance
work.
The air hoses should be checked at regular intervals for
damage and leaks. The damaged hoses must be re-
placed.
Hose material compressed air hose: PVC.
Burst pressure: 16,5 bar
Clean the tool regularly from dirt. Regular cleaning ma-
kes working with the pneumatic tool easier.
After 10 to 12 hours of operation, check the nozzle. In
case of uneven wear, the nozzle should be rotated by 1/
4 turn every 10 operating hours.
To ensure a good flow of blasting media, the com-
pressed air must be dry and free of oil. Regularly check
the quality of the compressed air, if necessary install a
drainage system upstream.
Check the quality of the abrasive regularly.If the particle
size is too small or if soiled, replace the abrasive.
Check and clean the filter regularly. Replace if
necessary. Filter material: nonwoven fabric

Check the fittings for a firm and tight fit and retighten if
necessary.
If the viewing window becomes cloudy, peel off the pro-
tective foil and stick on new protective foil.
ATTENTION!
Disconnect the tool from the compressed air supply
and the sandblasting booth from the mains before
carrying out any maintenance, servicing or cleaning
work. Maintenance and repair work may only be car-
ried out by qualified personnel.
Use safety gloves!
NOTE!
Never use harsh detergents for cleaning. This can
lead to damage or destruction of the sand blasting
cabin.
ATTENTION!
Maintenance and repair work may only be carried
out by qualified personnel.
NOTE!
The filter removes particles with grain sizes below 5
?m.
It is temperature stable up to 90 ° C.

In your own interests and in the interests of the en-
vironment, please ensure that all components of the
equipment are disposed of in the proper and authorized
way.
10.1 Decommission
Disused devices must be taken out of service immedia-
tely in order to avoid later misuse and endangering the
environment or people.
Step 1: Remove all environmentally hazardous fluids
from the sandblast cabin.
Step 2: If necessary, disassemble the sand blasting
cabin into manageable and usable as-
semblies and components.
Step 3: The product components and operating mate-
rials must be routed through the appropriate
disposal routes.
ATTENTION!
If any of the following errors occur, immediately stop
working with the sandblasting gun. It can cause
serious injury or damage to the tool. All repairs or
replacement work must only be carried out by qua-
lified and trained personnel. The tool must first be
disconnected from the compressed air source.

11 Spare parts
The spare parts can be obtained from the dealer or di-
rectly from the manufacturer. The contact details are in
chapter 1.2 Customer Service. Specify the following key
data when inquiring or ordering spare parts:
- device type
- item number
- Position number
- Construction year
- amount
- desired shipping method (post, freight, sea, air,
express)
- delivery address
Spare parts orders without details given above can not
be considered. If the shipping method is missing, ship-
ping will be at the discretion of the supplier.
Details of the device type, article number and year of
construction can be found on the type plate, which is
attached to the sand blasting cabin.
Example
The gloves for the Sandblasting cabin SSK 1 must be
ordered.
The gloves are in the spare parts drawing with Item
number 21 indicated.
- Type of device: Sandstrahlkabine SSK 1
- Item number: 620 4000
- Position number: 21
The order number is: 0-6204000-21
The order number consists of the article number, the
item number and one digit in front of the item number.
- Place the digit 0 in front of the item No.
- Also place the digit 0 in front of the position 1
through 9.
