Application
This kit is intended to be used when installing one of the
listed models into an existing solid-fuel burning fireplace
and the existing chimney is too small for installing side-
by-side 3” co-linear liners. The outer diameter of the
590FVK2 liner is approximately 5-3/8”.
A separate flue collar adapter is required for each listed
fireplace model to convert the collars to the 590FVK2’s
5” x 3” liner size. The 590FVK2 kit includes an adapter
with flashing for the top of the chimney that converts to
6-5/8” x 4” collars to accept standard listed Coaxial Vent
Temination Caps.
Use the included gear clamps and sheet metal screws to
secure the liners to the collars at the top and bottom of
liners. See following pages for more information.
DO NOT overstretch the flex—stretch it only to the
length required.
DO NOT squeeze, kink, tear or make flex liners oval.
DO NOT bend flex liners tighter than 5” radius.
DO NOT splice flex liners.
DO NOT use flex liners in combustible construction.

Kit Content Clean Fireplace and Chimney
Have the chimney swept and the fireplace cavity
including ash dumps and clean-outs cleaned before
installing the heater and vent liners. Any creosote or
soot residue remaining in the fireplace cavity chimney
or clean-out may cause odors or stains once the insert
is installed. Consult with chimney sweep for information
on how best to clean.

Installation
1. Remove 3” pipe from the 5” pipe to stretch them.
2. Carefully stretch each pipe separately to the required
length.
3. Re-insert 3” pipe into 5” pipe.
4. Trim the flashing to size if necessary. A drip edge can
be folded down.
5. Starting with 3-inch inner pipe, attach pipe assembly
to terminal adapter-flashing collars using gear
clamps and 2 sheet metal screws below clamp to
ensure pipes won’t slide off.
6. Insert pipes / adapter-flashing assembly into
chimney.
7. Secure terminal adapter-flashing to chimney.

8. Install terminal cap to adapter-flashing and secure
with sheet metal screws.
9. Insert fireplace with co-axial vent plate or adapter
into hearth. Connect pipes to vent plate and secure
with cable clamps.
10.Add 2 sheet metal screws through vent collars above
each gear clamp to ensure it does not slip off the
collar.
11.Continue installation following instructions provided
with appliance.

Application
Cette trousse est conçue pour être utilisée lorsque un
des foyers indiqués ci-dessus est installé dans un foyer
et cheminée à combustibles solides existants et que la
cheminée est trop étroite pour l’installation colinéaire de
deux conduits flex de 3 pouces côte-à-côte. Le diamètre
extérieur du conduit double de la trousse 590FVK2 est
approximativement de 5-3/8 pouces.
Un raccord à buse séparée est exigé pour chacun des
foyers indiqués afin de le convertir pour les conduits
flex de 3 et 5 pouces du 590FVK2. Un adaptateur de
sortie de cheminée incorporant un solin est fourni avec
le 590FVK2 convertissant la sortie à buses de 6-5/8 x
4 pouces pour accomoder les Capuchons certifiés de
sortie coaxiale standard.
Utilisez les colliers de serrage inclus et des vis à métaux
pour bien fixer les conduits aux buses du foyer et de la
sortie. Voir les pages suivantes pour plus de détail.
NE PAS étirer trop les conduits flex—étirez-les
seulement à la longueur exigée.
NE PAS écraser, plier, déchirer ou laisseer les conduits
prendre une forme ovale.
NE PAS plier les conduits flex dans un rayon plus grand
que 5 pouces.
NE PAS raccorder deux morceaux de conduits flex.
NE PAS utiliser de conduits flex dans une construction
combustible.

Nettoyez le foyer et la cheminée
Procédez au ramonage de la cheminée et au nettoyage
de l’âtre du foyer incluant le bac à cendres et la trappe
à ramoner avant d’installer le foyer et les conduits
flex. Les résidus de créosote et de suie dans l’âtre de
la cheminée ou dans la trappe à ramoner peuvent
causer des odeurs désagréables ou tacher les surfaces
environnantes une fois le foyer installé. Consultez un
ramoneur pour connaître le meilleur moyen d’effectuer
le nettoyage.
