When us ng the steam cleaner, bas c safety precaut ons should always be
observed, nclud ng the follow ng:
IMPORTANT: Please refer to t e up olstery/surface manufacturer’s
care recommendations before use and test t e steamer on a discrete
surface to begin wit .
WARNING: T e steam cleaner unit and accessories get very
ot during operation.
DANGER OF SCALDING: Avoid contact wit t e steam.
1. Do not leave the steam cleaner unattended when plugged n.
Unplug t from socket when not n use.
2. To prevent electr c shock do not use outdoors.
3. Not to be used as a toy. Close superv s on s necessary when
used near ch ldren or the nf rm.
4. Use only as descr bed n th s manual.
5. Do not use the steam cleaner f t has been dropped, damaged,
left outdoors or dropped nto water. Do not use the steam
cleaner w th a damaged cord or plug. If the supply cord s
damaged, call the Vax customer carel ne on 0844 412 8544
6. Do not pull or carry by the cord, use the cord as a handle, allow
the cord to come nto contact w th hot or sharp surfaces or
close a door on the cord.
7. Do not unplug by pull ng on the cord.
8. Do not handle the plug or steam cleaner w th wet hands.
9. Do not put any objects nto open ngs or operate w th
open ngs blocked.
10. Do not use w thout the tank cap n place.
11. Turn off all controls before unplugg ng.
12. Do not use an extens on cord.
13. Do not attempt to remove blockages w th sharp objects as they
may cause damage.
14. Store ndoors, put away after use to prevent tr pp ng acc dents.
15. Us ng mproper voltage may result n damage to the steam
cleanerand poss ble njury to the user. The correct voltage s
l sted on the rat ng label.
16. A hazard may occur f the steam cleaner runs over the power
supply cord.
17. The steam cleaner must be kept level dur ng operat on.
18. Never mmerse the steam cleaner n water or other l qu ds.
19. Keep the steam cleaner away from ra n and mo sture. The
steam cleaner s not su table for outdoor use.
20. Do not operate the steam cleaner w thout water n the tank.
Always top up w th water n good t me.
21. Empty the water tank when the steamer s not n use.
22. Never f ll the tank w th anyth ng other than water. Never put
add t ves (such as perfume, sta n remover or products
conta n ng alcohol) n the water as they may damage the steam
cleaner or make t dangerous to use.
23. Always remove the ma ns plug from the socket and allow th s
steam cleaner to cool down completely before topp ng up
w th water.
24. Do not overf ll the tank. Do not exceed the max mum prescr bed
f ll ng level. Please use the measur ng jug ncluded.
25. Ensure that the water tank cap has been screwed down fully
before use.
26. Only carry the steam cleaner by the carry handle.
27. Do not touch any hot areas on the steam cleaner. It s normal
for the steam cleaner to heat up dur ng operat on.
28. Do not use the steam cleaner to treat any tems of cloth ng that
are st ll be ng worn on the body.
29. The force and heat of the steam may have an adverse effect on
some mater als. Always check whether a surface s su table for
treatment w th the steam cleaner by carry ng out a test
beforehand on a concealed area.
31. Always nclude these operat ng nstruct ons f pass ng the steam
cleaner on to a th rd party.
32. Never a m the steam cleaner at people, an mals or plants (r sk
of scald ng)! Do not a m the steam cleaner at electr cal systems
or w res.
33. Please always sw tch the appl ance off and remove the ma ns
plug from the socket f leav ng the work area.

out as protect on aga nst overheat ng.

Getting Started
Operating your steam cleaner

Squeeze tabs on s de of detergent tank
to sl de tank out of steamer.
Remove cap from detergent tank and f ll w th
max mum 120ml of Vax detergent. Replace cap
f rmly and sl de solut on tank back nto steamer
NOTE: For best results, f ll w th 120ml of detergent.
Alternat vely d lute the m xture w th 50ml detergent
and 70ml water
NOTE: Wh lst n use do not recl ne un t more than 45 degrees.
Place steamer on a level surface and ensure
steamer s sw tched off and s cool. To remove
l d push down and tw st ant clockw se.
Ensure the l d s securely fastened by
turn ng n a clockw se d rect on.
Slowly pour water nto water tank.
Do not overf ll the water tank. Allow
space to be left at the top.

CAUTION: Do not use hot or bo l ng water to f ll water compartment. Do not open the water tank l d when us ng the steamer. Your steamer s
pressur sed, do not completely remove the l d when tank s hot. F ll tank only when cool. Do not overf ll the water or detergent tank
compartments.

IMPORTANT: After use, sw tch off the mach ne, compress the tr gger to release all rema n ng steam. Allow mach ne to cool for a
m n mum of 10 m nutes before ref ll ng or stor ng.

IMPORTANT: Taps should be turned off when steam ng around them. Do not steam clean ovens, oven surfaces or gr lls when hot. Allow to

Refilling and Storing
After allow ng steamer to cool for a m n mum of 10
m nutes, slowly start to unscrew the l d ant -clockw se
wh le gently push ng on the tr gger. DO NOT FULLY
UNSCREW THE WATER FILL SAFETY CAP. Allow
steam cleaner to cool an add t onal 5 m nutes. After you
have ensured the steam cleaner has cooled and pressure
has been released, the l d should turn freely for removal.
Unscrew the l d completely. Empty the res dual water n
the tank and allow to dry. Clean the ecternal surface w th
a dry cloth.
After us ng your steamer, press the Power
Button to turn power “OFF” and then unplug the
power cord from the ma ns. Release excess
pressure by depress ng the tr ger and releas ng
steam before open ng the water cap. Th s can be
ensured when the pressure nd cator s
completely depressed n the cap.
Cleaning clot s
IMPORTANT: Never use bleach or fabr c softener when wash ng the cloths.
Wash by hand or mach ne washable at ‘warm’ temperature. Always use a m ld detergent.
Allow cloths to completely dry before next use.

IMPORTANT: Always ensure before clean ng or ma nta n ng the steam cleaner that t s sw tched off, unplugged
from the ma ns and cooled down to room temperature. Only clean the steam cleaner by w p ng over the hous ng
w th a sl ghtly mo stened cloth. Do not use any clean ng agents, abras ves or alcohol s nce they may damage the
hous ng. Vax recommend that the tank be r nsed out after 5 f ll ng operat ons at the latest f water hardness s
above 1.8 mmol/l (10od/H). Informat on regard ng local water hardness may be obta ned from the water or ut l ty
company. Vax recommend f ll ng the water tank w th water and g v ng t a good shake to clean t. Th s w ll loosen
any l mescale that has been depos ted on the bottom of the steam cleaner. Pour out the water and allow the tank
to dry out completely before clos ng t. The water tank should be treated w th l mescale remover approx. every
6 months to prolong the steam cleaner’s l fe. Place one (or at most two) l mescale removal st cks n 0.3 l tre of
warm water (50oC) and f ll the water tank w th t. Allow the solut on to work for approx. 30 m nutes then pour away
the water w th the d ssolved sol ds. Repeat th s process f necessary then r nse out the tank w th water.

replaced by the manufacturer.
W y is t e steam cleaner not producing steam?
• Check the ma ns power s sw tched on.
• There may be no water n the tank; please refer to the
operat on sect on.
• Check that the safety latch has been unlocked on the
steam handle.
• Check that the un t has not been overf lled as there must
be space n the tank for the water to heat. If overf lled the
un t w ll del ver l ttle steam or water droplets.
• The water may not yet be at temperature; the green and
red steam ready nd cator l ght w ll both be llum nated
when the water s at temperature and s ready to use.
• If the un t s produc ng a very small amount of steam,
check the var able steam power d al and adjust to max.
