WARNING
The Demi baseboard covers will get extremely hot when used over electric baseboard heaters. They
will not diminish the heat and the external temperature of the cover may be greater than the original
electric heater cover. Do not touch the Demi cover while in use over electric baseboard heaters and
do not place objects, furniture, or anything ammable within 12 inches of the electric baseboard
cover. Electric baseboard heaters can and will injure, burn and be the cause of res. If in doubt, refer
to your electric baseboard heater’s safety and use instructions provided by the manufacturer.

Electric Baseboard Heaters
Note: The only covers we recommend for use on electric baseboard heaters are the Demi style.
Use the guide below to determine if the Demi baseboard covers will work for your particular
heater. Do not use the covers if they do not meet the conditions within this guide.

Check whether your heaters are controlled by a wall thermostat.
Demi baseboard covers work with electric baseboard heaters that have a wall thermostat. If
your electric baseboard heater has a thermostat (dial) on the front of the cover to turn it on/off
then it is not compatible with the Demi baseboard covers.
Measure the height from the oor.
Measure from oor to top of the existing cover. The height should be 7½″ or greater.
If your measured height is less than 7½″:
You will need to order mounting brackets. The mounting brackets will allow you to hang the
Demi panel at a minimum height of 7½″ to ensure there is a ¾″ gap between the panel and the
oor. This gap will provide airow and is essential to proper operation of the existing heater.

3Measure the depth of the
existing heater from the wall.
Be sure to select the deepest part of the
unit to measure. This could be the top,
middle or bottom of your current heater
depending on the brand. The depth of the
existing cover from the wall should be less
then 3¼″ at its deepest point.
This solution will not work if the
measured depth is greater then 3¼″.
4Measure the length from end to end.
If you have met the above conditions, then measure the length of your existing electric
baseboard cover.
Start on the left end and measure the entire length of the existing heater.
Using this dimension, order the
Demi cover to this length.
If your measurement is not a
whole foot dimension (ie: 3′, 4′, 5′,
etc.), utilize the “need a custom
cut length” box to order your
exact dimension.

5Ensure your end caps will sit ush against the wall.
Most electric baseboard heaters have wood baseboard trim tight to each end of the heater and
this will prevent the end caps from being installed properly. If this is the case in your home, the
Demi end caps will not sit ush against the wall and you will need to do one of the following
prior to installation:

You will need to select “closed” end caps for your order as they provide structural support to the Demi
panel.
If the height of your current electric baseboard heaters are less then 7½″, you will need to also add
mounting brackets to your order. You will nd them under “Shop” > “All Products & Accessories”.
Option 1: trim baseboard
Cut back the wood baseboard trim by ¼″ on
either side to allow the end caps to sit ush
with the wall.
Option 2: trim end cap
Use tin snips to notch the backs of the Demi
end caps to allow them to sit ush against the
wall around the baseboard trim.

Demi Installation Guide for Covering Electric Baseboard Heaters
Note: We only recommend Demi baseboard covers for use on electric baseboard heaters. Use
the guide below to determine if the Demi baseboard covers will work for your particular heater.
Do not use the covers if they do not meet the conditions within this guide.
WHEN USING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES, BASIC
PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED TO
REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE ELECTRIC SHOCK, AND
INJURY TO PERSONS, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:
1. Read all instructions before installing or using the
cover.
2. Sharp edges and corners may be present on the
baseboard cover panel. Any sharp edges will be
covered after installation using the proper end cap.
Please use caution during installation to avoid injury.
3. To avoid re do not block air intakes or exhaust
in any manner.
4. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any
ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause
and electric shock or re, or damage the heater.
5. This heater cover is hot when in use. To avoid
burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.
Keep combustible materials such as furniture,
pillows, bedding, papers, and curtains away
from heater.

Remove the front panel.
If possible. Using your hands only, gently unclip or remove the front panel. No tools should be
necessary to do this. If this is not possible, go directly to step 2.
Install the Demi panel over the heater.
You should be able to hang the Demi panel over the top of your existing heater, pressing the
top edge between the heater and the wall. If there is not enough space to rmly place the
cover, see Step 2a (Page 4) for instructions on how to install using mounting brackets.
Please make sure there is a clearance of at
least 3/4 of an inch between the heater cover
and the oor to ensure proper air ow.

3Install the end caps.
Ensure your end caps will sit flush against the wall. You will need to use the “closed” endcaps
as they provide structural support to the Demi panel.
Note: Most electric baseboard heaters have wood baseboard trim tight to each end of the
heater and this will prevent the end caps from being installed properly. If this is the case in your
home, the Demi end caps will not sit ush against the wall and you will need to do one of the
following prior to installation:

Fasten the mounting brackets to the wall.
Using a screwdriver, install the mounting brackets above
the baseboard heater at a height that allows for a ¾″ gap
between the oor and the bottom of the Demi panel.

of the mounting brackets, with the
edge sitting between the bracket
and the wall.
Install the Demi panel using mounting brackets.
