Introduction English
Your Verbatim External USB Hard Disk drive is a versatile external hard drive featuring
high-performance storage and a high-speed USB 2.0 interface. Once your drive is connected
properly to your computer, you will be able to use it as you would any hard drive for storing your
data and for performing data back-up functions.
About the Hard Disk
The Verbatim hard disk comes pre-formatted in FAT32 format. This format allows for operation
with either Windows or Mac OS.
Note: Capacity dependent on model. 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes/1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes/ 1 TB =
1,000,000,000,000 bytes. Some capacity used for pre-loaded software, formatting and other functions, and thus
is not available for data storage. As a result, and due to differing calculation methods, your operating systems
may report as fewer megabytes/gigabytes/terabytes.
Nero BackItUp 2 Essentials Software
Nero BackItUp 2 Essentials back up software is included on the hard drive. Double click the Nero
folder on the drive and then double click the setupx file to start installation. The Nero Installation
window will appear. Follow the set up wizard to install the software.

Connecting External USB Hard Disk
To connect to your computer follow the steps below:
Connect the included AC Adapter to the Hard Drive, and then to a plug socket using1.
the included power cord.
Connect the included USB cable from the USB port on the Hard drive to an available2.
USB port on your computer.
Press the ON/OFF button on the back of the Hard drive.3.
The Hard drive will mount automatically, and a new icon will appear in My Computer4.
(Windows) or a new icon will appear on the desktop (Mac).
Disconnecting External USB Hard Disk
Your Hard Drive is hot-swappable. It can be connected and disconnected without restarting
your computer. To disconnect your drive at any time, perform the following steps. You can also
disconnect your hard drive at any time while your computer is powered off.
For Windows Users:
If you have files located on your drive open in any applications, close them.1.
Click the Unplug or Eject Hardware button in the System Tray.2.

Select your drive from the menu that appears.3.
After a moment, Windows will display a message that your hardware can be safely4.
removed.
For Mac OS Users:
If you have files located on your drive open in any applications, close them.1.
Locate the icon for your drive on the desktop, and drag it to the trash.2.

Votre disque dur USB externe Verbatim est un disque dur externe polyvalent offrant un stockage
hautes performances et une interface USB 2.0 haute vitesse. Une fois votre disque connecté
correctement à l’ordinateur, vous pourrez l’utiliser comme tout autre disque dur pour stocker vos
données et effectuer des sauvegardes.
A propos du disque dur
Le disque dur Verbatim est préformaté au format FAT32. Ce format lui permet de fonctionner
avec Windows ou Mac OS.
Remarque : la capacité dépend du modèle. 1 Mo = 1 000 000 octets/1 Go = 1 000 000 000 octets/ 1 To =
1 000 000 000 000 octets. Une partie de la capacité est utilisée pour le logiciel pré-chargé, le formatage et
d’autres fonctions et n’est donc pas disponible pour le stockage de données. Par conséquent, et en raison de
méthodes de calcul différentes, il est possible que votre système d’exploitation indique moins de mégaoctets/
gigaoctets/téraoctets.
Logiciel Nero BACKITUP 2
Le logiciel Nero BACKITUP 2 est inclus sur le disque dur. Double-cliquez sur le dossier Nero
du disque, puis double-cliquez sur le fichier setupx pour démarrer l’installation. La fenêtre Nero
Installation (Installation de Nero) s’affiche. Suivez l’assistant de configuration pour installer le
logiciel.

Laufwerk ordnungsgemäß an Ihren Computer angeschlossen haben, können Sie es wie jedes
andere Festplattenlaufwerk zur Speicherung und Sicherung von Daten verwenden.
Über die Festplatte
Die Festplatte von Verbatim wird vorformatiert mit FAT32 geliefert. Dieses Format ermöglicht die
Verwendung unter Windows oder Mac OS.
Hinweis: Die Kapazität ist abhängig vom jeweiligen Modell. 1 MB = 1.000.000 Byte / 1 GB = 1.000.000.000 Byte /
1 TB = 1.000.000.000.000 Byte. Ein Teil der Speicherkapazität wird für vorinstallierte Software, die Formatierung
und andere Funktionen verwendet und steht daher nicht zur Speicherung von Daten zur Verfügung.

Nero BACKITUP 2 Software
Die Datensicherungssoftware Nero BACKITUP 2 ist im Lieferumfang des Festplattenlaufwerks
enthalten. Doppelklicken Sie unter dem Laufwerk auf den Ordner Nero und doppelklicken Sie
anschließend auf die Datei setupx, um die Installation zu starten. Das Fenster für die Installa-
tion von Nero wird angezeigt. Führen Sie die Schritte des Installationsassistenten aus, um die
Software zu installieren.

Anschließen der externen USB-Festplatte
Um die Festplatte an Ihren Computer anzuschließen, führen Sie folgende Schritte aus:
Schließen Sie den Wechselstromadapter an das Festplattenlaufwerk und das1.

Schließen Sie das im Lieferumfang enthaltene USB-Kabel an den USB-Port der2.
Festplatte und an einen freien USB-Port an Ihrem Computer an.
Drücken Sie auf der Rückseite des Festplattenlaufwerks die Taste ON/OFF.3.
Das Festplattenlaufwerk wird automatisch installiert und ein neues Symbol in Ar-4.
beitsplatz/Computer (Windows) bzw. auf dem Desktop (Mac) angezeigt.
Entfernen der externen USB-Festplatte
Das Festplattenlaufwerk ist hotswap-fähig. Es kann angeschlossen und entfernt werden, ohne dass ein
Neustart des Computers erforderlich ist. Um Ihr Laufwerk zu entfernen, führen Sie die folgenden Schritte
aus. Ist der Computer ausgeschaltet, können Sie die Festplatte jederzeit entfernen.
Für Windows-Benutzer:

ne, fare doppio clic sulla cartella Nero presente nell’unità, quindi fare doppio clic sul file setupx.
Viene visualizzata la finestra di installazione di Nero. Seguire la procedura guidata per installare
il software.

Connessione del disco rigido esterno USB
Per connettere il computer, procedere nel seguente modo:
