1PREFACE
1.1 Identification
◼The Victory MATV is a Gasoline powered Flail mower with adjustable side shift, suitable for
several types of ATV vehicles equipped with 2” car hook. No tractor with PTO is needed.
◼The mower is a robust, compact engine-driven Flail mower with replaceable flails and a hinged
rear gate. It provides professional grass cutting, heavy undergrowth, and tree prunings.
◼The cutting height is 1 to 4” (thickness up to 1½” in diameter).
◼Working width is 48-60”depending on the machine version.
1.2 CE Type Plate
The type plate shows the following data:
◼Name of the Manufacturer.
◼Address of the Manufacturer.
◼Machine Model and Type.
◼Manufacturing date.
◼Serial Number.
◼CE Mark.

2VICTORY TRACTOR IMPLEMENTS WARRANTY
Warranty
Victory Tractor Implements warrants to the original purchaser that this Victory product will be
free from defects in material and workmanship beginning on the date of purchase by the end-user
according to the following schedule when used as intended and under regular service and
conditions for personal use.
Overall Unit: Two years of Parts and Labor.
Flails, Belts: Considered wear items.
This Warranty is limited to the replacement of any defective part and the installation by VTI of any
such replacement part and does not cover common wear items. Victory reserves the right to
inspect any equipment or parts claimed to have been defective in material or workmanship.
This Warranty does not apply to any part or product that, in Victory’s judgment shall have been
misused or damaged by an accident or lack of regular maintenance or care or which has been
repaired or altered in a way that adversely affects its performance or reliability, or which has been
used for a purpose for which the product is not designed. Misuse also specifically includes failure
to properly maintain oil levels, grease points, and driveline shafts.
Claims under this Warranty should be made directly to Victory Tractor Implements, and all
warranty adjustments must be made through an authorized Victory dealer. Victory reserves the
right to make changes in materials or design of the product at any time without notice.
This Warranty shall not be interpreted to render Victory liable for damages of any kind, direct,
consequential, or contingent to property. Furthermore, Victory shall not be responsible for
damages resulting from any cause beyond its reasonable control. This Warranty does not extend to
loss of crops, any expense or loss for labor, supplies, rental machinery, or for any other reason.
No other warranty of any kind whatsoever, expressed, or implied, is made with respect to this
sale, and all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose that
exceed the obligations set forth in this written warranty are hereby disclaimed and excluded
from this sale.
This Warranty is not valid unless registered with Victory within 30 days from the date of purchase
by the end-user.

2.1 Warranty Provisions
Victory Tractor Implements guarantees the proper functioning of the provided equipment.
However, Victory is not responsible for unsafe situations, accidents, or damage, which are the
result of:
◼ignoring warnings and regulations as stated on the machine or in this Operator's manual;
◼the use of the device for other applications or under other circumstances than stated in this
documentation;
◼mutations to the machine; this also includes the application of different replacement parts as
specified;
◼insufficient or careless maintenance.
2.2 Liability
Victory Tractor Implements can't be held liable for consequential damage (business interruption,
product damage, etc.).

3INTRODUCTION
CONGRATULATIONS! You have purchased the Victory MATV gasoline-powered Flail mower with a
manually adjustable side shift drawbar and car hook. It is the strongest, safest, and most compact
in its category.
You can use the mower with a car, SUV, Pickup or Quad / ATV / UTV, or lawn tractor.
An emergency breakaway cut-off switch and an ATV mount throttle regulation control for easy
operation are part of the delivery.
The MATV flail mower is generally used with the wheels mounted to each side so that even
smaller ATVs can easily pull the 223k g / 263 kg flail mower safely through rough terrain.
It is the ideal machine for mowing fields of any kind or undergrowth, small bushes, and jobs in
rugged terrain.
For special applications like mowing near fences, walls, or buildings, you can mount wheels on
the rear of the mower using the supplied rear wheel mount bracket.
The heavy rear roller guarantees smooth performance even on rough grounds. Due to the large
and wide tires, you can also use the mower on a soft surface.

We have compiled this Operator’s manual to help you understand and appreciate your mower.
Taking some time to read this manual and understand the Safety, Operating, and Maintenance
instructions will give you better performance and extend the life of your equipment. You must
read this manual before assembling and operating the device.
This Operator’s manual belongs to the owner of the Victory MATV mower.

3.7 Intended Users
Intended users are well-trained, technically skilled operators.
3.8 Intended Use
The MATV mower is intended to use as a gasoline-powered flail mower, coupled with a vehicle
suitable for the purpose, usually an ATV.
3.9 Unintended Use
Unintentional use is any other use than described under 'Intended use.'

4SAFETY
WARNING!
•Read and understand all Safety measures and Warnings before carrying
out any operation or adjustments.
•Untrained persons who have not thoroughly read and understood this
manual might never approach the machine.
•Refer to all safety decals in this manual. Read all instructions noted on
them.
4.1 Introduction
The machine design is such that safe use and maintenance are possible. Anyone who works with it
must know the instructions and regulations stated in this manual.
The owner ensures that users know the instructions, operating regulations, and observations.
In this Operator's Manual, there is a distinction between:
◼Normal / Intended use (see operating instructions).
◼Other activities such as service and maintenance.
This distinction is because operators must meet other (safety) requirements than the technical
service staff.
◼The operator performs the daily cleaning and maintenance work described in the operating
instructions.
4.2 Generally Applicable Safety Rules
This list contains general safety measures which must be complied with for personal safety
reasons.
◼Make sure children and animals cannot come into the machine's vicinity.
◼Only persons who have read and understood the operating instructions might be in the
machine's vicinity.
◼Unauthorized persons may not perform acts if the machine is in use.
◼Never work alone; always ensure that at least one person is nearby.
◼Do not remove the brought warning stickers or markings.
◼Always clean the machine properly and keep the workplace free of dirt and obstacles.
◼Always ensure sufficient ambient lighting. Operate only in daylight.

4.3 Personal Protective Equipment
While handling, assembling and maintaining the Heavy-duty Flail mower, adhering to all
recommended safety instructions and ensuring that the correct Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE) is used.
Always wear:
◼Safety helmet; for head protection and prevention from falling objects.
◼Safety gloves; for hand protection and prevention of cuts from sharp edges.
◼Steel-tipped safety boots; for foot protection from falling objects.
◼Wrap-around safety glasses for eye protection and prevent damage caused by shooting
particles.
◼Safety vest for recognizable presence, visibility and safety.
◼Any other Personal Protection Equipment that might be required, specified, or dictated by the
working environment.
◼Your Company can prescribe additional (safety) instructions. This Manual does not describe
how to comply with this.
4.4 General Safety Rules for Machines
◼Incorrect practice or lack of care can cause burns, wounds, mutilation, suffocation, bodily
injuries, or death.
◼Ensure the work area around the equipment is smooth, clean and free from any obstacles.
Keep in mind that a dangerous situation can always arise.
◼Always wear safety glasses and protective shoes when carrying out the operation.
◼Long hair is not allowed. Never wear loose or torn clothing. Permanently remove jewelry.
◼When lifting heavy parts, use a hoist or ask for help, to prevent personal injury.
◼Ensure that all hoisting equipment such as lifting straps, hooks, or ropes are in a good state of
repair and that they can safely bear the equipment’s weight.
◼Never bypass door interlocks or safety sensors and switches.
◼Leaking chemicals, oil, gasoline, or water on electrical equipment can result in severe damage
or fire.
◼Watch for hot parts on switched-off components and hot liquids in lines, pipes, and
compartments to prevent burns.
◼Never open any vent or drain valve or remove any plugs while the system is under pressure.
◼Ensure that oil pumps are isolated from the system and relieve the pressure before
disassembling a pump, removing plugs, or disconnecting piping.
◼Always use tools that are in a good state of repair. Ensure you know how to use the tools
before doing any work.
◼ONLY use replacement parts from the same brand as the relevant part.

◼Always use replacement fittings having the same part number (or equivalent). Do not use
fitting of inferior quality.
◼Do not make any repairs if you are tired or consume alcohol or drugs, affecting your ability to
work perfectly.
◼PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT: The handling and cleaning of spent oil or chemicals may be
subject to national or local laws and regulations. Use authorized waste processing services,
including Municipal facilities and garages, which provide official facilities for collecting oil and
chemicals.
◼Contact the provincial or Municipal authorities or the Environmental Protection Service for
guidelines about handling correctly and cleaning up spent oil and chemicals if in doubt.
◼Parts that rotate can cause cuts, mutilations or strangulation.
◼Always switch OFF the engine before performing service and maintenance.
◼Do not allow water or any other fluid to contact electrical components.
◼Start the engine only after closing all machine protection guards and covers.
◼Never use a high-pressure water beam for cleaning the gasoline engine, electrical components,
battery casing, and bearing blocs.
◼Do not aim a high-pressure water beam directly at wiring, breathers, or sealings of drive
components.
◼Always protect venting spots from the inlet of large amounts of water.
4.5 Additional Safety Rules for Flail mowers
◼The operator should be familiar with all functions of the device.
◼Mow with the implement from the ATV driver’s seat only.
◼Persons under 18 should NEVER operate or be near the mower during operation.
◼Do not operate the MATV Flail mower while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, as severe
injury or death could result.
◼Bystanders must keep a safe distance from an operating Flail mower (5 m.)
◼Ensure all guards and shields are secured before operating the equipment.
◼Do not operate the device for any purpose other than what it is meant for. (See warranty for
details.)
◼Never open safety guards when the machine is working.
◼Never bypass safety sensors or switches.
◼Immediately push the emergency stop and switch off the engine if system parts emit smoke,
unusual odor, or unusual sounds. Otherwise, fire may start.
◼Never leave the MATV flail mower unattended while it is running.
◼Dismounting from a moving vehicle could cause severe injury or death.
◼When mowing, watch for wires, trees, etc.
◼Make sure all persons are clear of the working area.
◼Turning the ATV too tight can result in injury or equipment damage.
◼Inspect the flail mower regularly; check all fasteners and securing parts.
◼Operating the mower in temperatures below freezing is NOT recommended. Hardened steel
(used on flails) can become brittle in temperatures below freezing and may result in breakage.

4.6 More Safety Tips for Safe Operation
◼Always switch off the mower engine before attempting any alterations, repairs, or (height)
adjustments.
◼Keep hands, feet, clothing, and other extremities away from engine-driven parts. Wear snug-
fitting clothing to avoid entanglement with moving parts.
◼Do not wear long hair and/or loose clothing when working around the Flail mower. Personal
injury can occur.
◼Never exceed the limits of the machinery.
4.7 Rules For Safe Transport
If you move the mower from one site to another, it is advisable to raise the deck to the highest
position. The engine must be stopped and the blades at a standstill before adjusting to the transport
position.
◼Remove any crop debris from the deck before leaving the field.
◼Never move from one site to another with the engine running
WARNING!
•Comply with State and local laws governing highway safety and
movement of farm machinery on public roads.
•Driving on public roads, slow-moving tractors, self-propelled
equipment, and towed implements can create a hazard. They are
challenging to see, especially at night.
•Please note the MATV Flail mower is not road legal. You are not allowed
to use it on public roadways.
•Use flashing warning lights if you cross public roads.
◼The maximum transport speed for any Victory implement is twenty mph on paved surfaces and
ten mph maximum on an unpaved surface. Do not exceed. Never travel at a rate that does not
allow adequate control of steering and stopping.
◼Rough terrain requires a slower speed. Traveling excessively on uneven terrain that causes
violent shaking or bouncing will damage the attachment point on the mower and/or the
vehicle. This type of damage is not covered under warranty.
◼Use the following maximum speed - for paved surfaces only:
-20 mph when weight is less than or equal to the vehicle's weight.
-10 mph when weight is more than the weight of the vehicle.
◼The use of flashing amber lights is acceptable in most localities. However, some localities
prohibit their use. Local laws should be checked for all lighting and marking requirements.
◼Never exceed 20 m.p.h. (32 km/h). Reduce speed on rough surfaces.
◼Plan your route to avoid public roads.
◼Always install transport locks, pins, or brackets before transporting.
◼Do not drink and drive.

◼Be a safe and courteous driver. Always yield to oncoming traffic in all situations, including
narrow bridges, intersections, etc. Watch for traffic when operating near or crossing roadways.
◼Turn curves or go up or down hills at a low speed and gradual steering angle. Always check the
vehicle’s User manual for proper use on slopes.
◼Use extreme care and maintain minimum ground when operating near ditches or fences. Be
careful when turning sharp corners. Never allow riders on the mower.
4.7.1 Keep Riders Off Machinery
◼Riders obstruct the operator’s view; they could be struck by foreign objects or thrown from the
machine.
◼Never allow children to operate the equipment.
4.7.2 Practice Safe Maintenance
◼Always work in a clean and dry environment.
◼Park the mower, put the ATV in parking mode, turn off the engines and remove the ATV
ignition key before performing maintenance.
4.7.3 Prepare For Emergencies
◼Be prepared if a fire starts.
◼Keep a first aid kit and fire extinguisher handy.
◼Ensure you have telephone numbers for the doctor, ambulance, hospital, and fire department.
4.8 Driveline Safety
Agriculture and forestry are very hazardous occupations. Today’s farmer spends long hours close
to increasingly complex and powerful machinery.
Everyone from the component supplier and the company that manufacturers and assembles the
machinery to the dealers and ultimately the actual user must keep safety in mind to avoid
accidents. The list below relates to the driveline of agricultural implements, general safety
literature, and the standards published by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers.
Hazard Reduction
The second step in specifying a safe driveline application is eliminating as many hazards as
possible.
◼On a driveline with torque limiting or overrunning devices, specify that this device is positioned
at the end of the driveline near the implement.
◼To implement connections that require bolts or set screws, select and/or supply hardware that
minimizes protrusions. You can find Information concerning these parameters in all driveline
manufacturer’s catalogs.
◼For the ATV hook connection, also use a safety chain or cable.
Some common areas of interference are:
◼Drawbar linkage.
◼Several height adjustments.

Warnings and Instructions

◼Check that proper danger labels are supplied with the driveline concerning these parameters
may be found in all driveline manufacturer’s catalogs.
◼The operator's manual provides instructions for proper driveline operation, maintenance, and
repair.
◼Advise the user of locations of genuine original equipment spare parts.

Other standards may apply to particular types of farm machinery. All manufacturers strive to
produce a safe product.
Like most other components, drivelines must be appropriately used, including shields and

4.9 Not Allowed Use
◼Using the MATV for activities other than mower activities is not allowed.
◼It is not allowed to modify the equipment in any way.

4.10 Safety Decals and Markings on the MATV
Your Heavy-duty Flail mower comes equipped with all safety decals. The decals are designed to
help you safely operate your implement. Read and follow their directions.
◼Keep all safety decals clean and legible.
◼Replace all damaged or missing decals or labels. To order new ones, call Victory Implements.
◼Some new equipment installed during repair requires safety labels to be affixed to the replaced
component as specified. When ordering new components, ensure the correct safety labels are
included in the request.
