Working on the system
■Isolate the system from the power sup-
ply (e.g. at a separate MCB/fuse or a
mains isolator) and check that it is no
longer 'live'.
Note
In addition to the control circuit there
may be several power circuits.
Danger
Contact with live components can

even after the power supply has
been switched off.
Prior to removing covers from the
appliances, wait at least 4 minutes
until the voltage has completely
dropped out.

Intended use
The appliance is only intended to be installed and
operated in ventilation systems that comply with
EN 1946-6, with due attention paid to the associated
installation, service and operating instructions. It is
only designed for the controlled mechanical ventilation
of living spaces.
Intended use presupposes that a fixed installation in
conjunction with permissible, system-specific compo-
nents has been carried out.
Commercial or industrial usage for a purpose other
than mechanical ventilation of living spaces shall be
deemed inappropriate.
Any usage beyond this must be approved by the man-
ufacturer for the individual case.

Incorrect usage or operation of the appliance (e.g. the
appliance being opened by the system user) is prohibi-
ted and results in an exclusion of liability. Incorrect
usage also occurs if the components in the ventilation
system are modified from their intended function.
Note
The appliance is intended exclusively for domestic
use, i.e. even users who have not had any instruction
are able to operate the appliance safely.
Product information
Central mechanical ventilation units from Viessmann
can be fully operated and the control parameters set
with the ventilation programming unit, type LB1.
Changed parameters are transferred to the ventilation
controller integrated in the ventilation unit.
Commissioning (e.g. function check) and diagnosis
(e.g. function diagram, calling up messages) can also
be undertaken at the ventilation programming unit.

Note

Electrical connections

Damaged cable insulation can cause injury and
damage to the appliance.
Route cables so that they cannot touch very hot,
vibrating or sharp-edged components.
Note
■Strip as little of the insulation as possible, directly
before the terminals, and bundle close to the corre-
sponding terminals.
■If 2 components are connected to the same terminal,
press both cores together in a single wire ferrule.

Danger
Contact with live components can lead to seri-
ous injury from electric current. Some compo-
nents on PCBs remain live even after the power
supply has been switched off.
■When working on appliances, isolate the sys-
tem from the power supply, e.g. at a separate
MCB/fuse or a mains isolator. Check that it is
no longer live. Safeguard against unauthorised
reconnection.
■Prior to working on the appliance, wait at least
4 min until the voltage on the charged capaci-
tors has completely dropped out.
Check the firm seating of electrical plug-in connectors
and cable entries.
Commissioning
1. Insert the power supply plug of the ventilation unit
into a standard socket.
2. Use / to select the language.
3. Confirm with OK.
The display shows parameter "Enable Vitovent
7D00": See page 21.
4. Confirm with OK.
Use / to select the connected ventilation unit.
"2": Vitovent 200-C
"3": Vitovent 300-C or Vitovent 300-W
5. Confirm with OK.
6. Set the "Time" and "Date".
7. Confirm with OK.
The operating condition of the ventilation unit is
transmitted. A progress bar appears on the display.
This process may take several minutes.
Note
If the progress bar continues to run, check the fol-
lowing:
■Connecting cable to ventilation unit: See page 10
and 12.
■Selection of the connected ventilation unit ("Ena-
ble Vitovent 7D00"): Press and simultane-
ously for approx. 4 s.
■DIP switch Vitovent 200-C: See page 10.
8. The standard menu is displayed.
Setting air flow rates
Adjust the air flow rates at the ventilation programming
unit in line with engineering parameters and demand.
For this, note the following:
■Set the design air flow rate from the engineering
parameters for ventilation level 3 (nominal ventila-
tion): See chapter "Setting ventilation levels for
Vitovent 200-C" and "Setting ventilation levels for
Vitovent 300-C/300-W".
■Set air flow rates for ventilation levels 1 to 4 in
ascending order, i.e. lower for ventilation level 1 than
for ventilation level 2, etc.
Note
If non-incremental settings are chosen for the air flow
rates, settings may be corrected automatically at the
end of the complete setting process.
■Recommendation: Set the air flow rates so that suc-
cessive ventilation levels are at least 10 m3/h apart.
Notes
■The actual air flow rates that the mechanical ventila-
tion system can achieve are dependent on the pres-
sure drop resulting from the ductwork and the resist-
ance of the filters (filter class).
■In some ventilation units, the speed of both fans is
automatically adapted to maintain the selected air
flow rate irrespective of the level of filter contamina-
tion.
■In order to balance out pressure differentials
between the supply air and extract air side, the air
flow rate can be adjusted for one side relative to the
other: See page 16.

Setting the air flow rates for Vitovent 200-C
1. Service menu:
Press OK + å simultaneously and hold for
approx. 4 s.
2. "Parameter level 1"
3. Set the air flow rates using the following parame-
ters:
■"7D0A Flow rate, reduced ventilation"
■"7D0B Flow rate, nominal ventilation"
■"7D0C Flow rate, intensive ventilation"
Note
For Vitovent 200-C, the air flow rate for "Back-
ground vent." is set at the factory to 50 m3/h and
cannot be adjusted.
Setting the air flow rates for Vitovent 300-C/300-W
1. Service menu:
Press OK + å simultaneously and hold for
approx. 4 s.
2. "Parameter level 1"
3. Set the air flow rates using the following parame-
ters:
■"C109 Background ventilation"
■"C10A Reduced ventilation"

Balancing the supply air/extract air flow rates
Note
Balancing is only required if the total of the actual air
flow rates of all supply air apertures deviates by more
than 10 % from that of all extract air apertures.
Vitovent 200-C
To balance out the air flow rate differentials, the control
voltages of the supply and/or exhaust air fan can be
permanently increased or reduced.
1. Service menu:
Press OK + å simultaneously and hold for
approx. 4 s.

4. An increase or decrease in the supply air flow rate
in comparison to the extract air flow rate can be set
with "Specified imbalance C1A3".

Danger
If "Imbalance permitted C1A2" is set to "1",
only the supply air flow rate can be reduced to
enable frost protection for the heat exchanger,
e.g. if the output of the preheating coil is insuffi-
cient. This may create negative pressure in the
rooms. When operating open flue combustion
equipment, dangerous flue gases could then
flow back into the room.
When operating open flue combustion equip-
ment without on-site safety equipment, do not
set "Imbalance permitted C1A2" to "1".
Vitovent 300-W
With the Vitovent 300-W, the supply air and extract air
flow rates are automatically balanced by the ventilation
unit. Manual balancing is not required.
Shutting down the ventilation unit
Danger
Contact with live components can lead to seri-
ous injury from electric current.
Isolate the power supply prior to starting work on
the appliance.

type LB1 must be adjusted to match the ventilation
system equipment.

for the ventilation unit in question. Failure to do
so will void your warranty rights.
Activating the service menu (set parameters marked !)
All the available parameters are explained below. To
set the parameters marked !, the service menu must
first be activated. Unmarked parameters can also be
set in the extended menu.
Setting parameters in the extended menu

All parameters are displayed as plain text. A parameter
code is also assigned to each parameter.
1. Service menu:
Press OK + å simultaneously and hold for
approx. 4 s.

Note
■The limits of setting range D, F and delivered con-
dition E in Fig. 8 often depend on the type of venti-
lation unit. The values are displayed for almost all
parameters in the ventilation programming unit, type
LB1. Consequently, values D, E and F are not lis-
ted in the following parameter descriptions.

Bit field
Bit fields are used to specify the combination of sev-
eral functions or system components with 1 parame-
ter. For any combination, precisely 1 setting results.
The setting of the parameter can be determined in
accordance with the following table:

Setting assistant
With the setting assistant, Bit 0 to Bit N can be selec-
ted from a list (multiple selections are possible). The
setting of a parameter results automatically from the
selected combination.

See the description of the relevant parameter.
1. Service menu and "Parameter level 1" are ena-
bled:
Select parameter with bit field: E.g. "Preheating
coil C101".

4. Select the required bits with OK.
