Fitting the vacuum tubes
for Vitosol 300-TM, type SP3C

Installation, commissioning, inspection,
maintenance and repairs must only be
carried out by a competent person
(heating engineer/installation contrac-
tor).
Before working on the equipment/heat-
ing system, isolate the power supply
(e.g. by removing a separate mains
fuse or by means of a main isolator)
and safeguard against unauthorised
reconnection.
Repairing components that fulfil a
safety function can compromise the
safe operation of your heating system.
For replacements, use only original
spare parts supplied or approved by
Viessmann.
Fitting the vacuum tubes
Danger
Handle the vacuum tubes care-
fully. Broken vacuum tubes can
cause cuts.
Wear gloves and safety gog-
gles.
Danger
The vacuum tube condenser
becomes very hot under insola-
tion.
Wear safety gloves.

Installation information
■ Align the coated side of the absorber
with the sun.
■ Ensure that no part of the thermal
insulation becomes trapped.
■ The surface of the condenser must
be clean.
■ Position the condenser centrally in
the condenser holder inside the heat
exchanger.
For roofs deviating from due south,
adjust the angle of inclination of the
absorber (see scale in illustration on
page 3).

!Please note
Never install or align (rotate) the
vacuum tubes whilst they are
locked into position.
This will cause damage to the
vacuum tubes.

Note on step 4:
Ensure that tube holder brackets A do
not become damaged.
Note on step 5:
If the vacuum tubes do not slide easily
through the rubber seal, moisten the
rubber seal with water.

!Please note
The collectors may be damaged
if the solar thermal system is not
filled with heat transfer medium
immediately after installation.
Protect the collectors from inso-
lation by covering them up.
