Installation instructions
The variable area flow meters and control valves may only be installed
and commissioned by qualified personnel.
The pipeline must be free of particles and moisture before installation
of the unit. Please flush it before mounting the instrument in the pipe.
The variable area flow meter must be installed vertically (direction of
flow is from bottom to top).
The unit must be mounted free of tension. Please use the provided
mounting holes.
The process connections must not be sealed with sealing tape or liquid
sealant.
Before commissioning, the connections of the unit must be checked for
leaks.
Maintenance
When used correctly, variable area flow meters Q-Flow and control
valves M-Flow from Vögtlin do not require any maintenance..
Warning Notice
Q-Flow Variable Area Flowmeters
This measuring device consists, inter alia, of a measuring tube made
of borosilicate glass. If handled improperly, it is possible to destroy the
measuring glass, which can result in leakage and can thus endanger
persons and environment and can result in damages to surrounding
components / apparatuses.
It is imperative to include these facts in the risk assessment of the
operator!
It is essential to avoid:
- bounce shocks / pressure blows caused by rapid depressurizing
(e.g. by means of electromagnetic valves installed directly upstream
of the flow meter)
- by corrosion damage, which is caused by aggressive agents
(inside or outside the device)
- improper assembly
- use outside of the operating parameters
- mechanical damage of any kind

Hinweise zur Montage
Die Schwebekörper-Durchflussmesser und Regelventile dürfen nur
durch qualifiziertes Personal installiert und in Betrieb genommen werden.
Die Rohrleitung muss vor dem Einbau der Geräte frei von Partikeln sein.
Bitte spülen Sie diese, bevor das Gerät in die Leitung montiert wird.
Der Schwebekörper-Durchflussmesser muss senkrecht eingebaut
werden (die Durchflussrichtung ist von unten nach oben).
Das Gerät ist spannungsfrei zu montieren. Bitte verwenden Sie die
dafür vorgesehenen Montagebohrungen.
Die Prozessanschlüsse dürfen nicht mit Abdichtband oder Flüssig-
Dichtmittel abgedichtet werden.
Vor der Inbetriebnahme sind die Anschlüsse auf Dichtheit zu prüfen.
Wartung
Bei sachgemässem Betrieb müssen die Schwebekörper-
Durchflussmesser Q-Flow und Regelventile M-Flow von Vögtlin nicht
gewartet werden.
Warnhinweis
Q-Flow Schwebekörper Durchflussmesser
Dieses Messgerät besteht u.a. aus einem Messrohr aus Borosilikat-
Glas. Das Messglas kann bei unsachgemässer Handhabung zerstört
werden, was in der Folge zu Leckage und damit zu Gefährdung von
Personen und Umwelt sowie zu Schäden an umliegenden Bauteilen/
Apparaten führen kann.
Dieser Sachverhalt muss zwingend in die Risikoanalyse des Betreibers
einbezogen werden!
Bitte vermeiden Sie unbedingt:
- durch schnelle Druckentlastungen verursachte Prell- / Druckschläge
(z.B. durch unmittelbar vor dem Durchflussmesser eingebaute
Magnetventile)
- durch aggressive Medien verursachte Korrosionsschäden
(innen oder aussen am Gerät)
- Unsachgemässe Montage
- Einsatz ausserhalb der Betriebsgrenzen
- Mechanische Beschädigungen aller Art
