5 Application
The suction unit SG-10 is versatile in use, e.g. at ental technician workplaces, with
blasting units (e.g. Cemat NT, Puna) or with a polishing splash guar .
Maximum air extraction at low air spee is guarantee . Only respirable suspen e soli s
are extracte .
The benefits this provi es are practically silent operation of the fan motor an quiet
running ue to the low flow spee of the extracte air. The slow air flow means that even
uring work over longer perio s, the han s o not chill.
The SG-10 has an rotary potentiometer for fan control an a pilot lamp to in icate filter
saturation on the housing.
A itionally, the unit's mo ular structure permits operation with activate carbon an /or a
pre-filter setting, e.g. for larger quantities of plaster. Furthermore, a specially evelope
suction hoo is available for the ental technician workplace, hence optimising the suction
performance.
Only use the evice for this type of application.
6 Before Starting
6.1 Transport
Before transporting the unit, ensure that it has been unplugge from the power socket.
Make sure that it is packe correctly in or er to avoi acci ental amage.
Be sure to check for any transport amage when unpacking the goo s. Note own
any amage if foun .
6

6.2 Installation
Open the box, remove the packing materials, an carefully lift out the evice an
accessories. Check the inclu e accessories.
The evice has to stan horizontally on a stea y an even surface.
Install the evice in a place where it will not block the working area an the
functionality (take the imensions into account). Make sure that there are about
10 cm of free space on rear si e to guarantee air circulation (heat issipation).
Do not install the unit out oors or in places without proper ventilation.
Before start-up, be sure the evice reaches room temperature.
6.3 Storage
The unit location is very important when it comes to workplace safety, even if it is only to
be set up there for a short perio . The room shoul be ry, well ventilate an vibration-
free. An even temperature an woo en supports also help. The unit shoul not be store
or set up out oors. If the unit is to be store for an exten e perio , protect it from
moisture an ust.
7 Installation/ Start-up
1. Remove the supply line from the filter below the li .
2. Make an electric connection.
3. Insert the power plug into the socket, making sure that the mains an the unit
operate on the same voltage.
7

8 Operation
8.1 General Operating Instructions
All instructions for using the unit, whether in verbal or written form, are base on our own
experience an experimentation an can only be regar e as gui elines.
1. The unit can be switche on an off by pressing the rocker switch on the supply
line.
2. A rotary potentiometer for fan control is locate on the left si e of the housing. Start
the fan an set the esire level by turning the control element. It can also be use
to briefly stop the fan.
3. Use the rocker switch to eactivate the SG-10 uring longer interruptions in work.
You have to press the rocker switch on the supply line in or er to eactivate the
unit!
The control element can be use to stop the fan, but the unit itself is not switche
off!
elayed fan start-up is a feature of this series an permits maintenance-free
operation an a longer service life.

10 Care and Maintenance
10.1 Cleaning
Disconnect the power plug before starting any maintenance work.
The i entification plate has always to be kept in easily legible con ition an has
not to be remove .
Remove external irt from time to time with some form of col cleaner.
Use only col cleaners to avoi amaging the paintwork or removing the lettering.
The equipment shoul be cleane at regular intervals to ensure trouble-free
operation.
It requires only normal cleaning (sponge, amp cloth, mil etergent) an no further
chemical a itives.
10.2 Maintenance
The unit oes not require any servicing. Just make sure that the evice is kept clean.
10.2.1 Replacing the filter
Replacing the filter is part of the maintenance work.
Please replace the filter in the event that the suction performance falls noticeably, an
certainly when the pilot lamp lights up.
Regular filter replacement is necessary to ensure maximum ust extraction. The red
pilot lamp for filter saturation was set to maximum suction performance. It simply
indicates that the filter should be replaced; it oes not eactivate the fan.
10

A isposable micro fine ust filterbag is fitte ; it must be replace when ust saturation
(red pilot lamp) is reache .
To o this, open the fasteners on the right an the left, remove the li , take out the
filterbag an wrap in the a hesive foil enclose with the spare filter. Insert the new filter,
close the li .
Depen ing on their use, activate carbon filters shoul be replace when
necessary, but after no later than 4 to 6 months. The filter cassette ust class M
(secon ary filter) shoul be replace epen ing on its use (recommen ation: use
for no more than 12 months).
10.3 Repairs
Servicing or repairs to the unit has only to be carrie out by qualifie technicians.
Only original spare parts are to be use . Responsibility for the pro uct is voi e
if unauthorise persons alter it or if inappropriate components are installe .
