Taking a Temperature Measurement
Note: The ambient temperature for use must be between 5-32°C. This product is a
maximum thermometer, i.e. the displayed temperature can increase slightly if measurement
continues after the beep. Holding the product too long may cause a higher ambient
temperature reading of the probe. This could make the body temperature measurement
lower than usual.
Before using, please disinfect the thermometric tip (refer to Cleaning section).
1. To turn on, press the button
next to the screen; a short
beep will sound, indicating that
the product is operational.
2. At the same time the product runs a
self-check test, during which all the digital
segments appear on the screen.
3. The memory will show the last reading
on the screen for 2 seconds.
4. A default value of 37.0°C or 98.6°F will display
for 2 seconds (WDT101/WDT202 only).
5. When the letters Lo or L and a “ashing” °Cor
°Fdisplay, the product is now ready for use.
6. Refer to Methods of measuring temperature section for placement instructions.
7. Keep the user still during the measurement.
8. During the measurement, the °Cor °F symbol “ashes” and a temperature will be
displayed that will continue to change until a constant temperature is reached.
9. The temperature value is considered constant when the temperature rises less than
0.1°C within 16 seconds (WDT101) / 8 seconds (WDT202) / 4 seconds (WDT303).
10. As soon as the constant temperature value is reached, a beep will sound multiple
times [10 times (WDT101 and WDT202) / 12 times (WDT303)] and the °Cor °Fsymbol
will stop ashing.
11. Once the beeping has stopped the measurement is completed. Remove the product
from the measurement site.
12. The highest temperature measured appears on the screen.
13. Turn the product off by pressing the button.
14. Although the product will turn off automatically, to conserve battery it is recommended
to turn the product off manually after each reading.
15. The reading will automatically be stored in the memory.
Note: If choosing to take a second measurement, wait 60 seconds for the product to reset
before restarting the product.
Memory Function
• The last measured temperature will display on the screen for approximately 2 seconds
after the self-check when the product is turned on.
• WDT101/WDT202 models: The reading will be over-written after the screen displays the
default value of 37.0°C.
• WDT303 model: The reading will only be over-written when a new temperature value
is recorded.
Methods of Measuring Temperature
Note: Measurement accuracy cannot be assured when the method used to measure the
temperature is incorrect. If multiple measurements are taken over a period of time, it is
important to use the same method of measurement each time so the results are comparable,
i.e. do not interchange between oral, rectal or underarm measurements. If taking multiple
measurements within a short period of time, allow the thermometer to return to room
temperature prior to taking each measurement.

Rectal
Note: This is the most accurate method from a medical point of view, because it comes
closest to the core body temperature. It is commonly used for young children when it is
difcult to take an oral or underarm temperature. DO NOT attempt rectal measurements
on persons with rectal disorders.
• Lubricate with a water-soluble gel. DO NOT use petroleum jelly.
• Gently insert the thermometric sensor no more than 2cm into the rectum.
DO NOT force the product into the rectum. Stop insertion and abort the measurement
when pain is present.
Note: The rectal method is the most accurate method for identifying the basal
temperature and it is advised to extend the measuring time by 3 minutes after the
beep (WDT101/WDT202) or 1 minute after the beep (WDT303).
Underarm (axillary)
Note: Wipe off any underarm perspiration and deodorant prior to taking a reading under
the arm.
• Place the thermometric sensor in the centre of the armpit. It must be touching the skin,
remove clothing if necessary.
• Turn the screen so that it faces inwards.
• Hold the product in place by slightly applying pressure inwards towards the body.
• The product should be placed at an angle of 35-45 degrees in relation to the arm.
• When using with infants or young children, it is advised to gently hold their arm in place
while taking the measurement.
Placing the product in the armpit provides a measurement of surface temperature that can
uctuate by around 0.5°C to 1.5°C from rectal temperature readings in adults.
Note: An exact reading cannot be obtained if, the armpits have been allowed to cool. If this
is the case, we recommend extending the measuring time by around 5 minutes in order to
obtain the most precise possible reading that corresponds as closely as possible to the core
body temperature.
Maintenance
Cleaning
• Always clean/disinfect the product before and after use to avoid cross contamination.
• Only clean with disinfectant (70% medical alcohol) using a damp cloth.
• Rinse only the thermometric tip under slow running cold water and then dry with a clean
soft cloth.

• Rinse only the thermometric tip under slow running cold water and then dry with a clean
soft cloth.
• DO NOT use harsh chemical cleaning agents.
• DO NOT immerse the product under water; rinse with hot water over 50°C; soak in
alcohol for a long period of time; or use ultrasonic washing to clean the product as this
can damage the electronics.
Storage
• Wipe away any dirt and dust from the product.
• Store the product in it’s protective cover while not in use.
• DO NOT store the product in the protective cover when it is damp. Wipe it off with a clean
dry soft cloth rst.
• Store in a safe cool dry place, away from children as per Safety Warnings.
• DO NOT place any heavy objects on the product.
Battery Replacement
Note: When removing the battery compartment cover, be aware that they rubber seal may
fall off. This can be easily placed back on. DO NOT lose the rubber seal or screw as this will
affect the water resistance and safety of the product. The screw is a self-tapping screw
(1.4x2mm). Please contact us for a replacement if you lose the seal or screw.
• When the low battery symbol is shown
or on the bottom right of the
screen, please replace the battery.
• Using a small Phillips head screwdriver
size #00 or #000 to remove the safety
screw from the back of the battery
compartment cover.
• Remove the battery compartment cover
and battery carefully.
Note: WDT101/WDT202 models: Gently pull out the inner frame no more than 15mm, just
enough to expose the battery to avoid damaging the internal components.
The battery may require a thin pointy object such as a paperclip to help remove it.
• Dispose of the old battery according to current local regulations.
• Only use batteries specied for the product.
Model WDT101 WDT202 WDT303
Battery Type LR41 (1.5V) LR41 (1.5V) CR1632 (3V)
• Install the battery carefully with the polarity in the correct position with the positive(+)
polarity facing towards the screen as shown.
