Xblue Networks X16 User manual

The X16 system can be placed on a table or mounted on a wall. It should be
located close to where the telephone lines come into the building and plugged into
a 110 electrical power outlet. Only the X16 system will need to be plugged in, all of
the X16 telephones are powered by the X16 system.
The X16 system comes equipped with four Telephone Company Lines, which are
labeled Central Office Ports and are labeled as 1/2, 2, 3/4 and 4. The system can
be expanded with two additional, for a total of six telephone company lines, by
adding the XB1630-00 — 2 Port Expansion Module.

Telephone lines are usually found on the center
pair (Red/Green) of the telephone jack (RJ11).
Sometimes a second line will be connected to the
outer pair (Black/Yellow). The system is design to
accommodate both types of installations. When
using only the center pair, connect 1 telephone
line to each of the 4 ports in the system. When
using both the center and outer pairs, use only
ports labeled 1/2 and 3/4 to connect all 4 lines.

System Components
Loop Cable
Plug the system in to power it up. Once powered up, the LED will blink rapidly,
4 impulses per-second (IPS), after 5 seconds, it will begin blinking at the normal
operational rate of 1 IPS. To ensure that the X16 system is initialized properly,
switch the “INIT” switch back and forth three times within three seconds. When
the LED returns to 1 IPS, the system will be fully operational.
Initialization
Loop wiring, which is similar to the wiring found in most homes should
be sufficient to run this system. However older homes may need to update
their wiring. The supplied Loop Cable can be used to connect 4 different
loops of wire, each with 4 telephones.

Connector
If needed, use the supplied Telephone Line Splice Connectors,
to connect the supplied “Loop Cable” from one run of four X16
telephones to a port in the telephone system. Insert the
wires, one from each end, into the connector and secure the
wires by compressing the center of the connector using
standard pliers. Loop Cable
Your existing cabling will determine how the telephone lines will be connected to the
system. The supplied “Loop Cable” may be helpful when installing the telephone lines.
Note: The port labeled “Line 1” gives you access to the telephone company line plugged
into the Central Office Port labeled 1/2. This is useful during a Power Failure or anytime
you want to access line 1 from a cordless telephone.

Home Run wiring, also known as star topology can be found in office
buildings and newer homes. In this wiring scheme each of the four X16
telephones are plugged into the supplied “4 Telephone Connector”, which
is then connected into one of the ports on the X16 system.
The X16 system has four extension ports and each functions similar to a
four port splitter. Each X16 telephone is programmed with a unique
extension number starting with 301. This allows each user to call or
intercom each other. Although each extension port supports four X16
telephones, it is possible to plug one X16 telephone directly into one
extension port in the X16.

The “4 Telephone Connector” connects one
extension port in the X16 system and supports
up to four X16 telephones.
Use the “4 Telephone Connector” to plug four
X16 telephones into one extension port in the X16
system.
Single or Multiline cordless or corded telephones can be connected “in
front” of the X16 system by splitting the telephone line, one side going to
the telephone and the other going to the X16 system. Using special “Line
in Use” circuitry the X16 system actually shows when one of these
telephones is off hook. Each Telephone Line can have its own cordless or
corded telephone.

Additional “4 Telephone Connectors” (XB1698-XB) may be purchased to
connect additional X16 telephones to your X16 system. A maximum of
four, “4 telephone Connectors” can be used on an X16 system.

programming steps:
1. Press the program button

3. Press the center navigation button
4. Press the down arrow key twice (Extension No.)
5. Press the center navigation button
6. Enter the desired extension number between 302 ~ 399

show “In use”. Please enter a different extension number.
