YAESU FT-8800 PROGRAMING
Push the lower right kno to turn the radio on or off.
Make sure “MAIN” is on the desired side of the display. To change sides,
momentarily push the top right or top left dial ON THE SIDE YOU WANT
TO BE “MAIN”.
Momentarily push the V/M utton so no memory channel num er appears in
the display, to the left and a ove the displayed frequency.
Use the microphone to key in the desired frequency.
If you are setting up for a repeater, the correct offset is pro a ly displayed.
If you need to correct the offset, momentarily push the “SET” utton. The
“SET” utton is the unla eled utton in the center of all the la eled uttons.
After momentarily pushing the “SET” utton, a menu item is displayed. Go
to menu item # 33, RPT-MOD.
Push the main dial (in this case the upper left dial, if you are working with
the frequency on the left side). Rotate the main dial to the desired setting, +,
-, OFF (simplex). Push the main dial to return to the menu screen.
If a tone is required, rotate the main dial to # 41, TONE M. Push the main
dial and rotate to the type of tone desired, usually ENC. Push the main dial
once to get ack to the menu.
Rotate the dial to # 40, TONE F. Push the main dial and rotate until the
proper frequency is displayed. Push the main dial to get to the menu again.
Push and hold the SET utton.
You will hear 2 eeps and the memory channel num ers flash. Rotate the
main dial until the channel num er appears where you want the information
stored. Push the SET utton and a long eep is heard and the display will
show MEM-IN momentarily.
The memory is stored.
Pushing the V/M utton will then show the information for the selected
channel. Rotating the dial at this point the radio will go through the channels
you have in memory.

To SCAN the channels in memory, push the SCAN utton on the side you
wish to scan. You may also push and hold the UP - DOWN uttons on the
icrophone to start scanning.
If you wish to skip over a memory channel while scanning, you must have
the channel displayed. Push the "SET" utton to access the menu. Rotate
the dial to item #37. "SKPMSM". Push the main dial on the side of the
radio you are working with, and rotate to "SKIP". Push the "SET" utton
twice to get ack to the memory channels. Note that it says SKIP to the
right of the memory num er. Repeat the process to remove SKIP, except
choose "OFF" instead of SKIP.
MEMORY BANKS
The FT 8800 has 10 memory banks for wach side of the radio. To
enter a memory channel into a bank, you must first be you must first
be able to look at all the memory channels available. This is called
"ALL E ".
Push and HOLD the V/ button on the side of the radio where
" AIN" is displayed. "ALL E " should appear. Push the SET
button. Rotate the main dial until the memory channel you wish to
put into a particular bank appears. Again, push and HOLD the V/
button ALL E appears. Roate the main dial to the selected bank.
omentarily push the SET button, and that channel is now in the
desired desired bank.
Remember you may place a memory channel in as many banks as
you wish. When you select a bank, and then use the scan function,
only the memory channels in that bank will be scanned, provided you
do not have the set up to SKIP.
