CLM920_AC5 Mini PCIE module adopts single power supply mode, the module provides 5
power supply pins and 14 ground pins. In order to ensure the normal operation of the module,
all power and ground pins must be connected and used. The power supply range of the
module is 3.3-4.2V, it is recommended to use 3.7V / 2A power supply. The module will
generate a current of more than 2A peak at the moment of data transmission or conversation,
resulting in a relatively large ripple on the power supply. Therefore, when the customer
designs the circuit, the power supply trace should be kept as short and wide as possible. It is
recommended to reserve a 220uF capacitor near the power input. It is recommended that
customers can use DCDC or LDO to provide sufficient current. Then control the VBAT power
supply through the MOS tube, so that the module can be completely powered off. The actual
use can refer to the following circuit design:

Figure 3-3 LDO power reference circuit
Figure 3-4 DCDC power reference circuit
Figure 3-5 MOS tube control power switch reference circuit
1. In order to prevent damage to the module caused by surge and overvoltage, it is
recommended to connect a 5.1V / 500mW Zener diode in parallel to the VBAT pin of the
module.

Shanghai Yuge Information Technology co., LTD
- 19 -
2. It is recommended to add a filter capacitor (10pF, 33pF, 100nF, 10uF, 220uF, etc.) at the
VBAT pin to reduce voltage drop and reduce power supply ripple and place it close to the
VBAT pin.
3. The minimum working voltage of the module is 3.3V. Due to the transmission of data or
GSM calls, a current of more than 2A will be generated, resulting in a ripple voltage drop on
the power supply voltage, so the power supply voltage must not be lower than 3.3V.
Figure 3-6 GSM TDMA burst current supply voltage drop
3.4 Power on / off reset mode
The CLM920_AC5 Mini PCIE module only supports one power-on boot method. Users can
determine whether the module is powered on by querying the high and low levels of the
VDD_EXT pin.

3.4.2 Power off
If you want to shut down the CLM920_AC5 Mini PCIE module, you can cut off the VBAT
power supply. At this time, the module does not perform the normal shutdown process. Only
when the module works abnormally and cannot be restarted, it is recommended to restart the
module after power off.It is recommended that the interval between two restarts be greater
than 30s.
3.4.3 Reset control
The CLM920_AC5 Mini PCIE module PIN22 signal is the RESET reset pin. When the
application needs to reset the module, it can be reset by pulling this pin low for 150-450ms.
The RESET pin is sensitive to interference, keep away from radio frequency interference
signals when routing.
