The wheel hairs are manufa tured to the highest quality standards & are CE marked as Medi al Devi es.
2. Indications For Use
This wheel hair is intended for the temporary transportation of a single o upant who has a walking disability.
The wheel hair is intended to be propelled only by an attendant who is suitably able to ontrol and manoeuvre the
wheel hair and who has gained familiarity with the proper operation of the wheel hair, its brakes, motion and
handling.

The wheel hair is not for use by o upants weighing more than 116 Kg (18 stone 2 lbs).

The attendant who is to operate the wheel hair should familiarise themselves with the operation of the wheel hair
and its running and parking brakes both before and after an o upant is seated and the wheel hair is used. Note
that the parking brakes are operated by hand. See se tion on brakes in this manual. The attendant should onsider
their own wellbeing before operating the wheel hair; they should understand their limitations and strength and not
attempt anything that is beyond their apability so as to ensure the wheel hair o upant’s and their own safety.
The attendant should ensure that the handles of the wheel hair are firmly held to ontrol the wheel hair while it is
in motion and while the parking brakes are not applied. Attendants should take parti ular are if gloves are worn
as these may restri t their grip on the handles of the wheel hair.
Avoid the o upant hanging their entre of gravity by leaning or rea hing to one side or the other from the
wheel hair as this upper body movement of the o upant may ause the wheel hair to tip over. When as ending
slopes with the wheel hair ensure that the o upant’s body is leant slightly forward. Do not arry extra weight
su h as bags, pets or third parties on the wheel hair as this will add ex ess weight and ause instability to the
wheel hair.
Whenever the wheel hair is brought to rest, this should be on level ground and both parking brakes should always
be firmly engaged. Transfers of the o upant to and from the wheel hair should always take pla e on level ground
in a safe environment. Pay parti ular attention when using the wheel hair in a publi traffi area and never leave
the o upant in the wheel hair unsupervised.
It is advisable to plan your wheel hair route beforehand and take parti ular are in wet or i y weather or if trav-
ersing soft ground. Look out for kerbs and uneven surfa es. Obsta les should be avoided as hitting them may dis-
pla e the o upant as well as ause damage to the wheel hair.
