
5. Personal Safety
•
The wheelchair is esigne for a single occupant of up to 150kg / 24stone.
•
Firstly ensure the wheelchair is always fully open before use & all wheels are stable an are on
the groun .
•
Ensure that the parking brakes work an are in the park position before sitting in the chair.
•
Do not stand on or put pressure on footrests when entering or exiting the wheelchair.
•
Ensure that the latest health & safety practice is use for carrying & lifting items.
•
IMPORTANT: Under no circumstances should this wheelchair be used as a seat in
a motor vehicle.
4. Brake Operation & Brake Maintenance
The brakes are preset, an a justment shoul only be necessary if the brakes no longer function cor-
rectly.
To apply the parking brakes, push the brake han le towar s the front of the wheelchair. Push the
han le back to release the brakes. SEE PHOTO’S 6 AND 7
A justment is ma e to the brake by loosening the Allen key bolt hea s an then sli ing the brake
unit own along the frame. Retighten the bolt hea s.
To operate the atten ant brakes squeeze the brake lever (A ) an to lock into place push the spring
loa e button ( B ) in, an then release. To totally release the brake, squeeze the lever an the spring
loa e button will pop out, the wheelchair is now free to push. SEE PHOTO 8

4. To install footrests place left/right footrest over left/right SEE PHOTO 4 pegs at a 90

to the frame , turn forwar 90

to lock footrests into place. SEE PHOTO 5
5. Legrest a justment—for optimum comfort it is important to attain the correct leg position.
The footrests have been esigne so that they can be exten e into a number of fixe
positions by releasing the bolt at the base of the legrest. This lengthens the legrest into
various positions. Once the correct length has been set tighten up the bolt.
6. Kerb lifters– use the kerb lifters to raise the front castors e.g. when mounting a kerb.
Do not raise the front castors by pushing down on the push handles as this could result
in damage to the wheelchair. Or choose optional Anti-tips - these stop the wheelchair
tipping backwar s when in use.
7. Lap Belt– to be use to restrain the wheelchair occupant uring normal aily use, a just lap
belt to fit occupant.
