Introduction
These wheelchairs have been designed for persons with limited or no personal mobility for
transport only.
This user’s manual is compiled from the latest specifications and product information avail-
able at the time of publication. We reserve the right to make changes as they become neces-
sary. Any changes to our products may cause slight variations between the illustrations and
explanations in this manual and the product you have purchased.
The engineering and construction of this wheelchair have been designed to provide maxi-
mum safety.
Safety Tips
Before using the wheelchair please read the safety information below:
Get to know your wheelchair.
Be careful during your first ride in this wheelchair.
o not exceed the maximum gradient of 10º (18%).
Use slow speeds on gradients.
o not reverse down a gradient.
O NOT operate on an incline if covered in ice or a film of water or oil.
O NOT operate on roads or highways.
Practice using on level ground as well as going up and down hill.
Only one person to occupy the wheelchair.
o not stand on the footplates.
O NOT stand on the frame of the wheelchair.
Keep both feet on the footplates when moving.
o not use escalators, use a suitable lift.
Users should not sit in the wheelchair whilst riding in any means of transport.
Remain seated at all times when moving.
o not reach for items further than your arm will extend while seated.
Maintain correct balance while seated in the wheelchair.
When moving be aware of potential hazards, such as steps, doorways, appliances, children's
toys, cables, etc..
Always apply the parking brakes when transferring.
The wheelchair brakes are not suitable for slowing the wheelchair down..
In the event of damage or repair, please consult your service agent / dealer.
Unprofessional or incorrect adaptation or adjustment work could increase the risk of acci-
dents.
International safety standards currently in force have either been fulfilled or exceeded. Nev-
ertheless users may put themselves at risk by improperly using their wheelchairs.

Please check the following before each use:
The wheelchair should be stored in a clean and dry place away from direct sunlight and in
the folded position.
The wheelchair should be kept clean and dust free by using a duster or damp cloth regularly.
The wheelchair comes with a small toolkit to undertake simple maintenance tasks and
adjustments.
It is recommended that a Z-Tec dealer services the wheelchair annually where items listed
below should be repaired, replaced, adjusted and/or lubricated as required.

1. Rest both hands on each of the seat upholstery support rails and press down
until the seat and back upholsteries become tight. See photo 2
2. Make sure that the seat support rails are safely located in the support cups.
Warning!
Do not p ace your fingers between the seat
upho stery and the seat tubes when opening or fo ding the frame.

1. Lift up the footplates
2. Grasp the centre of the seat upholstery from the back and front and lift the seat
upwards. This will cause the chair to fold up by its own weight. See photo 1

1. Press the release lever on each
side of the wheelchair back.
2. When released fold down for
easier storage,

Footrest Adjustment
Leg rest Adjustment:
For optimum comfort it is important to
attain the correct leg position. The foot-
rests have been designed so that they can
be extended by releasing the fixing on the
side of the footrest hanger. This lengthens
the leg rests and once a comfortable posi-
tion is found the fixing should be secured
tightly before use.

Push the release button inward and lift the arm-
rest up.

To Fasten
Release the button when the desired adjustment
of the armrest is made to secure into position.
Warning!
Lock armrests by securing release button mechanism before using the wheelchair. Never lift
the wheelchair by the armrests or footrests as these parts are detachable and it may cause
damage to the wheelchair and/or injury to the user.
Footp ate Adjustment:
The footplate has been designed to allow
for the user to be angled correctly in or-
der to provide suitable comfort. To adjust
slacken the adjustment mechanism, tilt to
desired angle and secure tightly before
use.
A too kit is provided with your wheelchair to assist
with appropriate adjustments.

Parking Brake
The brakes are preset and adjustment should only be necessary if the brakes become loose or
no longer function correctly.
To apply the parking brake push the brake lever towards the front of the wheelchair. Push
the lever back to release the brakes. See photos below. These levers are to be used by hand
only.

To remove the rear wheels depress
the quick release button and pull
the wheel away from the frame of
the wheelchair. The Quick Release
axle will also be removed at the
same time. For safety reasons this
should only be carried out when the
wheelchair is unoccupied and the
wheelchair can be supported.

Footrest
To remove the footrest, first lift up the footplate then pull up the release knob (photo a).
Swing away the footrest to the side of the wheelchair (photo b). Carefully grip the footrest
assembly and lift straight up (photo c). Be very careful not to angle the footrest assembly as
it may catch the wheelchair frame and could damage the paintwork. You now can remove
the footrest assembly away from the wheelchair (photo d). To re-fit, follow the instructions
above in reverse order.

Warnings
o not stand or put pressure on the footrests when entering or exiting the wheelchair.
Should any defects become apparent on your wheelchair or if the brakes do not respond as
well as expected cease using the wheelchair immediately and return it to your Z-Tec mobil-
ity dealer for inspection.
Check the tightness of the screw and bolt connections monthly.
If any connections become loose stop using the wheelchair and consult your Z-Tec mobility
dealer for assistance.
Check the moving parts (e.g. wheels and leg rests) before every use.
Check that the front castors swivel freely. Withdraw from use if they do not work..
Care should be taken when assembling or dismantling the wheelchair. This wheelchair
weighs 14.9kgs and care should be taken when lifting or moving it.
The wheelchair should be cleaned when necessary with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
It is recommended that you have your wheelchair serviced every 12 months, or more fre-
quently if it is in regular use.
If the upholstery becomes worn or damaged replace it immediately.
o not carry out unauthorised modifications to the wheelchair. Always consult your author-
ised dealer. Only use approved accessories as specified by Z-Tec Mobility.
Users should not sit in the wheelchair whilst travelling in any means of
transport.
Warranty
Z-Tec wheelchairs are guaranteed for 12 months from the date of purchase, this warranty is
not transferable. Should any part of the wheelchair require repair or full replacement as a
result of a manufacturing or material defect within the warranty period, parts will be sup-
plied free of charge. The guarantee excludes tyres and all items that have been subjected to
undue wear and misuse. Under normal circumstances no responsibility will be accepted
where the wheelchair has not been maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s recom-
mendations. This does not affect your statutory rights.
