cabinets).Metalobjects,walls,andfloorswillinterferewithyourwirelesssignals.Thecloseryouraccess
pointistotheseobstructions,themoreseveretheinterference,andtheweakeryourconnectionwillbe.
3.Reducewirelessinterference.
Themostcommonwirelesstechnology,802.11g(wireless‐G),operatesatafrequencyof2.4gigahertz(GHz).
Manycordlessphones,microwaveovens,hospitalequipments,refrigerator,LED,andotherwireless
electronicsalsousethisfrequency.Ifyouusethesewirelessdevicesinyouroffice,yourdevicemightnotbe
ableto"hear"thesignalsoverthenoisecomingfromthem.
Ifyournetworkuseswireless‐G,youcanquietthenoisebyavoidingwirelesselectronicsthatusethe2.4
GHzfrequency.Instead,lookforcordlessphonesandotherdevicesthatusethe5.8GHzor900megahertz
(MHz)frequencies.Because802.11n(wireless‐N)operatesatboth2.4GHzandthelessfrequentlyused5.0
GHzfrequency,youmayexperiencelessinterferenceonyournetworkifyouusethistechnology.
4.Updatethefirmwareordriverofyourwirelessdongle.
Ifyouareusingawirelessdongleorothersimilardevicestomaketheconnection,gettingthelatest
firmwareordriverupdatesmayimprovetheperformance.Visityourmanufacturer’swebsiteforthe
updates.

Usinganyothertypeofbatteryandchargingequipmentmaydamagethe

equipmenttopreventlossofcapacity,rustingofmetallicpartsand

Thecradlehostfeatureswirelesstechnologyandisdesignedtosupportradio
communicationtothescanner.Itcanbeusedforbothbatterychargingandradio
communication.
1. TakethedesirableinterfacecableandinserttheRJ‐45connectoronthe
bottomofthecradle.Youwillhearaclearandshort“click”sound;then
connecttheotherendtothehost.
2. ConnecttheincludedUSBcabletominiUSBportatthebottomofthecradle
andconnectotherendtoUSBpoweradaptor.
3. ConnecttheUSBpoweradaptorintoACoutlet.TheLEDindicatoronthe
cradleshouldflashblueuntilitmadeconnectionwiththescanner.
WhenusingKeyboardwedgeandUSBinterfaceforcradle
communication,itisnotnecessarytohaveanexternalpoweradapterif
hosthassufficientpower.Buttheseinterfacesneedexternalpower
adapterwhenchargingbatteries.
TheminiUSBportonthebottomofthecradleshouldonlybeconnected
