solution.Itonlyweights15gramsandsizedassmallasamatchbox.Thereare3LED
indicatorsontopallowingimmediatescanningresponseandatestbuttonfor
performancetest.Therearemountingholesonthebackofthecasereservedforquick
andeasyinstallation.
ThemodulehasanewlydesignedCCDscanenginewithlightbeambrightandclearas
laserbeamthatgivesuserbestvisualindicationanditspowerfulhighresolutionCCD
actsinoutstandingperformance.

Precautions
Toensurethescannerreachesitsbestperformance,thefollowingpointsneedtobe
noticedwhenmountingthescanner:
a. Donotplacethescannerunderdirectsunlightoranyotherbrightlightsource
illuminating.
b. Whenplacingthebarcodelabel,onemustbecarefulnottoovertilt,skewand/or
pitchthebarcode(Refertofigure2)
c. Donotplacethedeviceatspeculareflectionposition.TheLEDlightofthescanner
reflectsdirectlybackonthescannerifitisplacedatspeculareflectionposition.
AstothenatureofCCDsensor,itwillnotbeabletoreadanybarcodes.
d. Thebarcodelabelmustbeplacedwithintheeffectivedepthoffield(D.O.F.)since
itistheeffectivereadingdistanceforthebarcodefromthescanner.Forthebest
placingposition,pleaserefertotheDecodeDepthofFielddrawing.(Figure3)
MaintainingtheScanner
Thescannerisdesignedforlong‐termtrouble‐freeoperationandrarelyrequiresany
maintenance.Onlyanoccasionalcleaningofthescannerwindowisnecessaryinorder
toremovedirtandfingerprints.
Wipethescanwindowwithasoftlint‐freeclothandanon‐abrasivecleanertoavoid
scratchinganddamagingthescanwindow.Thescanwindowmaybecleanedwhile
thescannerisrunning.

offield.Usuallywhenabarcodehaspoorprintingqualityorhigh
density,thedepthoffieldwouldbeshorter.Itishighlysuggestednot
placethebarcodelabelattheextremesofdepthoffieldasitisoften
easytomoveoutfromthereadingrange.
BlinkMode
Afterthescannerhasbeeninactiveforaperiodoftime,thelightbeamwould
automaticallystartblinking.Tostopthescannerfromblinking,simplypresentan
objectclosetothescannerwindoworpressthetestbutton.TheBlinkModefeature
isincludedtoreducepowerconsumptionandtoextendscannerlife.Usethe
barcodesinpage27tochangetheblinkmodesettings

Ontopofthescanmodule,thereisa“Test”button,anditcontrolstwofunction
modes:

Whenthemoduleisintriggermode,thereadinglightbeamremainsoffandscanning
isonlymadewhenthe“Test”buttonisdepressed.
Intriggermode,simplyaimthescanmoduleatthebarcodeandpressthe“Test”
buttontotriggerscanlightbeamanddecode.
PerformanceTestMode
Toenterintoscanperformancetestmode,pressthe“Test”buttontwicequickly.The
LEDindicatorswillbeturnedoffandyouwillhearthreeshortbeepsounds.This
indicatesthatthemodulehassuccessfullyenteredthetestmode.Placethebarcode
labelwithinitsscanrangetogetthebestscanperformanceresult.

Scanningaseriesofprogrammingbarcodelabelscanconfigurethescanner.This
allowsdecodingoptionsandinterfaceprotocolstobetailoredtoaspecificapplication.
Theconfigurationisstoredinnon‐volatilememoryandwillnotbelostbyremoving
powerfromthescanner.
Thescannermustbeproperlypoweredbeforeprogramming.ForRS‐232Ctype
scanners,anexternalpoweradaptermightbenecessarytosupplyDCpowertothe
scanner.
Duringtheprogrammingmode,thescannerwillacknowledgeagoodandvalid
readingwithashortbeep.Itwillgivelongbeepsforeitheraninvalidorbadreading.
SeetheDefaultParametersectionforalltheprogrammableparameters.Thedefault
settingswillberestoredwheneverthe“Reset”programminglabelisscanned.
