Safety Instructions
This product has been engineered and manufactured with the highest priority
on safety. However, improper use can result in electric shock or fire. In
order to prevent potential danger or damage, please adhere to the following
instructions when installing, operating and cleaning the product.
Power Warning
A marking label attached on the rear side of the adapter (supplied)
indicated the correct power requirement. Operate this product only
from an electrical outlet with the voltage and frequency indicated on the
product’s label. If power source falls outside the system’s compatible
range, it may result in electric shock. If you are uncertain of the type of
power supplied to your home, consult your local power company or
appliance dealer.
Only use the power cord and adapter provided by the manufacturer.
Internal component may be damaged if you use a different adapter to
power this product. To avoid electric shock and fire hazard, match the
plug and outlet connections carefully, then fully insert. If the plug fails to
fit the outlet, please contact an electrician to update your power outlets.
Do not overload electrical outlets, extension cords, or integral
convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of f ire or electric shock.
And to prevent power cord damage, arrange all power cords so that
people cannot walk on the cords. Do not place objects on the cords.
Place this product in a location that is close enough to an electrical outlet
and where the power cord is easily accessible to be disconnected from
the wall outlet.

Usage Warning
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not remove the cover or attempt
to disassemble this product. There are no user-serviceable parts inside,
please refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Protect this product from foreign objects. Never shove anything into this
product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or
shot-out part that could result in a fire or electric shock.
Do not expose this product to liquids, rain or moisture.
This product has openings for ventilation that protect it from overheating.
Never block or cover these openings. And do not place this product near
heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other products
producing heat.
Before cleaning or wiping this product, check your power cord is already
unplugged from the electrical outlet. Only use damp cloth to clean this
product, and never use a liquid cleaner or an aerosol cleaner.
During a thunderstorm, or when this product is unused for long periods of
time, unplug power cord from the wall outlet. This will prevent damage
to the product due to lightning and power-line surges.
Service Warning
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. For damage that
requires service, please unplug your power cord from the AC outlet firstly,
and contact your dealer or servicing personnel to obtain service for the
following conditions.
-If there is damage to the adapter, power cord or plug.
-If liquid enters this product.
-If you drop this product, a heavy object falls on this product, or
damage occurs to the cover of this product.
-If you expose this product to rain or water.
-If this product does not operate normally by following the operating
instructions.
-If this product exhibits a distinct change in performance.

Introduction
Peer 2 Player ZIN-5003 is the perfect media entertainment center for living
room, linking your PC, external USB hard disc, MP3 player and much more.
With peer-to peer protocol, it can connect all seeds through LAN or USB
devices and allows you to download media files over the internet. You can
play stored favorite media files without running your personal computer. It
supports most video/audio/image formats to save your trouble to convert
downloaded media format. You can also access the shared folders of nearby
PCs thru the intranet (local area network) and play the digital media files from
your desktop/ laptop to your TV. Besides connecting your PC with the
network, you can simply plug in your USB devices to access and play the
media files via user-friendly On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
The content of package
Please make sure the following items are included within your new Peer 2
Player package. If any items missed or damaged, please call your dealer.
The peer 2 player might not be compatible with all optional accessories. We
highly recommend you use the specific accessories we suggest.

Interface Information
Front panel
XPower button and Power LED
Press to turn the peer 2 player on and LED indicator next to the
lights up in blue. Or LED indicator lights on with red color represent the
standby/sleep mode. Light off when the system is power off.
YHDMI
The HDMI LED indicator lights up in green to indicate the HDMI output
you switch.
ZYPbPr
The YPbPr LED indicator lights up in green to indicate the component
video output you switch.
[VIDEO
The VIDEO LED indicator lights up in green to indicate the
VIDEO/S-VIDEO output you switch.
\LAN
The LAN LED indicator illuminate in green when you are connected to the
wired LAN (Local area network) or wireless network. The LED indicator
blinks when the data is transmitted via LAN.
]USB port
Remove the plastic cover on the front panel to connect to the supported
Universe serial Bus devices, such as USB hard disc, and wireless USB
dongle.

Connection Port of rear panel
XDC IN
Connect to the DC output of power adapter.
YLAN
Connect to the RJ-45 Ethernet 10/100 based network. Be careful not to
plug the telephone line into the LAN connector.
ZS-VIDEO
Connect to the display with the S-VIDEO IN/ AUDIO L/R IN jacks on the
display using S-VIDEO/ AUDIO L (White)/R (Red) cables. For better
quality picture connection, use the S-VIDEO jack if it is available.
[VIDEO OUT
Connect to the display with the VIDEO IN/ AUDIO L/R IN jacks on the
display using VIDEO (Yellow)/ AUDIO L (White)/R (Red) cables.
\Y/Pb/Pr
Component port is used to connect to a Y/Pb/Pr-compatible display.
Three video and two audio jacks (AUDIO L/R) for a Y/Pb/Pr display need
to be connected using a component video cable with green, blue, and red
connectors.
]HDMI OUT
Connect it with display’s HDMI input connector. Since HDMI transmit both
video and audio information, there is only one cable without connecting
the audio jack.
^S/PDIF
Connect Peer 2 Player to a display that has an optical digital audio port,
using an optical digital audio (also called S/PDIF) cable.
Note: After connecting the cables, the Video Output item of the Setup
menu must be set to CVBS/S-VIDEO/ COMPONENT/HDMI position.

Setting up Peer 2 Player ZIN-5003
Step1: Cable connections.
Choose the connection that match the input jack of your display with the
appropriate cables.
A. To connect display with HDMI port.
B. Digital sound system connection with S/PDIF jack.
For digital output, we recommend to use S/PDIF optical audio cable to
connect your amplifier or digital home theater system.
C. To connect display with three component VIDEO and AUDIO L/R
jacks.
D. To connect display with AUDIO L/R and S-VIDEO/VIDEO jacks.

Step2: Wired LAN or wireless LAN (Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g) connection to
hook up display as a part of home network.
A. For content streaming from your computer and internet, prepare an
Ethernet cable for connecting broadband router to your modem. And
plug another Ethernet cable into the network RJ-45 jack on the rear
panel of the Peer 2 Player and the corresponding network jack on the
router.

B. If you have the optional wireless USB dongle we approved, content
streaming is possible wirelessly using Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. We
recommend you use USB extension cable for connecting your USB
dongle into Peer 2 Player. You need to plug USB dongle into one of the
USB port on the front panel of Peer 2 Player and connect to internet
through wireless router. Set up your wireless Access Point (AP) or
broadband router according to the instructions that come with it. You
may need to know your wireless AP or router’s name and encryption
keys for security purpose in setting up procedure.

C. Set up your Software Environment in the remote PC side:
To use this Peer 2 Player to access folders on your computer, you need to
designate your PC’s folders as shared resources.
If PC’s operation system is Windows XP, please use the Network Setup
Wizard to set up your computer for home networking and refer to the
Microsoft’s official website:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/setup/homenet
.mspx to see the initial and detailed process of Network Setup Wizard.
If you have files that want to share with the Peer 2 Player on LAN, please
refer to the below instructions.
(1) Click Network and Internet Connections in your OS and select
Properties of Local Area Connection.
(2) Click the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, and then
select install. Click Add to select the Client, Service and Protocol.
After returning to the previous Properties menu, click “OK”to
confirm the setting.
(3) Click the folder you desired to share, select the sharing tabs of
Properties. Then check “Share this folder”and input the share
name, user/password for accessing the folder.
If your PC system is Microsoft Vista, follows the below steps:
(1) Open the Control Panel and then open Network and Sharing
Center.
(2) Click the down arrow to the right of File Sharing to expand it.
(3) Click Turn on file sharing and then click Apply.
The setting ways of the other Windows series OS or others operating system,
please refer the hub, switch or router instruction for details to set the local
network environment of each PC, or go to your PC’s Help to search for
“sharing files”.
You can connect your external display using both a wired and a wireless LAN
connection to your network equipment, router or AP (Access Point), but only
one network connection is supported at a time. All the essential setting steps
of the Peer 2 Player please see the navigating description in Network of
Setup menu to select wired or wireless connection.

Step3: Connect USB devices, if available.
Step4: Power cord connection
Plug one end of the power cord into the back of Peer 2 Player and the other
end into a power outlet.
Step5: Press the button on the front panel of Peer 2 Player, and the
Power LED would be lighted with blue color. Or press the button on the
remote control to turn the Peer 2 Player on. After the BIOS and operating
system booting screen was appeared, the main menu will be displayed.

Identifying the remote control button
1 Press to turn the Peer 2 Player on and off.
2 Display the main menu screen.
3 Go back to the last page.
4 Press to display the information when playing
media files, such as the video resolution, file
name, date and so on.
5 Press to switch the video output between
CVBS/S-VIDEO, COMPONENT, and HDMI under the
top main On-Screen Menu.
6 Press to display the subtitle of video.
7 Press to move highlight to the desired item of
menu.
8 Press to select an adjusted item.
9 Press to mute the sound.

Press to adjust the volume.
11 Fast backward to previous track.
12 Fast forward to next track.
13 Multi functions keys. You can refer the instructions
in the screen when playing the media files.
14 Press to stop the playback and return to the
previous On-Screen menu. Under Download Media
BT page, press to delete the downloaded files.
15 Press play or pause media playing.

OSD Main Menu instructions
1. Once the system is booted, pressSTWXand OK to access the desired
option. The option where the highlight is positioned is the target option.
On-Screen main menu give you the access to the following features:
(1) PC media: This option allows you to connect the multimedia, such
as videos, music and pictures those are alive in local area network.
(2) USB media: If you have already plugged the USB mass storage
device with multimedia format, you can enter this option to search
the files and display on your TV.
(3) Download Media: Catch the .torrent seed file on USB hard drive or
remote PC you downloaded, and then you can access this item to
download and play media files.
(4) Info Push: The option offers the RSS reader which is used to
publish the regularly updated content such as the news headlines,
advertisement.
(5) Setup: The setup function is used for Network configurations,
system, and software update and system information. You can also
select the “Default Setting” to initialize your system to the default
factory value.
2. Use STWXOK to enable or adjust the selected function in sub-menu.

Setup Menu
Network Setting
If your wired network equipment such as router, AP uses DHCP to assign IP
address automatically, by default the Peer 2 Player within the local area
network (LAN) will automatically request the IP and other related information
over the network setup in the DHCP of Network Setting Menu. If your
network does not have DHCP server or the internet connection of this Peer 2
Player does not work, switch to Network mode to set up the Static IP
connecting way and various parameters manually. If you have compatible
wireless USB devices and already set up wireless router/AP according to the
instructions that come with it, please enter the Network mode to select
wireless to input WEP or WPA keys.
DHCP
1. Press STWXOK to access the Setup on the main menu, and Press S
TOK buttons to select Network.
2. Press the STOK buttons to select Wired or Wireless on the Network
menu, and press the STOK buttons to select DHCP option.
3. Press the STOK buttons to select Yes to implement DHCP network
setting. Peer 2 Player will automatically get its IP address from a DHCP
sever built into the access point or router.

Static IP
1. Press the STOK buttons to select Wired or Wireless on the Network
menu, and press the STOK buttons to select Static IP option.
2. Press the OK button to recall the on-screen keyboard, and press the
STW Xbutton to input the value of IP Address, Subnet mask,
Gateway, and DNS text box respectively. After inputting the value,
pressST to highlight Save to manually implement the network setting.
Please acquire information of these setting values from your ISP(Internet
Service Provider)first.
Wireless Network setting
1. Press the STOK buttons to select Wired or Wireless upon the Network
menu, and press the STOK buttons to select Wireless option.
2. Most wireless Access Point (AP) provides encryption functions that can
avoid unintended users who are not at the same wireless LAN user group
to access or get information. This Peer 2 Player will show the available
list of the encryption modes (WEP/ WPA) you have already set up. Press
the ST OK button to select the desired WEP or WPA encryption mode.
Note: Peer 2 Player doesn’t support WPA2-PSK encryption mode.
3. Press the OK button to recall the on-screen keyboard, and press the
STW Xbutton to input the keys.
4. Please follow the steps 1~3 in the previous DHCP or Static IP setting
section to enter the connection ways chosen menu.

System
1. Press STWXOK to access the Setup on the main menu, and Press S
TOK buttons to select System.
2. Press the ST buttons to highlight each item of System menu and press
WXto setup the below option.
(1) OSD Language: For OSD language selection. The option included
English/ Traditional Chinese/ Simplified Chinese/ French/ Spanish.
(2) Video Output: For Video output selection, such as CVBS/ S-VIDEO/
COMPONENT/ HDMI.
(3) Aspect Ratio: For aspect ratio selection, including Full, 16:9 Pillar
Box, 4:3 Letter Box.
(4) Video Resolution: Adjust the video resolution for 480i, 480p and
720p. Under the HDMI Video output, only 480p and 720p resolution
can be selected. Under the CVBS/SVIDEO output, only 480i can be
supported.
(5) Audio Output: Analog and S/PDIF output format selection.
(6) One Touch Play: Allows you to setup Movie Play/ Music Play/ Photo
Slide Show the quickly access of your external USB device or select
Off to disable this function. In the main menu, you can press
to enter the movie/music/ photo shared files list directly.
3. After pressing WXto select the desired option, press the ST buttons to
highlight Apply and press OK to confirm to implement the system setting.

Default Setting
1. Press the STOK buttons to select the Default Setting of Setup menu,
and the default alarm message will pop up.
2. Press WXOK buttons to select Yes to erase all personal setting or select
No to return the previous menu. After returning the defaults, the initial
installation wizard page will be appeared and return to CVBS/S-VIDEO
source.
System Information
1. Press the STOK buttons to select the System Information of Setup
menu, and you can see the Software related information of Peer 2 Player.
2. Press the RETURN button on the remote control to the previous menu.

Software Update
1. Press the STOK buttons to select the Software Update of Setup
menu, and the default alarm message will pop up. Regularly software
version of Peer 2 Player may be improved and modified, and this function
allows you to upgrade the software online it runs to take advantage of
these changes.
2. Press WXOK buttons to select Yes to update the software or select No to
return the previous menu.
