5.2 Appliance malfuncons
Malfuncon Possible causes Soluons
The device is not
operaonal • No display
• The pool temperature is above the set-
point temperature
• A message is displayed on the screen
• Absent or inadequate water ow-rate
• The parameter «on/o ctrl» is on «yes»
• Check the supply voltage and the fuse F1
• Increase the set-point temperature
• Check the meaning of message §5.1
• Check the water ow-rate (by-pass, ltraon)
• Shunt the bornes7-8 and modiy the parameter
on «No» (see §2.4.4 «Remote on/o control»)
The device is
operaonal, but
water temperature
fails to rise
• Inadequate ltering me
• Non-compliant period of use
• The heat pump is under-dimensioned
• The automac pool water ller is
blocked in the open posion
• The heat insulang cover is not used
• The evaporator is clogged
• The device is incorrectly installed
• A message is displayed on the screen
• Set the ltering system to manual 24- hour
operaon for temperature control
• Check that outdoor temperature is within the
operang range (see §1.3)
• Check the characteriscs of the heat pump
according to the pool
• Check the correct operaon of the automac
ller
• Fit the heat insulang cover
• Clean the evaporator (see §4.1)
• The device must be installed outdoors.
• Check that there is no obstacle less than 4 metres
from where the blower is facing, and 0.50 metres
behind the heat pump (see§2).
• Check the meaning of message §5.1
The fan is turning,
but the compressor
stops from me
to me without
an error message
appearing
• The heat pump does defrost cycles
from me to me
• The evaporator is clogged
• This is normal if the outdoor temperature is below
10 °C
• Clean the evaporator
The heat pump
makes trip the
circuit breaker
• The circuit breaker rang is too low or
inappropriate
• The cable cross-secon is too small
• The supply voltage is too low
• Voltage drops when the compressor is
powered on
• Varistor(s) VA1 and/or VA2 is/are out of
order
• Check the circuit breaker (see § 2.4.3).
• Check the cable cross-secon (see § 2.4.3)
• Call your electricity provider
• Add a so starter for models M5, MD5 and M7
• Replace the varistor(s)
5.3 FAQ
Is it possible to
improve temperature
performance?
In order to
improve the
eciency of
your heat
pump it is
recommended
that you:
• Protect the pool with a cover (oang cover, roller cover, etc.), to avoid
heat loss
• Choose periods when the outside temperature is warm (on average
> 10°C) in order to facilitate the temperature increase (this may take
several days. The actual me will vary according to weather condions
and the power of the heat pump)
• The higher the ambient air temperature, the more ecient the heat
pump will be
• Keep the evaporator clean
Check that
ltraon me
is sucient
• During the heang phase, water ow must be connuous (24/24)
• To maintain the temperature throughout the season, allow for
“automac” ow of at least 12 hours/day (the longer automac ow is
used, the more me the heat pump will have to funcon and to heat the
water)
Seng the set-point to maximum will not heat the water any faster.
Why is my heat pump
not heang? • On start-up the device remains on «pause» for 3 minutes before actually starng up: check
that this period has passed
• Once the pool has reached the set-point temperature, the heat pump switches o: check
that the water temperature is lower than the requested temperature (see §3.2)
• If the water ow-rate is zero or inadequate, the heat pump will stop: check that water is
owing correctly through the heat pump, and check the hydraulic connecons
• When the outdoor air temperature drops below 5 or -8 °C, the heat pump will stop: check
the outdoor temperature
• The heat pump may have detected a malfuncon: check if an error code is displayed on
the screen, if so refer to §5.1
• If the problem persists aer you have checked all of the above points: contact your
installer
