CAUTIONONTHEUSEOFTHISCLEANERINAPOOLWITHAVINYLSURFACE
The surface of certain vinyl patterned surfaces can wear rapidly and the patterns disappear on contact from
objects such as cleaning brushes, toys, inflatable buoys, chlorine distributors and automatic pool cleaners. The
decoration on some vinyl surfaces can be scratched or worn by basic friction such as through the use of a pool
brush. The colours of certain patterns can also be erased during use or when in contact with objects in the pool.
The erased patterns, wear or scratching of vinyl surfaces are not the liability of Zodiac® and are not covered by
the limited warranty.

1.4Recommendationsforuse
• When the pool is dirty, especially when using the cleaner for the first time, remove the largest debris using a net in order
to optimise cleaner performance.
• Remove any thermometers, toys and other objects that might damage the cleaner.
• Thecleanermustoperateinpoolwaterunderthefollowingcondions:chlorine<3mg/L,pHbetween6.8and7.6,
temperature between 15 °C and 35 °C.
• Immerse the cleaner before launching a cleaning cycle.
• Start by launching several bottom-only mode cleaning cycles.
• Never cover the control box while the cleaner is in operation.
• You can operate the filtering pump during a cleaning cycle and the particles placed in suspension by the cleaner will thus
be filtered out. However, if when the filtering pump is operational, the cleaner is influenced by the jet at the discharge
nozzles, we advise you to switch off your cleaner and use it when the filtering pump is not operating.
• Ifpartofthepoolisnotproperlycleanedchangetheplacewhereyouimmersethecleanerunlyoundthebestspot.
• Regular use of the cleaner means that your pool will always be clean and the filter less clogged.
Donotuseyourcleanerduringshockchlorination!
1.5Immersingthecleaner
Bathingisprohibitedwhenyourcleanerisinthepool.
• Roll out the full length of the cable alongside the pool to avoid the cable becoming entangled during immersion.
• Placethecleanervercallyintothewater(1).
• Moveitslightlyinalldireconssothattheaircontainedinthecleanerescapes(2).
• Itisessenalthatthecleanersinksonitsownandselesonthepoolboom.Whileitisimmersed,thecleanerdraws
the length of cable it needs into the pool (3).

For optimal performance, place the control box in the centre of the pool, following the safety conditions relat-
ing to electrical connection (see § 1.6).
1.6Electricalconnection
- Use of an electrical extension is prohibited when connecting the control box.
- Choose a dry, flat place free of any objects that may damage the underside of the control box.
- Place the control box on the caddy at a distance of at least 3.5 metres from the edge of the pool, avoid plac-
ing the control box in direct sunlight.
• Unscrewtheprotecvecap(1).
• Connecttheoangcabletothecontrolboxandlockitintoplace:rmlyghtentheringby
turning it clockwise.Makesuretheconnectorissucientlypushedintoplace.Ifthisisnot
thecaserepeattheoperaon(2).
• Connect the mains cable. Only connect the control box to a power outlet protected by a 30
mA maximum ground fault circuit breaker (ifindoubtcontactaqualiedelectrician).
Don’t forget to screw the protective cap back on if you unplug the control box power
cord.
Make sure that you only screw the connector ring to avoid damaging the floating
cable.
Make sure that you screw the connector fully to protect it against any water getting
in.

4.Startingacleaningcycle
4.1Startingupthecleaner
Under normal conditions, the cleaner is effective enough that no more than 3 cleaning cycles per week should
be necessary.
• Whenyouconnectthecontrolbox,theoperangmefortheselectedcycleisdisplayed(OV3500-RV4550-RV5400
-RV5470-RV5500).
• You can launch a cleaning cycle by pressing the buononthecontrolboxortheremotecontrol(OV3500-RV
4550-RV5500).
• Thescreenthendisplaysthemeremainingforthecleaningcycle,example: (OV3500-RV4550-RV5400-
RV5470-RV5500).
4.2Choosingacleaningcycle(OV3500-RV4400-RV4460-RV4550-RV5400-RV5470-RV5500)
• Onrstuseadefaultcleaningcycleisprogrammed.Theindicatorsbelowareon:

The cleaning cycle can be customised at any time, before the cleaner starts or while it is operating. If you cus-
tomise the cycle during operation, the new cycle will begin instantly and the remaining time countdown will be
reinitialised.

4.5Stoppingthecleaner
• Press the buononthecontrolbox.
• If you want to stop the cleaner when "remove from pool" mode is active, press the buttonquicklytostopthe
cleaner and the control box.
RV4550-RV5400-RV5470-RV5500-OV3500-:Thecontrolboxswitchestostandbyafter10minutesand
thescreenisswitchedoff. Just press any key to exit standby mode. Standby mode does not stop the cleaner if
it is in a cleaning cycle.
4.6Storingthecleaner
• Take your cleaner out of the water at the end of the cleaning cycle.
• The behaviour of the robot is strongly impacted by the tangling of the cable. Please untangle the cable and lay it out in
the sun so that it returns to its original shape.
• Donotleavethecontrolboxindirectsunlightaerhavingusedthecleaner.
• Ifyouhavethecaddy,placethecleanervercallyintheposionprovidedforittodryoutquickly.Thenwindupthe
oangcableonthecaddyhandletoavoidthecablebecomingtangledup.
5.Programmingcleaningcyclesforwhenyouareaway(RV5400-RV5470-RV5500)
Itisnotrecommendedtounplugthepowercordoncetheprogrammedcleaningcycleshavecompletedas
thiswilldeletethemesengs.Themesengwillbesavedforapproximately2minutesifthepower
cordisdisconnected.

7.Maintenance
7.1Cleaningthefilter
The cleaner performance can be reduced if the filter is full or dirty. Make sure you clean the filter regularly
with clean water for efficient pool cleaning.
Filteraccess

If the indicator on the control box lights up, it is strongly recommended
to clean the filter to optimise cleaning performance.
Replace the filter support every 2 years to preserve
the integrity of the cleaner and guarantee optimum performance.
7.2Replacingthebrushes

• Toremovewornbrushes,removethetabsfromtheholesinwhichtheyarexed.

• The cleaner must be cleaned regularly using clean or slightly soapy water, do not use solvents
suchastrichloroethyleneorequivalent.Rinsethecleanergenerouslyusingcleanwater.Do
not let your cleaner dry in the sun by the pool.
• Thecleanermustbestoredonthecaddyprovidedforthisusesothatitdriesquickly.
• Wind the cable around the hooks.
7.5Recycling
Thissymbolmeansthatyourcleanermustnotbethrownintoanormalbin.Itwillbe
selectivelycollectedforthepurposeofreuse,recyclingorcreatingvalue.Ifitcontainsanysubstancesthatmaybe
harmfultotheenvironment,thesewillbeeliminatedorneutralised. Contact your dealer for recycling information.
Do not throw the spent batteries into the domestic waste. Place them in a collection point or approved centre for recy-
cling.
8.Troubleshooting

8.5Pre-diagnosticmenuintheeventofamalfunction(OV3500-RV4550-RV5400-RV5470-RV5500)
If your cleaner malfunctions you have access to a menu which gives some indications on the status of your cleaner. This
information can be used by your reseller to troubleshoot a possible breakdown.
