This manual has been wrilten so that it can be easily
understood also by first-time users. However, the
2020 offersseveralspecial functions which are not
available with
a conventional compact effector. This
section explainssome of the terms used throughout
the manual to describe such functions.
Effect Module
The2020 offers fivc basic effcct groups, as shown in the
illustrationbelow. Such
an effect group is referred to as an
"effect module". Each effect modulecan
bc thought of as a
singlecompact effector. Thc 2020 therefore operates like fivc

Effect Type
Each effectmodulc conlainsseveral effect variations which
arc called "cffcct typcs". Each eflect module can usc one
effecttype at a time. For

Patches and Groups
The 2020 allowsyou to ilsc a maximum of five effcct
modules simultaneously. A combination of effect modules,
each with individual parametcr settingsplus the final oulpul
levcl setting, is referred to as a "patch".

are storcd:the user group for patchcs created by thc user,
and
the prcsct groupfor factory defined patches where only ~hc
outpul level can
be changed.
