3P Technik Twin Filter User manual

Operating and assembly instructions
3P Twin Filter
Rainwater filter for bigger roof areas
Item No. 1000650 Twin Filter
Item No. 1000650 + 1000654 Twin Filter trafficable
The 3P Twin filter can be installed in an underground chamber or outside in frost-free regions
directly on the wall. The filter can be delivered to the construction site in the shaft in pre-assem-
bled condition. Due to its 2-stage cleaning principle, it has a high degree of efficiency indepen-
dently of the volume of flow. The filtered-out dirt is continuously flushed towards the sewerage
system due to the steep inclination of the filter inserts. The clean water is collected in a sump
and directed to the reservoir.
How it works:
1. Incoming rainwater is collected in the sump and
evenly directed on both sides via the cascades =
weir over principle.
2. Pre-cleaning according to the cascade principle.
Coarse dirt is directed straight to the sewerage system
via the cascades.
3. Pre-cleaned water is guided to the filter mesh screens
(mesh width 0.65 mm). The filtered-out dirt is flushed into
the sewerage system via the bottom connections due to
the special owen mesh structure and the steep inclination of the mesh.
4. The cleaned water is collected in the central sump and directed
to the rainwater storage tank via one or both connections.
5. The filtered-out dirt is flushed into the sewerage system
via the shaft or pipe outlet.

Installation in the pilot shaft:
Standard concrete shafts with a diameter of Ø 1000 mm can be used. The openings for the
supply and drain lines should be made using a core drill. In doing so, please observe the
following points:
1. Determine the diameters of the supply and drain lines
and select the appropriate drill or core bits.
2. Place the filter into the shaft and connect using short
pipe sections rockers through the concrete walls.
The connections can then be later quickly and easily
made on the construction site.
3. Seal off the openings in the concrete shaft either with
seals (Forsheda or Densio) or wall foam.
4. When installing the pipes, pay attention to the height
differences and position of the connections,
see table on the left side below
When inserting the shaft in the ground, compress the soil well and install the shaft in horizontal
position. Compress the soil underneath the pipes well. No ground settlement must occur in order
to keep the filter housing free from tension. The cascade inserts must be easy to remove and
re-install. This ensures perfect functioning.

Cleaning and Maintenance:
Cleaning: Spray the inside of the filter with water, clean the sump.
Remove the filter inserts and rinse with water. High-pressure
cleaners may also be used.
Afterwards loosen the filter mash with an Allen key. To degrease the
mesh fabric (pollen, heating oils, etc.) the mesh must be thoroughly-
cleaned using a detergent and a brush.
Rinse well, re-insert the mesh, place the cascade inserts back
into the filter.
Maintenance: In the first year, check the filter every three months,
to obtain an idea of the degree of contamination, then clean
as required, at least twice a year.
Recommended Accessories:
Wall bracket for Twinfilter for installation on the wall
The wall mounting bracket for the Twin Filter* is required for wall installation.
The brackets are fastened to the wall at the desired height (heavy duty steels).
Push the filter rear side first into the recesses provided and fix using the
enclosed washers and nuts. Ensure filter sits horizontally for optimal
functioning. All UK filters come with a wall bracket. Item No. 1000655
