1. Safety
1.1 Safety instruction
Make sure that any personnelinstalling:
• are technically qualified and competent

Safety instructions inthis manual are shown in
three different forms to emphasizeimportant

1.2 Specified applications
The liquid level indicator is used in oil-insulated
transformer to indicate the conservator tank oil
level. Inside the device are usually installed up to
four micro-switches to signal somecritical oil
levels. The micro-switches can givealarm or
transformer power off signals
It is important to observethe limit values
indicated on the nameplate and in the operating
instruction before commissioning the device

FOR COMEM eOLI/eOLI22
The electrical micro switches operate at an advance angle ≤ °5
with respect to the min or max indications of the oil level in the
conservator. When there is a double contact, for e.g. double
MIN and/or double
MAX (schemesY o W) the second contact operates at
about 5° after the first contact.

. 3. Installation
3.1 Comem eOLI
Insert thearm with float through the machined
hole on theconservatorPlace the o-ring on the
slot behind the gauge
(Fig.1/B) . Align the flange (Fig.1/C - stud length:
20±1 mm) with the threaded pins or holes
(Fig.1/A) (depending on the conservator flange
type). The gauge has to be assembled onthe
flange using four screws M4x12 (Fig.1/D). The oil
level indicator flange has to be assembled using
the items showed in the table 1.

3.1 Comem eOLI22
Insert thearm with float through the machined
hole on the conservator. Place the o-ring in the
slot behindthe flange (Fig.1/C). Insert the flange
on the threaded pins (Fig.1/A) of the conservator
flange and fix it with the items showedin the
table 2 (Fig.1/B). Fixthe gaugeon the flange
using 4 screws M4x12 (Fig.1/D).
3.3 Comem eViewer
Arrange the transformer with a dedicated place
followingthe schemein the figure 3. The
connectioncan be donein two alternativeway:
• threaded pin andnut M6
• screws M6

3.4 Modbus parameter
In order to implement a communication network
with eOLI/eOLI22 communicating in Modbus
RTU, the following communication parameters:
shall be considered:

4. Electrical connection
4.1 Micro switch wiring
Wire the electrical cablesin accordance with theordered
model following the electricalscheme
showed in the Fig.4.
4.2 Analog output and Modbus
communication wiring (Comem eOLI and
eOLI-22)
4.2.1 Power voltage
Connect the power voltage (as written on the
label on the terminal box cover – Fig.5)to
terminals 1-2 24 Vdc ±10% polarized
4.2.2 Analog output
Terminals for analog output 4-20 mA: 6-7
Maximum resistance: 450 Ω
4 mA = 0% (minimum arrow position)
20 mA = 100% (maximumarrow position)
4.2.3 Modbus communication
Digital output RS485: terminals 3-4
(for the Modbus registerand address, check the
complete manual instruction Manual instruction)
4.3 Comem eViewer wiring
4.3.1 Power voltage
Connect the power voltage (as written inside the
terminal box, Fig.5) to terminals 1-2.
24 Vdc ±10%
4.3.2 Analog input
Connect the analog signal (as written inside the
terminal box, Fig. 5) to terminals 6-7 4-20 mA:
- Negative Comem eViewer (3) with negative
Comem eOLI (7).
- Positive Comem eViewer (4) with positive
Comem eOLI (6)

5. Troubleshooting
Issue What to do
eOLI/eOLI22 do not provide any 4-
20mA/Modbus output
Check that the eDevice is properly fed with
24 VDC between terminals 1 (
- ) and 2 ( - ) –
Blue LEDs (one fixed and one blinking)
shall be powered on
Not possibleto read Modbus output
on eOLI/eOLI22 If the eDevice is properly powered on (see below row),check the Modbus ID and
register number
Pointer onthe dial is always at the
lowest position Check that the floating element is not damaged
eViewer does not indicate any value
even if it is connected to the
eOLI/eOLI22
Check the polarity connection of the 4-
20mA terminals
