Emergency actions
If the gas detector initiates an alarm signal or there is a smell of gas, keep calm and
carry out the following actions:
• Extinguishallnakedames,includingallsmokingmaterial,e.g.candles,cigarettes.
• Turnoallgasappliances,e.g.gasheater,gascooker.
•
Donotswitchonoroanyelectricalequipment,includingthegasdetector.
• Turnothegassupplyatthegasmaincontrol.
• Open doors and windows to increase ventilation.
• Leave the building, warn your fellow residents and make sure they also leave.
• Do not use a telephone in the building where gas may be present.
• Calltherebrigadefrom outside the building - Emergency call: 112.
• Do not re-enter the building until you have ensured that there is no more gas
present.
Ifthegasalarmcontinuestooperate,evenaeranalarmresettingaction,where
appropriate, and the cause of the leak is not apparent and/or cannot be corrected,
vacate the premises and notify the gas supplier in order that the installation may
be tested and made safe.
Preventive measures
Inform every person in your household about the dangers of gas and the triggering
of a gas alarm. Make sure that in case of alarm each person knows what to do. Crea-
teanemergencyevacuationplanfromeachroom/oortoadesignatedmeeting
point outside the house. Practice at least once a year the alarm with your family
and improve your escape routes and explanations if problems occur.
Maintenance, testing and care
The green "Power" LED must always be on. The LED shows you that the gas alarm is
turnedonandeverythingisworkingproperly.IfthegreenLEDisnoton,rstcheck
if the plug is still in or the socket is still live. If this does not seem to be the prob-
lem, the detector is likely to have an internal defect and must be exchanged.
Verify the unit's sound and LED light by pushing the "Test" button once a month.
The gas alarm is maintenance-free.
Alarm, Maintenance, testing and care
•Onlycleanthedetectorwithaso,drycloth.Donotuseanydetergents
containing alcohol, acid, gasoline, chemicals or other similar products.
These agents attack the surface of the device and damage it.
• Do not allow water to penetrate inside the device!
• Do not clean the device in a dishwasher!
Warranty
ABUS products are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with appli-
cable regulations with great care. The warranty exclusively covers faults that are
caused by material or manufacturing defects. If a material or manufacturing defect
can be proven, the product will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of the
warrantor. In such cases, the warranty ends with the termination of the original
warranty period. Any further claims are expressly excluded.
ABUS assumes no liability for defects or damage that has been caused by external
inuences(e.g.transport,externalforces),improperuse,normalwearandtearor
non-compliance with this operating and installation instructions document. If a
warranty claim is asserted, the product must be returned with the original receipt
with date of purchase and a brief written description of the fault.

Disposal
This product contains valuable raw materials. At the end of its service life, dispose
of the product in accordance with the applicable legal requirements. Electrical
appliances, rechargeable batteries and batteries must not be disposed of with
household waste. Disposal must be carried out in accordance with Directive 2012/19/
EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), or Directive 2006/66/EC on
batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators. Batteries must
be removed from electrical appliances and disposed of separately before disposal.
Dispose of the packaging according to type. Separate the cardboard, foil and plastic
