3. Installation, operation and f nction
Yo r ADE PWN5 compact scale with stainless steel ho sing is a q ality prod ct designed for
non-approvable checkweighing.
The scale is remarkable for its easy handling. Thanks to the small digit interval, precise weight
meas rements can be performed easily and q ickly.
An a dible signal in conj nction with freely programmable minim m and maxim m limits
expands the possible applications, for example, when weighing rec rring weights.
The stainless steel ho sing is waterproof according to IP67 protection class and can also be
sed in wet working environments.
To achieve precise meas rement res lts, please read the operating man al caref lly and
follow the instr ctions contained therein. Keep this man al in a safe place for f t re reference.

3.8 Taring
There are two taring options: a tomatic taring when yo t rn on the scale and taring d ring the
weighing process.
With a tomatic taring, p t the container to be tared on the scale before t rning on the scale
and then t rn on the scale. The display will show “0”. As soon as yo p t the object to be
weighed into the container, only the net weight of the object to be weighed will be displayed.

weighed.
Press and hold down the [TARE] b tton for 3 seconds to set the minim m and maxim m
val es for checkweighing. After a short beep, the “LOW” symbol will flash and switch back to
the “0” display. Now place the weight corresponding to the minim m weight on the weighing
platform and press the [SET] b tton to confirm. A beep will so nd to confirm the stored
minim m val e.
The “HIGH” symbol flashes now. Now add the corresponding weight to the minim m weight
ntil the desired maxim m val e is reached and press the [SET] b tton to confirm. A beep will
so nd to confirm the stored maxim m val e.
Remove the weight from the weighing platform.
If yo now place an arbitrary weight on the weighing s rface, a beep will so nd as long as the
applied weight is below or above the set val es.

PWN5-191210-Rev005-UM-en 6
Briefly press the [SET] and [TARE] b ttons at the same time to delete the stored minim m
and maxim m val es. The scale will confirm the inp t with a short beep.
