Thank you for choosing
ADT Health On-The-Go
Emergency Response System
We welcome you to the ADT family. If you
have any questions please call our support
team at 800.568.1216 (option 1). They are
available 24/7/365.
Your On-The-Go Emergency Response System
is comprised of a digital cellular mobile device
with a wireless emergency help button (wristband,
standard neck pendant or Fall Detection pendant).
Because the connection is cellular, the On-The-Go
Emergency Response System does not require a
home telephone line.

Setting up your system
Select a location
ƼPlace the mobile device cradle charger
in an easily accessible area of the home
such as the bedroom.
ƼPlace it near an electrical outlet.
STEP ONE
Plug in the power cord
ƼPlug the power cord that is attached to
the back of the cradle charger into an
electrical outlet that is not controlled
by a light switch.
STEP TWO
Caution
To avoid accidentally turning o the
cradle charger, do not plug it into an
electrical outlet that is controlled by
a light switch.
Warning
To avoid electrical shock, please keep
the system away from wet locations.

STEP THREE
Yellow light
ƼPlace the mobile device in the
cradle charger.
ƼThe yellow light on the front of the cradle
charger will illuminate. When the yellow
light is solid (not blinking) this indicates the
device is charging at a slow rate. When the
yellow light is blinking, this indicates the
device is charging at a fast rate. This occurs
when the battery level is very low. If yellow
light does not illuminate, this indicates the
mobile device is either fully charged or make
sure you have placed the mobile device
correctly in the charger.

ƼThe mobile device will turn on within 10
seconds and then it will take about 60
seconds for the mobile device to register
with the network.
ƼThe red battery light will come on,
indicating that the device still needs
charging. When the device is fully
charged, the red light will turn o.
It will take up to 3 hours for the
device to be fully charged.

STEP FOUR
ƼPress the on/o button on the
side of the mobile device and hold
for approximately 5 seconds or
simply place the mobile device in
the cradle charger, assuming the
cradle charger is plugged in.
ƼAll the lights will turn on and the
green light will start blinking. This
indicates the Mobile Device was
successfully turned on and you will
hear “system ready.”
Important: Please note that when
the mobile device is turned o, you
will not be able to call for help. If
the mobile device is turned o, it
will automatically turn on again
when placed in the cradle charger.

ƼIf you need to turn the device o,
again press the on/o button and
hold until the red battery light
illuminates, then all the lights will
turn o. This indicates your mobile
device was successfully turned o. On/o

STEP FIVE
ƼPress and hold the test button on
mobile device (the button on the
side with the letter “I”).
ƼYou will hear an announcement over
the mobile device that will instruct
you to press the emergency button
or pendant.

hear “thank you for testing your
device” from the mobile device.
ƼIf the help button is not working
properly or if the light is blinking
rapidly, please call our support team
at 800.568.1216. They are available
24/7 /365.

“test call sent to Emergency
Response Center.”

STEP SIX
ƼPress the help button (wristband,
standard neck pendant or Fall
Detection pendant) rmly one time
(2 seconds).
ƼIf button’s red light ashes, this
indicates that a signal is being sent
to the mobile device.
ƼThe mobile device says several times
“call in progress.”

Help button
ƼWhen the call goes through it says,
“please stand by for operator.”
ƼAn emergency operator will
communicate with you through
the mobile device.
ƼPlease state clearly to the operator
that “this is a test.”
ƼYou can also test the help buttons
using the test button on the mobile
device. If you do not explain to
the operator that you are testing
your unit, emergency help could be
dispatched.
Note: The mobile device will not
transmit an emergency call if you
have already sent one within the
previous two minutes.

Using your On-The-Go system
To call for help
ƼPress one of the help buttons: neck
pendant, Fall Detection pendants,
wristband or mobile device.
ƼWhen you hear an operator asking if
you are okay, please provide your status.
ƼIf you need help, ADT will work with you
and the data transmitted by your mobile
device to determine your location. Help
is dispatched by ADT through the closest
available public emergency responders.
ƼIf your location cannot be determined,
ADT will call your primary contact
number as well as emergency contacts.
ƼADT cannot dispatch to a moving vehicle.
ƼThe mobile device provides voice
announcements-such as “call in
progress” when an emergency call is
initiated. There may be situations where
the voice prompts don’t complete the
entire phrase when another voice event
occurs. In this instance, the latter voice
prompt event cuts in and the current
voice prompt may be ended prematurely.

The Mobile Device 4.0 provides voice announcements

Note
There may be situations where the
voice prompts may not complete
the entire phrase when another
voice event occurs. In this instance,
the latter voice prompt event will
cut in and may override the current
voice prompt.

Fall detection pendant voice guidance
Event Voice prompt Notes
Mobile device

“Fall detected - press and
hold button to cancel.”
This will occur for about 20 seconds and will allow
you time to cancel the alarm. During this time,
you may press and hold the button on the fall
button for 5 seconds to cancel the signal.
Fall alarm
is canceled “Alarm canceled.” Alarm has been canceled.
20-Second window

The signal will then be sent to the monitoring
center and an operator will call your mobile device
and/or the base station to assess your situation
and dispatch the appropriate help to you.

Using the Mobile device with Fall Detection
If you ordered a fall button, it will work
simultaneously with the mobile device.
Here’s how it works:
• Once the fall button detects a fall, it
will send a signal to the mobile device.
• Once the mobile device receives the fall signal,
it will announce “fall detected - press and hold
button to cancel.” This will occur for about 20
seconds and will allow you time to cancel the
alarm. During this time, you may press and hold
the button on the fall button for 5 seconds to
cancel the signal. If the signal is canceled, the
mobile device will announce “alarm canceled.”
• After the 20 second wait period has ended,
the mobile device will announce “fall detected
contacting Emergency Response Center.”
• The signal will then be sent to the monitoring
center and an operator will call your mobile
device to assess, your situation and dispatch
the appropriate help to you.

Important safety information
• You must always carry the mobile device
with you when going outside of your home.
• Keep electrical cords away from heat sources
and sharp edges.
• Keep electrical cords away from areas where
someone could trip over them.
• Use caution when handling electrical cords.
• Never install electrical cords during a
lightning storm.
• Do not use any attachment or accessory that is
not intended for use with this system.
• Test your system using the test button when
possible, as instructed in this user guide.
• The wrist button and/or neck pendant are
designed to work at an approximate range of
100 feet from the mobile device, depending on
the size and construction of your home.
• The mobile device can be used in the shower.
Do not submerge in water.
• The mobile device contains sensitive hardware,
take care when handling and avoid dropping it.
• Do not expose the mobile device to dust, dirt,
sand or food.
• The mobile device’s battery is designed to
last over 24 hours after it has been charged
for 3 hours.
• Wear your waterproof help button at all times.

Important safety information
• The mobile device has a GPS receiver that
works best when it has an unobstructed view
to the sky.
• The neck pendant, wrist button and fall button
are waterproof and can be taken with you in the
shower. The mobile device is water resistant and
can also be taken with you in the shower.
• Do not put the neck pendant or wrist button
through the clothes washer or dryer. Do not
attempt to dry your button out in the microwave
or oven.
• If the LED on your pendant ashes amber, the
battery is low. Please contact customer support
immediately to provide you with a replacement
pendant.
Warning
Strangulation and choking hazard.
The neck pendant button lanyard
has been designed to break away
when tugged. However, the user
can still suer serious personal
injury or death if the cord becomes
entangled or stuck on objects.

How do I call for help?
Press your neck pendant, wrist button, or
the emergency button on your mobile device.
Do I need my mobile device
when I leave my home?
Yes, always take your mobile device with you when
leaving your home. Wear your pendant or wristband
at all times at home and away so help is never out
of reach.
What if I am on a call on my home
phone when I need help?
The On-The-Go Emergency Response System
communicates using digital cellular service. It does
not interact or interfere with your home phone line.
What happens if I push the
button, but I can’t speak?
If you are unable to speak or be
heard, a second call will be made to
your home. If you do not respond to
the second call, the authorities will
be notied that there is a potential
emergency. Help will be dispatched to
the address on le with ADT through
the closest available public emergency
responders and the personal contacts
listed on your prole will be notied.

Frequently asked questions
If I accidentally set o the alarm, what
do I do?
If you accidentally set o the alarm, let the alarm
go through then simply inform the emergency
operator that this is a “false alarm”. The operator
will disconnect, and no further action will be taken.
Why is the emergency operator having
trouble understanding me?
The microphone in the mobile device is very
sensitive, and can pick up surrounding noises from
your television, radio, wind from ceiling fans, and
the like.
How will emergency
responders get into my home?
Emergency responders follow dierent
procedures. In most cases, emergency
responders are authorized to break into
your home to help you and cannot be
responsible for any damages as a re-
sult of gaining entry. However, you are
encouraged to provide ADT with infor-
mation on the best way for emergency
responders to gain access to your home
during an emergency (hidden keys, keys
with neighbors, lock box codes, etc.).
