5. Before lowering the gr der bl de, m ke sure no one
is ne r the re of oper tion.
6. Lower the gr der bl de when le ving the tow
vehicle un ttended.

bl de.
8. Tow vehicle br king nd st bility m y be ffected
by the gr der bl de. Drive slowly with the gr der
bl de in the tr nsport position. Stay off steep
slopes.
9. Stop nd inspect the equipment for d m ge fter

10. Keep ll nuts nd bolts tight nd be sure th t the
equipment is in s fe oper ting condition.
11. Before tt ching or removing the gr der bl de, p rk
nd lock the tow vehicle in s fe condition.

ASSEMBLY

(1) 1-1/2" Wrench or 14" Adjust ble Wrench

Remove ll loose p rts nd the h rdw re p ck ge from
the shipping c rton. Then l y out nd identify e ch p rt
nd the common h rdw re s shown on p ges 2 nd 3.
Be sure the c rton is empty before it is disc rded.
1. Assemble the bl de scr per to the bl de ssembly
using seven 3/8" x 1" c rri ge bolts nd seven
3/8" Nylock hex nuts. Tighten. See figure 1.
When inst lling the scr per to the bl de ssembly,
be sure the scr per is on the curved (dished) side
of the bl de ssembly nd th t the c rri ge bolts
re inst lled with the hex nuts on the b ck of the
bl de ssembly. M ke sure ll hex nuts re tight.
2. Turn the m st ssembly so th t the cross br ce is
t the bottom nd the hole in the side of the m st
ssembly is close to the bottom. Pl ce the m st
ssembly onto the thre ded stud on the bl de
ssembly. Turn 1" slotted hex nut down onto the
stud until it is snug. The cross br ce should be in
front of the bl de. See figure 2.
CAUTION: THE BLADE SCRAPER AND
BLADE ASSEMBLY HAVE SHARP
EDGES. USE CARE IN HANDLING AND
ASSEMBLY. WEAR GLOVES FOR
EXTRA PROTECTION AGAINST CUTS.

3. B ck the slotted nut off until the first slot is ligned
with the hole in the thre ded stud or until the m st
ssembly c n pivot on the bl de ssembly. Inst ll
cotter pin through the hole in the stud. Then
bend both ends of the cotter pin round the crown
of the nut to secure the pin nd nut. See figure 3.

4. Att ch the m st support to the hole in the m st
ssembly just in front of the thre ded stud. Use
1/2" x 4" hex bolt nd 1/2" Nylock hex nut inst lled
so th t the nut is on the bottom side of the m st
ssembly. Do not tighten yet. See figure 4.
5. Att ch two m st br ces to the sides of the m st
ssembly using 1/2" x 3-1/2" hex bolt nd 1/2"
Nylock hex nut. Use the end of e ch br ce with the
sm llest hole. Do not tighten yet. See figure 5.
6. Att ch two m st sides to the m st support using
1/2" x 3-1/2" hex bolt nd 1/2" Nylock hex nut. Use
the end of the m st side with two holes, inserting
the hex bolt through the sm ller hole. Do not
tighten yet. See figure 6.

7. Connect the lower end of e ch m st side nd the
front end of the e ch m st br ce to the ends of the
m st ssembly's cross br ce using two c tegory 1
pins, two 7/8" lock w shers, nd two 7/8" hex nuts.
See figure 7.
Be sure the thre ded end of e ch c tegory 1 pin is
tow rd the center of the gr der fr me so th t the
thre ded ends f ce e ch other. Securely tighten
the hex nuts g inst the lock w shers. Tighten all
previously inst lled m st h rdw re.

8. Lock the bl de ssembly to the m st ssembly by
inst lling pivot pin t the re r of the m st ssem-
bly. Secure the pin using h ircotter pin through
the hole in the end of the pivot pin. See figure 8.
9. Inst ll pivot pin through the hole t the upper end
of the m st sides to provide connection point for
the tow vehicle's winch system. Secure the pin
with h ircotter pin through the hole in the end of
the pivot pin. See figure 8.
CAUTION: USE CARE WHEN WORKING
AROUND A RAISED GRADER BLADE.
KEEP YOUR FEET AND HANDS FROM
UNDER THE SCRAPER BLADE AT ALL
TIMES. SERIOUS INJURY CAN RESULT
SHOULD THE GRADER BLADE DROP
UNEXPECTEDLY.

2. The bl de c n be set to push or pull dirt, with three
gr ding ngle settings in both the forw rd nd
reverse positions. Do not use the reverse position
if the bl de is tt ched to 3-point hitch tr iler.
The tr iler is designed for towing only.
3. To rot te the bl de to the desired setting, first
r ise the gr der bl de so th t the scr per bl de is
just off the ground. Remove the pivot pin from the
m st ssembly nd rot te the bl de. Align the
hole in the m st with hole in the pivot pl te nd
inst ll the pivot pin, securing it with the h ircotter
pin. See figure 9.
4. To prevent the bl de from digging deeper t one
end, be sure the bl de is level from side to side
nd the m st ssembly is level from front to b ck.
Front to b ck leveling prevents the bl de from
digging deeper t one end when the bl de is
rot ted to n ngled setting. Refer to your 3-point
hitch m nu l for instructions on leveling the gr der
bl de tt chment.
MAINTENANCE
1. Check for nd tighten ny loose h rdw re before
e ch use.
2. Check scr per bl de for we r. The bl de c n be
turned top for bottom for ddition l life.
3. Cle n the scr per bl de nd lightly oil ny b re
met l fter e ch use.
4. Remove ll dirt nd rust. Touch up p int before
pl cing gr der bl de in stor ge.
5. Store gr der bl de inside dry re .

OPERATION
The gr der bl de is used to level nd smooth ro d or
other l ndsc pe surf ces.
1. Before st rting, if you re going to be gr ding dirt,
m ke sure it is dry enough by squeezing some in
your h nd. If it forms b ll th t doesn't crumble,
the dirt m y be too wet for gr ding.
