1.1 SPECIFICATIONS 1.2 DESCRIPTION
Is a complete semi-automatic welding unit with continu-
ous DC current and constant voltage. This compact appa-
ratus, capable of welding materials of 0.5 mm (24 gauge)
to 6.35 mm (1/4 in) thickness, is ideal for use in small-
scale manufacturing,garages and body shops. Easy to
use, has a wide range of applications and produces a
high-quality welding arc. Is portable, weighing 28 kg (62
lb) and performs well across its whole range of adjust-
ment. An optional torch with incorporated pay-out reel of-
fers a practical instant solution.

1.4 DUTY CYCLE AND OVERHEATING FACTOR
The duty cycle is the percentage of time within ten minutes during which the unit can function under pressure
without overheating. If the unit should overheat, the output current will stop and the overheating indicator will
light up. If this happens, allow the unit to cool down for 15 minutes. Reduce the intensity of the welding current,
the voltage or the working cycle before re-starting.
•An excessive working cycle can damage the unit and invalidate the guarantee.
1.5 VOLT-AMPERE CURVES
The volt-ampere curves indicate the maximum intensity and voltage of the welding current generated by the
unit.
Curves for the other setting values can be extrapolated from those shown below.

2.1 CONNECTING THE UNIT TO THE ELECTRIC CIR-
CUIT
This equipment tolerates a variation of +/- 10% in
supply voltage. Ensure that the connector is well-
equipped with fuses capable of supporting the
intensity indicated in the table of specifications for
the unit.
Fumes and gas produced by welding
can be dangerous if inhaled for prolonged peri-
ods of time. Observe the following advice:

ods of time. Observe the following advice:
1. Consult the table of specifications for electri-
cal energy requirements.
2. The operator should have free access to con-
trol and regulatory equipment and to all con-
nections.
3. Do not position the unit is small or enclosed
areas. Ventilation of the area is extremely
important. Ensure that air admission points
are not obstructed and that there is no risk of
obstruction during operation, in order to elimi-
nate possible risk of overheating and damage
to the unit.
4. Avoid dirty and dusty locations where dust
could be drawn into the inside of the unit by
the ventilation system.
5. The equipment (including the cables) must
not constitute an obstacle to the free move-
ment or work activities of other people.
6. Position the unit on a stable surface to prevent
it from falling or being knocked over.
7. Bear in mind the possibility of the unit falling
when placing it high above floor level.
2.3 CHANGING THE POLARITY
EXTINGUISH THE UNIT BEFORE ALTERING
CONNECTIONS
USE WITH NON-GAS WIRE (check polarity with
the wire manufacturer)
1. Connect the earth cable to the positive termi-
nal located inside the unit.
2. Connect the welding cable (Ref 1 – Fig.1) to
the negative terminal located inside the unit.
USING WITH WIRE AND INSERT GAS FOR
WELDING SOFT STEEL.
1. Connect the earth cable to the negative termi-
nal located inside the unit.
2. Connect the welding cableto the negative ter-
minal located inside the unit.
3. Install a tube between the pressure reducing
valve of the gas canister and the input connec-
tor positioned behind the unit.
2.4 FITTING THE TORCH
EXTINGUISH THE UNIT BEFORE PROCEEDING
TO CONNECTIONS
Before connecting the torch, ensure that the reel
installed corresponds to the diameter of the wire
to be used. Also check that the dimensions of the
slot in the drive roller, the contact tube and the
guiding tube correspond. Check that the guiding
tube does not touch the rollers.
To install the welding torch, follow the instruc-
tions below:

ADJUSTMENT.
1. Place reel on hub and turn the brake setting
screw (refer to fig. 2) until gentle force is
required to uncoil the reel. Use an 11/16 in
wrench.
2. Open the rollers on the drive unit.
3. Repoint the wire and cut off the tip.
4. Thread the wire over the rollers then insert it
in the torch guide sheath.
5. Close and re-tighten rollers on the wire.
6. Remove the nozzle and the contact tube at the
end of the torch.
7. Press the trigger until the wire emerges.
8. Replace the contact tube and the nozzle.
9. Withdraw wire to check roller pressure.
Tighten the clamp fixture sufficiently to pre-
vent any slip. Cut off surplus wire and close
the waste door.
2.6 CONNECTING THE UNIT AND PREPARING TO
WELD
1. Open the gas pressure reducing tap and adjust
the flow rate according to the welding posi-
tion.
2. Position the earth clamp on the object to be
welded, at a point free of rust, paint or plastic.
-The low settings of the power on switch
should be used for materials of low thickness.
-Remember that each position of the power on
switch corresponds to one wire advance
speed, which can be adjusted with the help of
an appropriate potentiometer.

3.0 OPERATION
3.1 CONTROLS ON FRONT PANEL
1. SPEED OF WIRE ADVANCE
Use this control to adjust the speed of wire
advance. The greater the welding intensity, the
greater the wire speed required (see label
affixed to unit).
2. POWER SELECTOR
The greater the thickness of the material to be
welded, the higher the power selector must be set
(see label affixed to unit).
Do not operate the selector whil ewelding.
The same switch is used to ignite and extin-
guish the unit.

DISCONNECT THE POWERSUPPLY
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY MAINTENANCE
WORK.
Dust should be carefully removed from the inside
of the unit on a regular basis (about every 5 - 6
months), using a spray gun (after removing the
side panels). BE CAREFUL NOT TO TWIST THE
JET OF THE TORCH TO AVOID DAMAGING IT.
The equipment should be serviced more fre-
quently when working in dirty or dusty conditions.
4.1 MAINTENANCE OF THE TORCH
NOZZLE: spray regularly with an anti-bonding
product and clean the inside of the nozzle.
To replace the contact tube:
1. Remove the gas nozzle.
2. Unscrew the contact tube.
3. Press the trigger: after a few seconds, wire
emerges from the tip of the torch.
4. Insert the wire into the new contact tube and
screw the tube on to the torch.
5. Replace the gas nozzle.
6. Cut off surplus wire.
DIFFUSER: the gas output openings should
always be kept clean and clear of obstruction.
To change the diffuser:
1. Remove the gas nozzle.
2. Unscrew the contact tube.
3. Unscrew the diffuser and replace it.
4. Screw the contact tube back on.
5. Replace the gas nozzle.

1.2 DESCRIPTION
Est un poste de soudage semi-automatique com-
plet, à courant continu DC et tension constante.
Cet appareil compact, capable de souder des
matériaux d'épaisseur allant de 0,5 mm (24 jauge)
à 6,35 mm (1/4 in), est idéal pour la petite fabrica-
tion, le garage et la carrosserie. Facile à utiliser,
présente une grande souplesse d'utilisation et
délivre un arc de soudage de qualité supérieure.
Appareil portable, pèse 28 kg (62 lb) et présente
d'excellentes performances sur toute sa plage de
réglage. Une torche optionnelle à dévidoir
incorporé offre une solution pratique et immédi-
ate.

Le facteur de marche est le pourcentage de temps sur 10 minutes pendant lequel le poste peut fonctionner en
charge sans surchauffer. Si le poste surchauffe, le courant de sortie s'arrête et le voyant de surchauffe s'allume.
Dans ce cas, laisser le poste refroidir pendant quinze minutes. Réduire l'intensité du courant de soudage, sa ten-
sion ou le cycle de travail avant d'opérer à nouveau.
•Un cycle de travail excessif peut endommager l'appareil et annuler la garantie.
1.5 COURBES VOLT-AMPERE
Les courbes Volt-Ampère indiquent l'intensité et la tension maximales du courant de soudage généré par le
poste.
Les courbes pour d'autres valeurs de réglages s'extrapolent des courbes représentées ci-dessous.

2.1 RACCORDEMENT DU POSTE AU RÉSEAU ÉLEC-
TRIQUE
Cet appareil tolère une variation de +/- 10% de la
tension d'alimentation. S'assurer que la prise de
courant soit bien équipée de fusibles pouvant
supporter l'intensité indiquée sur le tableau des
caractéristiques de l'appareil.
Les fumées et les gaz de soudage
peuvent être dangereux s'ils sont inhalés pen-
dant de longues périodes. Respecter les consi-
gnes suivantes:

1. Consulter le tableau des caractéristiques pour

2. L'opérateur doit pouvoir accéder librement
aux organes de contrôle et de réglage ainsi
qu'aux connexions.
3. Ne pas placer l'appareil dans des locaux petits
et fermés. La ventilation du poste est très
importante. S'assurer que les ouies de ventila-
tion ne soient pas obstruées et qu'il n'existe
aucun risque d'obstruction pendant le fonc-
tionnement, ceci afin d'éviter tout risque de
surchauffe et d'endommagement de l'appareil.
4. Eviter les locaux sales et poussiéreux où la
poussière pourrait être aspirée à l'intérieur de
l'appareil par le système de ventilation.
5. L'équipement (y compris les câbles) ne doit
pas constituer un obstacle à la libre circulation
et au travail des autres personnes.
6. Placer l'appareil sur une surface stable afin
d'éviter tout risque de chute ou de renverse-
ment.
7. Penser au risque de chute de l'appareil lor-
sque celui-ci est placé dans des positions
surélevées.
2.3 CHANGEMENT DE POLARITÉ

1. Brancher le câble de masse à la borne posi-
tive située à l'intérieur du poste.
2. Brancher le câble de soudage (Réf 1 – Fig.1) à
la borne négative située à l'intérieur du poste.
UTILISATION AVEC FIL ET GAZ PROTECTEUR
POUR LE SOUDAGE DE L'ACIER DOUX.
1. Brancher le câble de masse à la borne
négative située à l'intérieur du poste.
2. Brancher le câble de soudage à la borne
négative située à l'intérieur du poste.
3. Installer un tuyau entre le détendeur de la
bouteille de gaz et le raccord d'entrée placé à
l'arrière de l'appareil.
2.4 MISE EN PLACE DE LA TORCHE
ÉTEINDRE L'APPAREIL AVANT DE PROCÉDER
AUX CONNEXIONS
Avant de connecter la torche, s'assurer que la
gaine installée correspond au diamètre du fil qui
sera utilisé. Vérifier aussi la correspondance des
dimensions de la gorge du galet d'entraînement,
du tube-contact et du tube de guidage. Vérifier
que ce dernier n'entre pas en contact avec les
galet.
Pour installer la torche de soudage, procéder
comme suit:

2.5 INSTALLATION DE LA BOBINE DE FIL ET
RÉGLAGE DU FREIN.
1. Placer la bobine sur le moyeu et tourner la vis
de réglage du frein (voir fig. 2) jusqu'à ce
qu'une faible tension soit nécessaire pour
dérouler le fil. Utiliser une clé de 11/16 in.
2. Ouvrir les galets du groupe d'entraînement.
3. Redresser le fil et en couper l'extrémité.
4. Faire passer le fil sur les galets et l'introduire
dans la gaine de guidage de la torche.
5. Refermer et serrer les galets sur le fil.
6. Enlever la buse et de tube-contact à l'extrémité
de la torche.
7. Presser la gâchette jusqu'à ce que le fil sorte.
8. Remettre le tube-contact et la buse.
9. Faire sortir le fil pour vérifier la pression des
galets. Serrer le presseur suffisamment pour
éviter tout patinage. Couper le fil en excès et
refermer la porte du dévidoir.
2.6 BRANCHEMENTS ET PRÉPARATION DE L'APPA-
REIL POUR LE SOUDAGE
1. Ouvrir le robinet du détendeur de gaz et régler
le débit en fonction de la position de soudage.
2. Placer la pince de masse sur la pièce à souder,
en un point exempt de rouille, peinture ou
plastique.
-Les premières positions du commutateur sont
utilisables pour des matériaux de faible épais-
seur.
-Se souvenir aussi qu'à chaque position du
commutateur correspond une vitesse
d'avance du fil, réglable à l'aide du potenti-
omètre approprié.

3.0 UTILISATION
3.1 COMMANDES DU PANNEAU AVANT
1. VITESSE D'AVANCE DU FIL
Utiliser cette commande pour régler la vitesse
d'avance du fil. Plus l'intensité de soudage est
élevée et plus grande doit être la vitesse du fil
(voir l'étiquette placée sur le poste)
2. SÉLECTEUR DE PUISSANCE
Plus l'épaisseur du matériau à souder est impor-
tante et plus le sélecteur doit être placé sur un
chiffre élevé (voir l'étiquette placée sur le poste).
Ne pas manœuvrer le sélecteur pendant le
soudage.
Le même commutateur sert pour allumer ou
éteindre le poste.
3.2 PANNEAU ARRIÈRE

DEBRANCHER L'ALIMENTATION
AVANT TOUTE OPERATION DE MAINTENANCE.
Régulièrement (tous les 5-6 mois environ), élim-
iner soigneusement la poussière à l'intérieur du
poste en utilisant une soufflette (après avoir
enlevé les panneaux latéraux). PRENDRE SOIN DE
NE PAS ENTORTILLER LE FAISCEAU DE LA
TORCHE POUR LE PAS L'ENDOMMAGER.
Augmenter la fréquence des interventions en cas
de travail dans des conditions sales ou pous-
siéreuses.
4.1 ENTRETIEN DE LA TORCHE
BUSE: pulvériser régulièrement un produit anti-
collage et nettoyer l'intérieur de la buse.
Pour remplacer le tube-contact:
1. Enlever la buse gaz.
2. Dévisser le tube-contact.
3. Presser la gâchette: au bout de quelques sec-
ondes, le fil sort à l'avant de la torche.
4. Passer le fil dans le nouveau tube-contact et
visser ce dernier sur la torche.
5. Remettre en place la buse gaz.
6. Couper le fil en excès.
DIFFUSEUR: maintenir les orifices de sortie de
gaz toujours propres et bien dégagés.
Pour changer le diffuseur:
1. Enlever la buse gaz.
2. Dévisser le tube-contact.
3. Dévisser le diffuseur et le remplacer.
4. Revisser le tube-contact.
5. Remettre la buse gaz.

Es un equipo de soldadura semiautomático completo por
corriente continua CC y tensión constante. Este aparato
compacto, capaz de soldar materiales con un grosor entre
0,5 mm (calibre 24) y 6,35 mm (1/4 pulgadas), es ideal
para fabricación a pequeña escala, talleres mecánicos y
carrocería. Fácil de usar, ofrece gran sencillez de uso y un
arco de soldadura de calidad superior. El aparato portátil
pesa 28 kg (62 lb) y proporciona un rendimiento excelente
en toda su gama de reglaje. El soplete opcional con bobina
incorporada constituye una solución práctica e inmediata.

1.4 FACTOR DE MARCHA Y DE SOBRECALENTAMIENTO
El factor de marcha es el porcentaje de tiempo en 10 minutos durante el cual el equipo puede funcionar en carga
sin sobrecalentarse. Si el equipo se sobrecalienta, se detiene la corriente de salida y se enciende el visor de
sobrecalentamiento. En este caso, deje que el equipo se enfríe durante quince minutos. Reduzca la intensidad de
la corriente de soldadura, su tensión o el ciclo de trabajo antes de volver a usarlo
•Un ciclo de trabajo excesivo puede averiar el equipo y anular la garantía.
1.5 CURVAS VOLTIO-AMPERIO
Las curvas Voltio-Amperio indican la intensidad y la tensión máximas de la corriente de soldadura generada
por el equipo.
Las curvas para otros valores de reglaje se extrapolan en las curvas aquí mostradas.
