USING YOUR APPLIANCE
REMOTE CONTROL SETUP:
• Remove the battery cover on the back
of the remote control and insert 2 X
AAA batteries (not supplied), then close
the cover.
• When using the remote control, point
the remitting port (at the top of the
remote control) directly at the receiver
window on the DVD player.
• If the remote control will only function
a short distance from the DVD player,
replace the batteries. Always replace
both batteries at once.
• Check the batteries regularly. Any
leakage can damage the remote
control.
CONTROLS:
NOTE: Some of the listed controls are
specic to the control panel or remote.
SPECIFIC TO CONTROL PANEL:
• OPEN: Slide to open the disc tray.
• VOL - : Press to decrease the volume.
• VOL +: Press to increase the volume.
• MODE: Press to switch between AV and
DVD mode.
• TFT ON/OFF: Press to turn the screen
on or o.
• SETUP: Press to enter the Setup menu.
• MENU: Press to return to the root menu
of the DVD.
• DVD/USB/SD: Press repeatedly to
switch between DVD, SD Card and USB
source input modes.
• OK: Press to conrm a selection.
SPECIFIC TO REMOTE:
• MUTE: Press to mute the sound.
• POWER: Press to put the DVD Player
on standby, or to turn it on.
• NUMBER BUTTONS: Use for entering
numbers to choose DVD chapters, set
the time etc.
• VOL +: Press to increase the volume.
• VOL -: Press to decrease the volume.
• MENU: Press to return to the main
menu of a disc or DVD.
• SLOW: Press to play the disc in slow
motion, without sound. Press again to
turn o the slow motion.
• STOP: Press to stop playback.
• REPEAT: Press repeatedly when
watching a DVD to repeat the chapter,
repeat the title or turn o the repeat
function.
• Function.A-B: Press the A-B button
at the point where you want to begin
repeat play, and then press again at the
point where you want to stop repeat
play. The selected section will repeat
until cleared or cancelled.
• PBC: Press to return to the PBC menu.
• ZOOM: Press to select 2X, 3X or 4X
Zoom. Press again to turn o the Zoom
function.
• SD/USB: Press to toggle between SD
and USB options.
• SUBTITLE: If the disc is equipped with
subtitles, press this button repeatedly
to select a subtitle language, or to turn
o the subtitles. This DVD player will
support up to 32 dierent languages.

• AUDIO: Press to select the right or left
output option.
• RETURN: Press to return to the track
list menu during playback, on any disc
that is not a DVD.
• LEFT/RIGHT/UP/DOWN: Press to
navigate between menu options.
• ENTER: Press to conrm a selection.
• PLAY/PAUSE: Press to play a disc,
press again to pause playback.
• FWD: Press to fast forward quickly.
• REV: Press to rewind quickly.
• PREV: Press to skip to the previous
chapter or track.
• NEXT: Press to skip to the next chapter
or track.
• PROG SEARCH: Press to reprogram
the playback order of a programmable
disc.
• SETUP: Press to enter the Setup menu.
• MODE: Press to switch between AV and
DVD mode
• LCD MENU: Press to enter the display
settings menu.
• COPY: Press to copy tracks from DVDR
to USB or SD, or to copy les between
USB and SD.
• TITLE: Press during DVD playback to
return to the disc’s root menu.
CHARGING:
This player is powered by a lithium-polymer
battery. It features a high ratio of energy
to weight. It has no memory eect and it
can be recharged at any time regardless of
whether it is fully or partially discharged.
It takes about six hours to fully charge the
battery and a fully charged battery can be
used for up to two hours.
Connect the attached AC/DC adapter to the
DC INPUT jack on the unit, and then plug the
adapter into a 240V AC outlet.
NOTE: Make sure to switch o the unit
before charging. The charging indicator LED
will change from RED to GREEN to indicate
that the battery has been fully charged.
CONNECTION TO TV:
This unit can be connected to a TV, allowing
you to enjoy your favourite lms and music
on a larger screen.
Use an AV cable to connect the AV OUT jack
on the unit to the AV IN jack on the TV.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE
MENU OPERATION:
1. Press SETUP on the remote control or
on the unit to show the setup menu.
2. Press LEFT/RIGHT to select an item.
A sub-menu for the selected item will
appear.
3. Use UP/DOWN to select an option,
then press OK/ENTER to conrm it or
press LEFT to cancel.
4. Press UP/DOWN to continue cycling
through items in the sub-menu.
5. Press LEFT to go back to the main
setup menu.
GENERAL SETUP PAGE:
There are six items in the general setup
page.
TV DISPLAY:
4:3
PANSAN
If the unit is connected
to a television a wide-
screen image will be
displayed on screen in
its native aspect ratio
with some of the right
and left sections cut
o.
4:3 LETTERBOX If the unit is connected
to a television a wide-
screen image will be
displayed on screen in
its native aspect ratio
with black borders on
the top and bottom,
allowing the full image
to be displayed.
16:9
WIDE
Select this option if the
unit is connected to a
wide-screen TV set.
A wide-screen image
will be displayed in
full screen in it native
aspect ratio, while the
4:3 image is stretched
horizontally to t to the
screen.

ANGLE MARK:
ON When a disc encoded
with multiple camera
angles is playing
the angle mark will
display on the screen.
View dierent camera
angles by pressing

OFF Select O to disable

OSD LANGUAGE:
OSD Select the on-screen

CAPTIONS:
ON Select On to show

SCREEN SAVER:
ON Select to turn the
screen saver function
on. If the image on
screen is motionless
for several minutes
(if the disc is paused,
stopped etc.), a screen
saver will appear on
screen. Press any key
to revert back to the
screen.
OFF Select to disable the
screen saver function.
LAST MEMORY:
ON Each time the DVD
player is turned o or
the disc is stopped, the
player will memorise
the last point of play.
The next time the unit
is turned on with the
same disc, playback
will start from the
memorised point.
OFF Select to disable the
last memory function.
AUDIO SETUP PAGE:
SPEAKER SETUP - DOWNMIX:
LT/RT The 5.1 channel
audio is mixed into
left channel and right
channel and is output
via the FL and FR
speaker respectively.
STEREO The 5.1 channel audio
is mixed into stereo
signal and is output via
the FL and FR speaker.

This menu is used to set the picture quality.
SHARPNESS:
HIGH High sharpness. Select

PREFERENCE SETUP:
This menu will be available if there is no
disc in the disc tray, or if the disc has been
stopped.
PBC:
ON Select to activate
the Playback Control
function.
OFF Disable the PBC
function.
NOTE: This function only works with discs
encoded with the PBC function such as VCD
2.0 or SVCD.
DVD, VCDI 1, CD-DA and MP3 discs all have
no PBC menu.

This function allows the user to set a
maximum rating for lms. Films rated
higher than the limit set for the parental
lock will only be viewable once the correct
keywords have been input.
This is a password protected system. The
default password is 136900.
NOTE: This function only works with discs
which include a parental function.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE
USB:
With the USB function, you can play video
les directly from a USB ash drive. Insert
the USB ash drive into the USB port and
press the DISC/SD/USB button on the
control panel or the SD/USB button on the
remote to select the USB function.
SD/MMC:
With the SD/MMC function, you can play
video les directly from an SD/MMC card.
Insert the SD/MMC card into the SD/MMC
card slot and press the DISC/SD/USB
button on the control panel or the SD/USB
button on the remote to select MCR mode
and play the les.
COPY:
Press the copy button on the remote
control to copy tracks from a DVDR or CD
onto a USB or SD card. You can also copy
les from USB to SD/MMC, or vice versa.
1. Slot in the SD/MMC card or USB drive,
and insert the CD or DVDR.
2. Press the copy button and the copy
menu will show on screen.
3. Select the required options and then
press enter to select the track(s) you
wish to copy. Press start to begin
copying.
4. A progress bar will appear on screen.
NOTE: the tracks will play during the
copying process.
SPEED Select between normal
or fast copying speed.
BITRATE Select between 128,
192, 256, 320, 96 or
112 Kbps.
CREATE ID Select (Yes) or (No)
PLAYBACK:
After all the connections are correctly
made, switch on the unit. Press the MODE
button to switch between AV and DVD
modes.
LOADING AND PLAYING A DISC:
1. Plug the unit in and turn it on by
icking the power switch to the ON
position.
2. Press the OPEN button to open the
disc tray. Place a disc in it with the
label side facing up.
3. Close the disc tray. The unit will load
the disc and start playing.
MP3/MPEG4 DISC PLAYBACK:
After the unit loads a MP3/MPEG4 disc, a
menu showing the contents of the disc will
display on the screen.
1. Press the UP and DOWN direction
buttons to select a le or a folder.
2. Press ENTER to enter the selected
folder. The le or the folder in it will be
listed instantly.
3. Press ENTER to begin playing the
selected le.
4. When the disc is stopped press the
LEFT button to return to the main
menu.

KODAK PICTURE CD PLAYBACK:
1. Place a Kodak picture CD in the disc
tray and the unit will load the disc
automatically.
2. Press B to display the menu showing
the contents of the disc.
3. In the menu, use the UP and DOWN
direction buttons to select a picture,
and then press ENTER or PLAY/PAUSE
to start playback from the selected
picture.
CONTROLS:
GOTO: Press the GOTO button and then
use the digit keys to select a
picture and playback from the
selected picture.
: Press once to pause playback;
press it again to resume
playback.
: Press to start or resume
playback.
REPEAT: Press continuously to switch
between repeat modes.
(Single—Repeat One—Repeat
Folder—Cancel Repeat).
: Press to skip to the previous
picture during playback.
: Press to skip to the previous
picture during playback.
ZOOM: During playback, press ZOOM
repeatedly to zoom in/out of the
picture or to return to the original
size. When the picture is zoomed
in, the direction keys can be used
to move the picture.
DIVX PLAYBACK:
DIVX is a video recording format,
commonly known as AVI. DIVX discs are
comparable in quality to DVDs and have a
larger capacity.

TROUBLESHOOTING THE APPLIANCE

CLEANING AND CARE
DVD PLAYER:
Use a soft, slightly damp cloth with a mild
detergent solution. Do not use solutions
containing alcohol, spirits, ammonia or
abrasives.
CLEANING DVDS:
When a disc becomes dirty, clean it with a
cleaning cloth. Start cleaning at the centre
and work your way towards the outer edge
of the disc.
Do not use solvents such as benzene,
thinner, commercially available cleaners, or
antistatic spray intended for analog records.
CLEAN THE DISC LENS
After prolonged use, dirt or dust may
accumulate on the disc lens. To ensure
good image and playback quality, clean the
disc lens with a camera lens brush or any
commercially available cleaners. Take care
to follow the instructions supplied with the
cleaner to prevent damage to the lens.
NOTE: DO NOT touch the lens directly with
your ngers as this may damage it or make
it dirtier.

CVBS: Composite Video Blanking and
Sync. A type of video signal
which is mainly analog.
DVD: A compact disc that stores
large amounts of high-
resolution audio-visual data.
DVCD: Double Video Compact Disc - a
type of VCD that holds video
and audio.
FPS: Frames per second.
L/R VIDEO
OUTPUT: Left and Right video outputs
for an RCA cable input. Colour
coded red and white to match
with the corresponding cable
connections.
LT/RT: 5.1 channel audio is mixed into
left channel and right channel
and is output via the FL and FR
speaker respectively.
L-MONO: In this mode, the DVD player
will output the left channel
audio only via both the FL and
FR speaker.
NTSC: A television display system
used in the U.S and Canada.
Delivers a frame rate of 30 fps
using 525 lines.
OSD: On-Screen Display. A control
panel that allows you to select
and edit the display (such as
brightness and contrast) and
select viewing options.
PAL: A television display system
commonly used in Europe and
parts of Asia. Delivers a frame
rate of 25 fps with 625 lines.
PBC: Playback Control.

STEREO
(DUAL MONO): In this mode, the DVD player
will output the left and right
channel audio via the FL and FR
speaker respectively.
STEREO
(DOWNMIX): The 5.1 channel audio is mixed
into stereo signal and is output

USB: Universal Serial Bus. A popular
connection for sharing and
transferring data from external
devices.
USB PORT: A port to connect a USB ash
