• Cleaning- Unplug this
product from the wall
outlet before cleaning. DO
NOT use liquid cleaners
or aerosol cleaners. Use a

• Lightning-For added
protection for this product
during a lightning storm, or
when it is left unattended
and unused for long periods
of time, unplug it from the
wall outlet and disconnect
the antenna or cable
system. This will prevent
damage to the product due
to lightning and power-line
surges.
• Safety Check - Upon
completion of any service
or repairs to this product,
ask the service technician
to perform safety checks to
determine that the product
is in proper operation
condition.
• Overloading - DO NOT
overloads wall outlets,
extension cords, or integral
convenience receptacles as
this can result in a risk of fir

USING YOUR APPLIANCE
BEFORE FIRST USE:
• Remove the product from the box.
• Remove any packaging from the
product.
• Please retain all packaging until you
have checked and counted all the parts
and the contents against the parts list.
• Your appliance is now ready for normal
use.
CHARGING THE RADIO:
This unit is fitted with an internal battery,
which can be charged from the mains using
a 9V adaptor (included).
1. To charge the unit using the included
adaptor, insert the 9V connector into
the dedicated jack, located under the
protective flap at the side of the unit.
Connect the plug end to a mains socket
to begin charging the unit. The battery
icon on the unit’s LCD screen will blink
to indicate the unit is charging.
2. The unit is fully charged when the
battery icon stops blinking.
NOTE: Battery levels are indicated by an
icon on the top right-hand side of the unit’s
LCD display. When battery levels become
particularly low, the message ‘LOW BAT’ will
appear on screen. When this occurs, connect
the adaptor to the radio, as described above,
and plug the unit into an active mains socket.
TURNING THE RADIO ON:
1. To turn the radio on, long press the
Power / Volume Control dial. The
message ‘Welcome to Digital Radio’ will
be displayed on the unit’s LCD screen to
confirm the radio is turned on.
2. Long-press this dial again to turn the
radio off.
NOTE: When you first turn on the radio, it
will default to DAB auto-scanning mode. To
select a different playback mode, refer to the
‘Selecting Frequency Modes’ and ‘Bluetooth
Mode’ sections below.
NOTE: If you intend to use the radio on FM
mode, make sure to pull out the aerial from
its notch at the back of the unit and place
it upright before attempting to tune into a
station. To ensure the best signal, try to place
the radio in an open area and away from
sources of interference, such as computers,
televisions, microwave ovens, etc.
PLUGGING IN EXTERNAL DEVICES:
1. To plug in external output devices, such
as earphones or portable speakers,
insert them into the earphone socket
located underneath the protective flap
at the side of the unit. For external input
devices, use the AUX IN jack located
next to it.
ADJUSTING THE VOLUME:
1. To adjust the volume of the radio, rotate
the Volume +/- dial.
2. Rotate this dial to the right to increase
the playback volume. Rotate it to the left
to decrease the playback volume.
3. When this dial is rotated, an indicator
bar will appear on the radio’s LCD
screen, showing the current playback
volume.
SELECTING FREQUENCY MODES:
This radio is equipped with FM and DAB
frequency modes.
1. Short press the DAB/FM button to select
your preferred frequency mode.
SELECTING/TUNING STATIONS:
1. To find and select radio stations
manually, first press the DAB/FM button
to select your preferred frequency if
required.
2. Once you have selected a frequency,
rotate the Station +/- dial to cycle
through available radio stations.

3. When you have found your desired
station, simply stop rotating the dial.
The radio will automatically stay tuned
to the station you have selected.
PRE-SETTING/STORING RADIO STATIONS:
This radio lets you pre-set and store up to 5
stations in both FM and DAB modes.
1. To pre-set a radio station to a memory
slot, first cycle through available radio
stations in your selected frequency.
2. Once you have tuned in to the station
you wish to save to memory, press one
of the Preset buttons located in the
control panel, numbered between 1 and
5. The station you are playing will be
saved to your selected slot.
3. To access your saved stations at any
time, simply press the relevant Preset
button on the unit’s control panel.
THE MENU FUNCTION:
This radio allows you to access additional
functions via the Menu/Enter button.
1. Press this button once to open the
options menu for your selected
frequency. Once this menu has been
brought up, use the Station +/- dial to
cycle through the available options.
2. To use a function from the menu, rotate
the Station +/- dial until you reach the
desired function, then press the Menu/
Enter button again to activate it.
The options menu includes the following
functions:
DAB Mode
Full Scan
Use this function to automatically scan
through all available radio stations in your
selected frequency.
Manual Tune
Use this function to manually find and select
a specific station. Use the Station +/- dial
to find your desired station, and press the
Menu/Enter button to confirm your selection.
DRC
The DRC function, or Dynamic Range
Compression, automatically equalises
playback volume to provide the best possible
balance.
Use the Station +/- dial to select this function
and press the Menu/Enter button to access
it. Once this function has been selected, use
the Station +/- dial again to choose between
high or low compression or turn the function
off. Press the Menu/Enter button to confirm
your selection.
PRUNE
This function automatically deletes radio
stations that have stopped transmitting or
moved frequency from your list.
Use the Station +/- dial to select this function
and press the Menu/Enter button to access
it. Once this function has been selected, use
the Station +/- dial again to turn the function
on or off. Press the Menu/Enter button to
confirm your selection.
FM Mode
Scan Setting
This setting allows you to optimise the
radio’s FM frequency scanning by choosing
between scanning all available stations or
only those with a strong signal.
To access this function, press the Menu/
Enter button when in FM mode. Press the
button again to enter the Scan Setting sub-
menu then use the Station +/- dial to cycle
through the two available options. Press the
Menu/Enter button again to confirm your
selection.
Audio Mode
This mode allows you to choose between
stereo and forced mono sound when
listening to FM radio.
To access this function, press the Menu/
Enter button when in FM mode, then use
the Station +/- dial to cycle through the two
available options. Press the Menu/Enter
button again to confirm your selection.

System
The System menu lets you access and
change a variety of technical settings within
the radio, such as time, date, language and
backlight, as well as reset the unit to factory
settings if required.
For instructions on how to access and
edit the unit’s System menu, refer to the
‘Changing System Settings’ section below.
NOTE: The System menu is available and
accessible in both FM and DAB modes.
Bluetooth Mode
As well as playing audio from DAB or FM
radio stations, this radio also lets you stream
wirelessly via Bluetooth.
1. To turn Bluetooth mode on, long-press
the Info/Bluetooth dial. You will hear
a sound and the word ‘Bluetooth’ will
appear on screen alongside a small
icon, to indicate the function has been
activated.
2. Once Bluetooth mode is activated, bring
up the Bluetooth menu on your smart
device. The unit will appear under the
name ‘A61028’ on the pairing list. You
will hear a chime to confirm the unit is
ready for pairing.
3. Tap the unit’s pairing name on the
Bluetooth menu of your smart device to
select it. The unit will automatically pair.
4. To disconnect Bluetooth mode, long-
press the Info/Bluetooth dial.
NOTE: When in Bluetooth mode, you can
control playback volume and track selection
either from your smart device or using
the unit’s control panel. To control these
settings directly from the unit, use the Play/
Pause button to start or pause playback, the
Volume +/- dial to increase or decrease the
volume and the < and > buttons to cycle
through your playlist.
1. Press the Play/Pause button to start
playback for your currently selected
track. Press the button again to pause
playback.
2. Rotate the Volume +/- dial to the right to
increase playback volume, or to the left
to decrease it.
3. Short-press the > button to skip
forward to the next track on your
playlist, short-press the < button to
return to the beginning of your current
track, or long-press it to skip back to the
previous track on your playlist.
CHANGING SYSTEM SETTINGS:
You can change a number of the radio’s
system settings by selecting ‘System’ from
the unit’s options menu. To access this
menu, and the ‘System’ option within it,
consult the ‘Menu Function’ section above.
Time
The Time function lets you edit the current
time and date displayed by the unit, select
your preferred display mode for time and
date or automatically find the correct
settings using the Auto Update function.
Changing the Time and Date:
1. Press the Enter/Menu button to access
a sub-menu where you can choose to
simply set the time and date, select
12 or 24 hour time cycles, change
the way the date is displayed, or use
the Automatic Update function to
automatically find and set the right time
and date.
2. Use the Station +/- dial to cycle through
these options, and press the Menu/
Enter button to access each of them.
3. When setting the time and date, press
the Enter/Menu button once to set the
hours, and again to set the minutes.
Press the button again from the Set
Time screen to change the day of the
month. From there, press it again to
change the month, and a third time to
change the year.
4. Use the Enter/Menu button to cycle
between hours and minutes or between
day, month and year, and the Station +/-
dial to select the desired time or date.
5. Once you are done setting the correct
time and date, press the Menu button
repeatedly until the message ‘Set Date
Saved’ is displayed on your screen. Your
settings have now been saved.

Auto Update:
1. Use the Auto Update function to
automatically find and set the correct
time and date. Use the Station +/- dial
to access this function from the Time
menu and press Menu/Enter to select it.
2. Once in the Auto Update menu, use
the dial to select between No Update,
updating from the DAB frequency,
updating from the FM frequency, or
updating from any available source.
Press Menu/Enter to confirm your
selection and activate the auto update
function.
Set 12/24 Hour:
1. Use this function to select between a 12
or 24 hour digital clock.
2. Press Menu/Enter to access this
function, and use the Station +/- dial to
cycle between the 2 available options.
Press Menu/Enter again to confirm your
selection.
Set Date Format:
1. Use this option to select the way the
date is displayed on the unit’s screen.
Press Menu/Enter to access this
function, and use the Station +/- dial to
cycle between the 2 available options.
Press Menu/Enter again to confirm your
selection.
Backlight:
This option lets you turn the unit’s screen
backlight on or off. Use the Station +/- dial to
select this function from the System menu,
and press Menu/Enter to access it.
1. Once this function has been selected,
use the Station +/- dial to select if you
wish to set the Timeout period or the
dimness level. Press Menu/Enter again
to confirm your selection.
2. In the Timeout or Dim Level menu, use
the Station +/- dial to cycle through the
available timeout periods (from 10 to
180 seconds) or dimness levels (low,
medium and high). Press Menu/Enter
again to confirm your selection and
return to the previous menu.
Language:
This option lets you change the language of
the system text and notifications.
1. Use the Station +/- dial to select this
function from the System menu, and
press Menu/Enter to access it.
2. Once this function has been selected,
use the Station +/- dial to cycle through
the available languages. Press Menu/
Enter to confirm your selection and
return to the previous menu.
Factory Reset:
1. You can reset the unit back to factory
settings from the System menu. Use the
Station +/- dial to select this function
from said menu, and press Menu/Enter
to access it.
2. Once this function has been selected,
use the Station +/- dial to select
between Yes or No when prompted.
Press the Menu/Enter button again to
confirm your selection.
NOTE: If you choose YES when prompted,
the unit will reset to factory settings. This
will erase all preset stations and settings. If
this option is selected, you will have to preset
all your desired radio stations and adjust all
relevant system settings again.
SW Version:
1. Select ‘SW Version’ from the System
menu to see the version of software the
radio is currently using.
2. Use the Station +/- dial to select this
function from the System menu, and
press Menu/Enter to access it.

TROUBLESHOOTING THE APPLIANCE
PROBLEM SOLUTION
The radio will not
turn on. Make sure the battery is charged and the device is turned on.
The radio will not
play. Make sure the device is powered on.
Make sure the volume level is higher than 0.
The radio will not
scan. Try manually resetting your radio. To manually reset the radio,
insert a thin object, such as a toothpick, into the earphone socket
and press the hidden switch located inside.
Info:
1. Press the Info button to view information
about your selected frequency on the
unit’s LCD screen.
2. In DAB mode, this option lets you view
the frequency, signal strength, program
type, ensemble/multiplex, transfer rate,
time, date and station name.
3. In FM mode, this option lets you view
the frequency, signal strength, program
type, output type (stereo or mono), time,
date and station name.
4. In AUX or Bluetooth mode, this option
lets you view the time and date.
5. Pressing the button again will bring up
information about the program type,
if one is selected. If no program type
is selected, the screen will display the
words NO PTY.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING:
Do not attempt to open any part of the power adaptor or plug.
(Power adapters only)
Never open the power adapter, you risk getting an electric shock.
Only use the power adapter that is supplied with your product.
You must always connect the power adapter to the product before connecting to the mains
power supply.
The power adapter must be used indoors only, and must not be subjected to damp
conditions.
The power adapter does not have any user serviceable parts.
If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this for you.
If you need to remove the plug – disconnect it from the mains – and then cut it off of the
mains lead and immediately dispose of it in a safe manner. Never attempt to reuse the plug
or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of an electric shock.

CLEANING AND CARE
1. Clean the unit with a soft, damp
cloth. Never use chemicals or hard
abrasives.
2. Keep this unit away from wet or damp
surroundings.
3. Store in a clean, dry place.
4. Do not expose the unit to extremely
high or low temperatures as this will
shorten the life of electronic devices,
destroy the battery and distort certain
plastic parts.
5. Don’t dispose of the unit in fire as it
will result in an explosion.
6. Don’t expose the unit to contact
with sharp objects as this will cause
scratches and damage.
7. Don’t let the unit fall to the floor. The
internal circuit might get damaged.
8. Don’t attempt to disassemble the unit
yourself, as it may get damaged.
CAUTION: Never leave the speaker
in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or
dusty places. Keep the speaker away
from heating appliances and sources of
electrical noise, such as fluorescent lamps
and motors.
RECYCLING
DISPOSAL OF THE UNIT:
Appliances bearing the symbol shown here may not be disposed of in domestic
rubbish.
You are required to dispose of old electrical and electronic appliances like this
separately.
