1 ECO MODE
Given the unique ECO MODE function on the DBX-76 baby monitor,
the transmitter can be automatically and COMPLETALY deactivated
when your baby is sleeping peacefully. The baby monitor will only be
turned on when necessary, for example if your baby is crying.
Take note that if the baby makes a sound, the baby unit will need to
make a connection with the parent unit again. As a result, the rst few
seconds of sound or short sounds may not be heard. If you wish to
hear every sound coming from the baby’s room, then set the sensiti-
vity of the baby unit to maximum (level = 5). At this level the baby unit
will stay on continuously. You can also disable the ECO MODE ON-
OFF switch located at the bottom of the baby unit.
More information about the ECO MODE can be found in Section 5.1.

5 OTHER FUNCTIONS
5.1 ECO MODE:
When the ECO MODE is switched on, the transmitter connection will
stop completely when the baby is asleep.
The ECO MODE can be turned on and off by using
the ON/OFF switch located at the bottom of the
baby unit (you can change this switch using a poin-
ted object). (ON = switches on ECO mode, OFF =
switches on ECO mode).
• Take note: In FULL ECO MODE there is no connection control, see
the following section.
5.2 CONNECTION CONTROL:

When the parent unit and the baby unit have a connection with each
other, the connection indicator ( ) on the parent unit will light up
continuously.
When the parent unit is out of range of the baby unit (if the baby unit is
turned off), the connection indicator light will ash. Double beep tones
will also sound repeatedly.
When the out of range problem is solved, the connection indicator will
light up continuously again and stop beeping.
Furthermore when the units are rst turned on, the connection indi-
cator will ash for ten seconds on the parent unit. This happens while
the parent unit is ‘searching’ for the baby unit. Once the baby unit is
‘found’, the connection indicator will light up continuously.

17
5.2.2 ECO MODE on:
If you have enabled the ECO MODE on the baby unit, as long as the

have an active continuous connection.
When the baby cries, the baby unit will re-establish an active connec-
tion with the parent unit and the link indicator will light up continuously.
Once the baby is quiet, the ECO MODE will be turned back on and the
light will blink again every 5 seconds.
When the ECO MODE has been switched on the baby unit it will be in

baby unit:
1. Press once quickly on the key on the parent unit, the parent
unit will send a signal to the baby unit and if you are in range of
the baby unit a signal will be send back as a conrmation.

of the baby unit; you will hear a beep tone and the connection
indicator will continue to ash every 5 seconds.
3. If the parent unit does not receive a signal back then you are
out of range of the baby unit, or it is switched off; you will hear 3
short beep tones and the connection indicator ashes 1x per se-
cond, you will hear 2 short beep tones and the display will show
[no connection]. Reduce the distance between you and the baby
unit (press regularly on the // key to check the connection).
5.3 BATTERY INDICATOR PARENT UNIT:
The parent unit is equipped with a battery indicator located on the
display:
battery full
battery 2/3 full

18
• When the parent unit is on the cradle/charger, the battery icon
will indicate that the batteries are charging. If the batteries are
full, the battery icon display will show full; the light will also ash
while the batteries are charging.
• If the parent unit is taken off the cradle charger, the battery icon
will change to show the power level of the batteries.
• Shortly after the battery-low indicator ( ) lights up, the parent
unit will turn off.
• After the parent unit is placed in the cradle/charger to recharge
the batteries, the parent unit can be used again.
Next to the battery icon on the display is a light which gives further
information as to the level of the battery:
• If the parent unit is in the cradle/charger but not switched on, the
light will ash as an indicator that the batteries are charging, and
will stop ashing when the batteries are fully charged.
• If the parent unit is in use and not placed on the cradle/charger,
the light will start ashing when the batteries start running low.
A beep tone will also sound every 2 minutes; you will have 30 to

6 GENERAL (SAFETY)
INSTRUCTIONS AND TIPS
6.1 GENERAL:
Check the function ability of the baby monitor each time before
use. In addition to checking the range and connection control of
the DBX-76, it is recommended to regularly check the connec-
tion during usage.
The baby monitor should only be used as an assisting device
and not as a substitute for an adult or baby-sitter.
The DBX-76 should not be used for anything else than for de-
tecting sounds from within your own private premises; anyone
else within the listening perimeter of the baby monitor should be
informed.
A license is not required in order to use the wireless baby moni-
tor. The system can be used as needed within the home. There
is no guarantee, however, that the signal will always have an
interference-free signal.
If the baby monitor and parent unit are not being used, it is advi-
sable to turn them off using the on/off button.
6.2 TEMPERATURE DISPLAY:
The temperature sensor sticks out from the back of the baby
unit.
In order for the sensor to obtain an accurate reading do not
cover the sensor or place it in direct sunlight.
Also placing the sensor up against or near a heater can inu-
ence the temperature indicator.
Please note that the displayed temperature is only an indication.

20
6.3 USING MUTIPLE BABY MONITORS:
The technology behind the DBX-76 makes it possible for more
DBX-76 baby monitors (baby unit and parent unit) to be used
next to each other in order to monitor multiple baby rooms
simultaneously and still have an interference-free signal; each
parent unit and baby unit is equipped with a unique code. This
code prevents the DBX-76 from picking up sounds from other
baby monitors in the area, or that other baby monitors pick up
the sounds coming from your baby monitor.
It is not possible to expand your DBX-76 with additional single
baby units or single parent units.
6.4 RANGE:
The connection range of the baby monitor is up to 300 meters
in an open eld and 50 meters in a house; the range can dif-
fer according to external conditions (concrete walls, other baby
monitors, cordless phones, etc).
6.5 POWER SUPPLY:
Adapters:
Only use the supplied adapter and not other adaptors. Con-
necting a power adapter, other than the supplied adapters, may
cause damage the electronics on the DBX-76.
Batteries:
The parent unit can only be charged using RECHARGEABLE
batteries.
Only insert batteries with the following specications:
* Format: AAA / pencil cell / HR03 / 1.2V
* Type: NiMH (Nickel-Metal-Hydride), re-chargeable
* Power: 750mAh or higher
