IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should be followed:
1. Read all instructions carefully.
2. Make sure the power supply corresponds to one on the rating label.
3. To avoid electrical shock, do not i erse electrical parts in water or other liquid.
4. Do not allow children to operate or play with the appliance.
5. Unplug fro outlet when not in use, or before putting on/taking off parts.
6. Do not use with da aged electrical cord or plug.
7. If da aged or alfunction occurs, refer to an authorized service center only.
8. Do not place on or near hot surfaces.
9. Never pull the appliance by the power cord.
10. Do not use the appliance for other than intended household use.

or no understanding in the operation and use of this appliance ust first read and fully understand the contents
of the enclosed instruction booklet, and where appropriate seek additional guidance on its operation and use
fro the person responsible for their safety.
Attention:
1. The use of attach ents or other accessories which are not supplied with the appliance are not
reco ended. This could result into electrical shock or da age to the appliance.
2. Never use the appliance near or below curtains and other fla able aterials.
3. Keep the cable away fro heat, direct sunlight, oisture & sharp edges.
Instruction for Use:
Before first use, re ove all packaging aterials/stickers fro the unit and wipe the surface of the plates with a
da p cloth, then dry.
1. Place the Sandwich Press on a flat level surface. Unlock the Storage clip, and unscrew the adjustable Height
knob, this will allow the top and botto to open and close.
2. Before using your Sandwich Press for the first ti e, the non-stick plates ust be seasoned during the
preheating ti e (until the green light goes on) to protect the non-stick surface.
3. For the first use ONLY, pour a s all a ount of cooking oil, butter or argarine to the cooking surface and
rub it with a paper towel. Take extra care, as the cooking plates will be hot.
4. Cooking plates ust be in closed position for pre-heating.
5. Plug the power cord into a 230V power outlet and turn the power ON. The Power On (Red) will light,
indicating that there is power to the unit. The Ready (Green) will also light, indicating pre-heat I co plete.
6. For the first ti e, you ay notice a slight e ission of s oke caused by heating ele ents and new
co ponents, this is quite nor al and it will stop after a short period of ti e.
7. Preheat the plates in 2-4 inutes (or until the green light goes On). Prepare the plates accordingly. If using
the sandwich press for the first ti e. Maxi u te perature of the plates is obtained after 5 seconds of the
GREEN light goes On.

8. During the preheating ti e (the Green light goes ON) – Prepare your sandwich and if ready, open the
Sandwich Press and place the sandwich inside Cooking Plate. Always place Sandwiches towards the rear of
the cooking plate.
9. Close the Top Cooking Plate and it will auto atically adjust the thickness of sandwich because of the floating
hinge. This will ensure an even toasting. Use the Adjustable Height knob if you do not want the top plate
touching the sandwich.
10. Toasting should take approxi ately 5-8 inutes. However, exact toasting ti es will depend on types and
thickness of breads and different fillings used.
11. Open the lid when the sandwich is cooked. Always re ove the sandwich by using plastic or wooden spatula.
Never use etal utensils as this ay da age the Non-Stick Coated surface.
12. Close the lid to preserve the heat until ready to toast the next sandwich. After use, re ove the plug fro
the wall socket.
Hints for Best Results
Bread:
1. The Sandwich Press can be used to toast ost types of Bread: White, Whole eal, Multigrain, Rye, Raisin
Loaf, etc. Focaccia, Turkish Bread, Baguettes as well as Bread Rolls are also ideal to toast in the Sandwich
Press.
2. Sweet breads, such as Raisin Bread and Brioche, which contain high sugar content, will tend to brown
quicker.
3. For soft or liquid sandwich fillings, use ediu sliced bread, white or brown. If s all a ount of filling, use
toasting bread.
4. The Sandwich Press is ideal for toasting plain breads or Turkish breads with no fillings or toppings. Try
toasting Turkish breads with ja s for a great alternative to standard bread at breakfast.
Fillings:
CAUTION! Always take care when eating sandwiches containing fillings such as cheese, to ato and ja , as they
retain heat and it can burn your outh by eating sandwiches too quickly.
Fat Free Snacks:
It is NOT necessary to use any butter or argarine on outside of the toasted snack because the sandwich press
has a Non-Stick Flat Plate Design.
SUGGESTED RECIPES:
Toasted Mushroom and Sundried Tomato Sandwiches (Serves 4)
Preparation Ti e: 10 in
Cooking Ti e: 15 in
Yield: 4 x sandwiches
Ingredients:
300 g cup ushroo s (sliced,)
100 g baby spinach leaves
½ cup sundried to atoes, chopped
¾ cup grated, reduced-fat cheddar cheese
200 g Turkish bread, sliced into four servings
Procedure: Heat a frying pan and spray it with cooking spray. Add ushroo s, cook and stir occasionally for
three inutes or until soft. Drain on paper towel. Season it with salt and pepper, preheat the Sandwich press
until the green “Ready Light” goeas On. Arrange spinach leave, ushroo s, sundried to atoes and cheese
evenly on the Turkish bread. Season with salt and pepper. Top with re aining bread and press down fir ly.
Place the sandwiches under the grill or in the sandwich toaster and cook for five inutes or until toasted. Cut in
half and serve.

TOASTED BACON BANANA AND CHEESE SANDWICH (Makes 2 Sandwiches)
Ingredients:
4 Slices of Bread
6 or 7 strips of Pre-cooked Bacon
1 Banana
2 Slices of Cheddar Cheese
Procedure: pre-heat the sandwich press until the green “ready light” goes on. Then place the four slices of bread
on the botto plate and close co pletely, Toast for no longer than one inute, (if you just want it to go slightly
brown). Re ove the Toast and put the Bacon strips flat, covering the botto piece of toast. Then slice the
Banana lengthways, +/- 6 slices, and place on top of the bacon. Cover with the slice of Cheese and place the
toasted top on and allow cooking in 3-4 inutes.
MEXICAN TORTILLAS (Serves 4-6)
Ingredients:
250g Mexican Salsa
Half a cup Black Turtle Beans - ashed (Or red Kidney beans)
2 Tablespoons snipped Garlic Chives
200g finely chopped Chorizo Sausage
16 Tortilla rounds (unfried)
200g Tatziki dip
200g Avocado dip
250g Mozzarella cheese, grated
1 cup Sour Crea
Procedure: Pre-heat the Sandwich press until green “Ready Light” goes on. Co bine Salsa, beans, chives and
sausage and spoon ixture over 8 Tortillas. Top with alternating layers of Tatziki, Avocado and Cheese. Cook
Tortillas until golden crisp and heated through - Approx. 8 Minutes. Serving Suggestion: Serve with Sour Crea
and Salad Greens
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
1. Always ake sure the appliance is unplugged fro the ains supply before cleaning.
2. Re ove cru bs or any residue fro the cooking surface.
3. Clean the appliance with a da p cloth, do not use abrasive detergents.
4. Wipe the inside and edges of the heating plate with absorbent paper towel or a soft cloth.
5. Should any filling be difficult to re ove, pour a little cooking oil onto the heating plate and re-heat for 1-2
inutes. Turn the power off and wipe off after 5 inutes when the filling has softened. Wipe the outside
body with a slightly oistened cloth ensuring that no oisture, oil or grease ight enter into the appliance.
6. Do not use spray-on cleaners, as this will affect the perfor ance of the Non-Stick surface cooking plates.
Warning:
This appliance is equipped with a grounded, Type G, 2-pin power supply cord. This is a safety feature. Do not
atte pt to defeat the safety purpose of this plug.
