Required generic parts – The following parts are generic and you may
already have some or all of them. The spade connectors listed below
are specically fully insulated, but not heat-shrink style. We don’t
recommend the heat-shrink style because they tend to be longer and
don’t allow enough clearance between the back of the power switch
and the le baery.

5
•Crimp a spade connector onto the single red wire.

•3 black/red wire pairs with spade connectors on one end.
•1 red wire with a spade connector on one end.
•2 black/red pairs that are stripped on one end
Step 2 – Assemble Carbon Composite Anderson Powerpole Panel
Mount
•Crimp Powerpole contacts onto one stripped black/red wire pairs
made in previous step.
•Insert Powerpole contacts into corresponding Powerpole red and
black connectors.
oTip: It’s helpful to use a small athead screwdriver to push
on the back of the contact to seat it in the connectors. Push
unl you hear or feel it click into place.
•Connect Powerpole connectors to each other by sliding one side
dovetail into the dovetail of the other.
oTip: The red connector should be on the right as pictured
below.
•Insert the Powerpole connector pair into the carbon composite
body, with red connector on the right (as pictured below).
•Insert and insert allen screw into the carbon composite body to
lock connectors in place.

•Insert spade connectors into T-Type Connector
Step 5 – Cut BNC Passthrough Hole in Ammo Can
Your AnyTone 578 Go Box – DIY Kit comes with two sperate templates
for locang the BNC passthrough hole. One is for use with a hole saw.
The other is for using a rotary tool to cut out the hole. The second
method is preferred, as cung the hole to the exact shape of the BNC

passthrough will prevent the BNC passthrough from rotang. With that
said, either method is acceptable.
The BNC passthrough hole should be located at the top right of the
ammo can. As you look at the radio, the lid should open to the le. The
idea behind locang the passthrough here is that you can run the
ammo can on its side, with the antenna or antenna cable aached, as
pictured below.
•Place the ammo can on a at surface.
•Place template in upper HDPE inner frame, as pictured below.
Website: www.goboxradio.com
Contact: goboxrad[email protected]
9
•Place upper HDPE inner frame on at surface on the outside of
the ammo can, as pictured below.
oTip: Try to center the upper HDPE inner frame to the ammo
can as much as possible.

Contact: goboxrad[email protected]
10
•Mark the ammo can using a permanent marker.

hole.

13
Step 6 – Install BNC Passthrough
•Install the BNC passthrough by removing the back panel mounng
nut and inserng the BNC passthrough in the hole from the
outside of the ammo can.
•Thread the panel mounng nut onto the back of the BNC
passthrough from inside the ammo can.
oTip: The BNC passthrough is IP68 rated, when the dust cap is
installed. For beer weatherproong with the dust cap
removed, silicone sealant can be added to the passthrough
in areas of possible water ingress.

Step 8 – Mount Turn Buon Fasteners
When completed, your radio will be held in place with a fricon t. In
order to mount the turn buon fasteners correctly, you MUST have your
radio installed during this process, as the side frame pieces ex slightly.
If you do not have your radio installed during this step, your turn buon
fasteners will not be properly aligned.
•Insert your radio between the two side frame pieces, in the radio
mounng slots, as pictured below.
oTip: The fricon t should be ght. This is part of the design
to hold the radio securely. It may feel like it isn’t goint to t.
It will. The side frames ex slightly as you insert the radio.
Use rm even downward pressure.
