2 Provisions
Dear customer!
Congratulations! We are pleased you have purchased our product and wish you
much enjoyment and success working with it!
Please read all instructions contained in these operating instructions before using the
device!
3 Guarantee
On acceptance, please immediately check for any damage incurred to the device
during transport. Claims made for transport-related damage at a later date cannot be
accepted.
We provide a one year factory warranty from the date of delivery (your invoice or
delivery note serves as the warranty card).
This guarantee is limited to faults in material or design/construction and does not
extend to parts that are damaged by normal or excessive wear and tear.
The guarantee is voided if:
−the control module is opened
−the damage is caused by external forces
−operator error is at issue
−the spreader is used in winter service
−the stipulated requirements are not fulfilled
−the device is modified, augmented, or fitted with third-party spares without our
consent.
−the device is cleaned with water
4 Accident prevention
The generally applicable accident prevention regulations of the respective country in
which the device is used must be observed.
The device may only be used by persons who have been informed of the possible
dangers.
5 Basic information
5.1 Design and mode of operation
The "ZS 200 M3" twin-disc spreader is a small seed and slug pellet spreader with a
200 litre capacity.
The two spreader discs are driven by two 12V electric motors, regulated by the
controller. The speed of the spreader discs (working widths), and also the slide valve
opening (sowing rate) can easily be regulated with the controller from the driver's
seat. The power supply for the control module is provided directly from the battery.

5.2 Attaching to the tractor
For this type of attachment, screw the
tractor drawbar between your ZS 200
M3 and the counter plate provided in
the scope of delivery. You should use
bolts with a diameter of 10mm.
Screw the top link bracket to the top link plate and fix your tractor's top link in place
with the bolt.
5.3 Mounting on an attachment
In order to extend the ZS 200 M3 with an
attachment, the best way is to use the counter
plate. Use this to secure your ZS 200 M3 to a
frame on the attachment.
CAUTION: Please note that the sowing height
(installation height of the ZS 200 M3) of the seed
has an influence on the spreading width. This is a
key consideration, particularly when it comes to
very large working widths.
5.4 Fastening the control module
Using two screws, fasten the standard holder
(provided in the scope of delivery) in the cab. Store
excess cable in the driver's cab to avoid clamping it.
TIP: Pay attention to the angle at which you view the
module to ensure optimum readability of the display.
You might have to bend the mount slightly to set the
correct angle.

5.5 Electrical connection
The power cable, provided as part of the
standard delivery, must directly connect the
control module to the battery.
The 12-pin device cable is also connected to
the control module.
CAUTION: Failure to comply with these
instructions can result in damage to the control
module!
IMPORTANT: After using the implement, the controller should be disconnected (for
safety reasons).

5.6 Agitator
The two agitators are fitted in the container and a driven
at a constant speed by their own
agitator motor. The motor is located between the two
discharge hoppers and operates the agitator in the
spreading tank, which turns in a vertical direction, via a
drive shaft. The agitator does not have to be switched
on separately; it starts turning as soon as the spreader
plates are switched on. The shape of the agitator (star-
shaped) and the vertical rotation direction avoid the
scatter material being ground up.
5.7 Emptying the tank
To empty the tank, unscrew the two discharge
nozzles at the front of the tank and hold a container,
bag or other receptacle under it.
TIP: In order to avoid fully emptying it, use the
calibration bag, which comes as standard.
Then secure the calibration bag in front of the
spreader plates. It is secured using magnets, which
are sewn into the calibration bag.
Then, you can fully empty the tank by selecting the
menu point "Empty" on the control module [see point
6.4 of the selection menu]:
The agitator motor and spreader discs start to turn
slowly and the metering slide valve opens fully. Allow
the spreader to run until the tank is completely empty
and the unit is no longer discharging scatter material.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not clean the spreader with water. Only clean the ZS
200 M3 with an air pistol (blow it out) or with a dry or slightly damp cloth.

6 Control module
The ZS 200 M3 has a control module with a hermetically sealed membrane
keyboard.
There is a 4-pin plug on the base, for the power supply. There is also a 12-pin plug
for the connection to the spreader.
The "On/Off” button, which is used to switch the device on and off, is
located at the bottom left.
The speed of the spreader plates can be adjusted with these buttons.
This button is used to select the slide valve opening.
Pressing and holding this button will cause the set position to change
on the display. However, the slide valve remains in position until the
button is released. When the slide valve opens, the indicator light starts
to flash. A steady light indicates that the slide valve has reached the
selected opening position.
A brief press will open the slide valve to the set position.
This button reduces the size of the slide valve opening. Pressing and
holding this button will cause the set position to change on the display.
However, the slide valve remains in position until the button is released.
When the slide valve closes, the indicator light starts to flash. A steady
light indicates that the slide valve is fully closed.
A brief press of the button closes the slide valve completely.

6.0 Main display
Power-up message: Is displayed during the power-
up procedure and shows the type and implement
versions!
The software version can be very helpful for customer service or when servicing.

Once the implement has powered up, you can move through the menu
using the following three buttons:
In the menu, the cursor buttons are used to move up or down one
menu item at a time.
Use to select a menu item then confirm the selection with .
Here, using again, you can select a submenu (if available) and confirm the
selection with ; this opens the value setting mode.
Values can be set using the buttons.
Always confirm the set value with .
Note: If no further settings are made, the display returns to the main screen.

6.1 Surface area calculation
Note: Only count the surface area which is scattered once the slide valve is fully
open.
In the following submenu points, you can enter the
working width and driving speed. You can read off the
surface area in the menu point Day counter.
Input the working width here.
Select the driving speed.
The display jumps to the main menu.
6.2 Seed rate calibration test
This is where you can configure the settings for the
slide valve and for speed, as well as starting the test.
The following points must be entered for the seed rate calibration test, using
the setting chart:
Enter the speed as per the setting chart.
This is where you can select the slide valve
opening.
If all values are correctly set, commence the
test.
Indicates that the seed rate calibration test
has finished. The display then returns to the
main menu.

Note: The seed rate calibration test can be cancelled at any time by
pressing the buttons on the control module.
•You must now weigh the calibrated and collected seed.
•Calibration must be repeated until the required output volume has been reached.

6.3 Field side spreading
Here you can select, for example, left, right or OFF.
Precise description under point 7.6.
6.4 Emptying
This menu item is used to empty the container (e.g. when work has ended, when
changing seed). See point 5.7 for details.

TIP: Emptying can be cancelled at any time by pressing the or button or with

a particular period.
Displays the surface area in ha since the

6.6 Surface area
Displays the total surface area covered. This value
cannot be changed.
6.7 Operating hours
Operating hours counter = Running time of the
spreader discs.
Displays the total operating hours. This value cannot
be changed.
6.8 Operating voltage
Displays the current operating voltage.
If this value begins to fluctuate significantly during
operation, there are problems with the on-board
electronics. This can lead to a poor scatter result!
6.9 Power consumption
This value displays the power consumption of the
spreader plate motors.

6.10 Emergency operation mode
In emergency operation, the overload monitoring
system on the motors is deactivated. It is reset to
normal operation after each restart.

7 Settings
7.1 Spreader disc, lateral distribution, spreader vanes
The spreader discs always run from the inside outwards. Left clockwise, right
anticlockwise. Be aware that the spreader vanes on the left scatter plate are
arranged differently to those on the right scatter plate. This installation of the
spreader vanes is tested via a lateral distribution test. If the spreader vanes are set in
this way, you obtain as even a scatter distribution and lateral distribution as possible
for all seed types.
7.2 Deflector / Guide plates
The guide plates, which are supplied as standard, are
attached to the ZS 200 M3 with the bolts provided for
this purpose. They prevent the carrier vehicle from being
pelted with scatter material.

7.3 Contact point adjustment
Contact point adjustment enables the accuracy of distribution to be
optimally regulated. With contact point adjustment, the two scattering
cones of the twin-disc spreader can be arranged such that the
overlap of the two cones is optimal.
A kind of pivotable hopper is mounted to each of the two discharge
openings in the spreading tank, through which the stream of scatter
material flows onto the spreader disc. A lever is used to adjust this
discharge opening, which changes the point at which the grain hits
the spreader disc.
TIP: Make sure that the contact point for both spreader
discs is always set symmetrically, i.e. the position on the
left and the right scales must be set the same. The scale
positions are engraved directly into the frame of the
spreader.
If the contact point adjustment lever is fixed in the position
+45 (all the way back), then the scatter cone is directed
outwards (= small overlap of the scatter cones). The
further forwards the lever is set, towards position -45, the
further the contact point moves back and the scatter cone
moves towards the centre (= larger overlap of the scatter cones).
The contact point adjustment setting is also dependent upon the seed in question.
7.4 Spread width
The spread width depends on the density and shape of the seed and the spreader
disc speed. The seed spreader is designed to spread seed, e.g. slug pellets, evenly
over an area of 30 m. For this to be successful, the battery and generator must be in
good condition. Please refer to the setting charts under item 8 for the precise settings
for sowing rate, working width, etc.
We recommend attaching the spreader at least 1 m above the ground to enable an
optimal spreading density.
Note: If the ZS 200 M3 is fitted to machines with a small working width, and the seed
is to be scattered directly into/in front of the roller, the scatter device can even be
angled down slightly. However, please note that the tank only empties completely if it
is level!

7.5 Calibration test for seed rate / regulating the seed volume
When performing the seed rate calibration test, the calibration bag, which comes as
standard, is used. This allows you to very easily and conveniently carry out the
calibration test. Instructions on attaching the calibration bag are given under point
5.7.
Note: To determine the required sowing volume, you should calibrate the seed rate.
Proceed as follows to carry out a seed rate calibration test:
1. Attach the calibration bag to the spreader and
secure it with the magnets and the cord (see
illustration).
2. Using the formula below, calculate the required
sowing volume per minute.
3. The speed required to reach the required
sowing rate is contained in the appropriate
setting charts (see point 8).
4. The determined speed for the spreader plates and the slide valve opening is
adjusted via the control module (see point 6.3).
5. The seed rate calibration test then runs automatically (for exactly one minute),
and the seed runs into the calibration bag, without loss.
6. The calibrated and collected spreading material must now be weighed.
7. The required setting can be found by adjusting the slide valve opening and by
calibrating the seed once more.
8. The points listed must be repeated until the required sowing rate has been
reached.
9. Once work has begun, you should field check the sowing rate. Special
attention should be paid to the driving speed, the sowing rate and lateral
distribution.

7.6 Field side spreading
This setting is used to reduce the spreading width on one side of the spreader. This
function is important if, for instance, you are spreading at the side of a field. You can
adjust the spreader discs such that the spreader disc directed towards the middle of
the field continue to run at full speed, while the disc aimed towards the neighbouring
field only runs at half speed. This therefore also reduces the spreading width of this
spreader disc roughly by half.
