3. Cables Connection
3.1 Cables accessories

3.2 Cable connection chart

After cable connection, by long press “MENU” or “BACK” button from iDrive knob, you can switch the
system between the original CIC system and the CarPlay system.
3.3 Power cable connection
1) Connect the new cable harness to the OEM original power cable and the head unit.
2) If your car has fiber optic cable, you need to move the original fiber optic cable to the new harness.

3.4 LVDS cable connection
1) New LVDS cable (LVDS-CIC) connect to the head unit and “LVDS IN” of the CarPlay box.
2) New LVDS cable (LVDS-OUT-CIC) connect to original LVDS cable and the “LVDS OUT” of the CarPlay
box.
Note: Wrong LVDS cables connections will cause black or red screen.

3.5 iDrive CAN cable connection
1) B# Carplay CAN All OUT connect to D# CP CAN ALL IN
2) A# CP low Speed Can connect to C# iDrive CAN
3) Unplug the original iDrive power cable from the iDrive and reconnect it to the new iDrive CAN harness.
Then plug the new cable into the iDrive.
Note: Wrong iDrive CAN cable connections will cause a red screen.

Number 4 and 5 connectors are for the big iDrive
Number 2 and 3 connectors are for the small iDrive and MINI iDrive

3.6 WiFi antenna and USB-AV cable connection
Tip :
A) The WiFi antenna cannot be placed close to metal objects. (The WiFi signal will lost if WiFi
antenna is close to the metal objects.)
B) The USB port in the USB-AV cable is used for software updates.
3.7 Microphone cable connection
3.7.1 for Cars with original Microphone
If your car is with original Microphone function, you need to use our Microphone extend cable and
connect it to your car original Microphone.

extend cable to the factory OEM Microphone.

3.7.2 for Cars without original OEM Microphone
If your car doesn’t have factory Mic, you can use the aftermarket Mic. But the code NO.7 of toggle switch
need to be set as “on” status.
Aftermarket mic should be installed close to the driver position.

3.8 The CarPlay interface decoder box should be put behind the head unit host or on the
OEM head unit.
